An electric rotating machine includes a rotor, a stator in which a coil is so wound as to have an coil end, and a coolant supply pipe. The coolant supply pipe lies with a length thereof extending substantially parallel to an axis of rotation of the rotor and is disposed above the stator in a direction of gravitational force. The coolant supply pipe has a first and a second coolant outlet through which coolant is to be emitted to the coil end. The first and the second coolant outlets are so oriented as to direct streams of the coolant to a first area and a second area of the coil end which are different in location from each other. This enables the coolant to be emitted to almost the whole of the coil end even when the electric rotating machine is titled in a direction in which the rotor turns.

Insulated wire

An electric rotating machine is provided which includes a stator in which a coil is so wound as to have an coil end and a coolant channel. The coolant channel has defined therein a flow path through which coolant flows and a flow separator disposed in the flow path and a first and a second coolant outlet. The flow separator works to separate a flow of the coolant into at least a first and a second coolant streams. The first coolant outlet communicates with the first coolant stream, while the second coolant outlet communicates with the second coolant stream. The first and second coolant outlets drain the coolant to different portions of the coil end, thereby cooling almost the whole of the coil end even when the electric rotating machine is tilted undesirably.

A discharge amount measuring device includes a power source, first and second sensors, a calibration wire, and a measuring portion. The power source applies a voltage to a coil of a rotational electric machine. The first sensor detects a current flowing through the coil. The calibration wire has an end connected to the coil. The second sensor detects a current flowing through the calibration wire. The measuring portion forms a calibration line based on a first waveform detected by the first sensor and a second waveform detected by the second sensor. The measuring portion calculates a discharge amount based on the calibration line.

The electric rotating machine includes a rotor relatable around a rotating shaft disposed horizontally, a stator core formed with slots, and a stator coil constituted of in-slot portions each of which is accommodated in a corresponding one of the slots, and turn portions each of which connects corresponding adjacent two of the in-slot portions at a position outside the stator core. The turn portions form a coil end projecting axially outward from an end surface of the stator core at each of both axial end sides of the stator core. The coil end is formed in a cylindrical shape including an axial end surface of a flat shape, and inner and outer peripheral surfaces of a circular shape. The electric rotating machine further includes a coolant supply section to supply coolant to an upper part of the outer peripheral surface of the coil end.

Cooling structure for electric rotating machine

A stator core for a rotary electric machine is provided. The stator includes an annular stator core having a plurality of slots punched and arranged in the circumferential direction, being straight in the axial direction, and a stator winding consisting of wire members. The wire members have respective straight portions accommodated in respective slots. Each of the wire members has a conductor portion having a rectangular cross section and an insulating coating covering the conductor portion. An adhesive member is provided between each of the straight portions and the wall surface of each slot. In each slot, the adhesive member adheres the straight portions to the wall surface. Thus, the stator core can maintain the space factor of the wire members accommodated in each slot and suppress vibration of the wire members during the operation of the rotary electric machine to reliably reduce generation of peculiar noise or magnetic noise.

Stator for rotary electric machine and method of manufacturing the stator

A stator includes a stator core, a stator coil comprised of a plurality of electric wires, and at least one restraint. Each of the electric wires has a plurality of in-slot portions received in slots of the stator core and a plurality of turn portions that are located outside of the slots to connect the in-slot portions. The restraint is mounted to end parts of the turn portions belonging to a turn portion group of the electric wires to restrain relative radial movement between the turn portions of the turn portion group. All the turn portions of the turn portion group protrude from the same slot of the stator core. The end parts of the turn portions respectively adjoin the in-slot portions of the electric wires received in the same slot of the stator core and align with each other in a radial direction of the stator core.

A stator for a multiple-phase rotary electric machine is provided with a stator core with slots and a coil formed of a plurality of windings for individual phases. Each winding has slot-accommodated portions accommodated in different slots, turn portions connecting the slot-accommodated portions outside of the slots in an axial direction, and a return portion that connects two of the turn portions and changes a winding direction of the winding at given slots. The turn portions include specific turn portions which are the same in a circumferential position as the turn portion connected to one of the return portion. The first and second windings are jointed to each other via a joined portion disposed in a specific slot among the slots.

In a stator coil of a rotary electric machine, a first crank portion radially shifts one side of a turn portion from the other side thereof by a first length. The one side extends to one of paired straight portions, and the other side extends to the other thereof. A second crank portion radially shifts one side of a turn portion from the other side thereof by a second length. The one side extends to one of the paired straight portions, and the other side extends to the other thereof. The first length is equivalent to a radial width of the turn portion of the first segment of each set. The second length allows the second crank portion of the second segment of each of the sets to substantially overlay the first crank portion of the first segment of each set.

Rotary electric machine having stator coil with U-shaped segment

A stator for a multiple-phase rotary electric machine provided a stator core with slots and a coil formed of a plurality of windings for individual phases. Each winding has slot-accommodated portions held in different slots, turn portions connecting the slot-accommodated portions outside of the slots in an axial direction, and a return portion that connects two of the turn portions and changes a winding direction of the winding at given slots. The turn portions include specific turn portions which are the same in a circumferential position as the turn portion connected to the one of the return portion. The specific turn portions are located, in a radial direction, to be drawn apart from the rotor than the slot-accommodated portions connected to the specific turn portions.

A method of manufacturing an electric rotating machine having a stator that includes a stator core having slots formed at an inner periphery thereof, and a stator winding constituted by conductive wires wound on the slots. The stator winding includes in-slot portions accommodated in the slots and turn portions each connecting each adjacent two of the in-slot portions outside the slots. The stator core includes a core member having at least three tooth portions extending in a radial direction of the stator core and a core back portion integrally connecting the tooth portions at a radially end side thereof. The core member is configured such that each of the first tooth portions folded toward the core back portion is capable of unfolding to extend between a corresponding adjacent two of the in-slot portions when the core member is at a predetermined axial position with respect to the stator winding.

The stator of an electric rotating machine includes a stator core having slots formed therein along a circumferential direction thereof, and a stator winding formed by conductive wires wound on the slots. The stator winding includes in-slot portions accommodated in the slots and turn portions each of which connects each adjacent two of the in-slot portions outside of the slots.
