The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for recovering carbon dioxide (hereinafter also referred to as 'CO') contained in a combustion exhaust gas, and more specifically relates to: an apparatus and method for reactively absorbing COcontained in a combustion exhaust gas into an amine compound-containing absorption liquid; an apparatus and method for desorbing COcontained in an amine compound-containing absorption liquid from the amine compound-containing absorption liquid; an apparatus and method for evaporating and separating impurities from the amine compound-containing absorption liquid containing the impurities; an apparatus and method for performing a pretreatment such as desulfurization, dust removal, and cooling on a combustion exhaust gas; and a carbon dioxide-recovering apparatus and method utilizing the above apparatuses and methods.

A spray distribution measuring device comprises a chamber 4 having a spray nozzle 1 as a measurement object at the top; a saucer 3 arranged below the spray nozzle within the chamber 4 and partitioned into a plurality of regions each having a prescribed area; measuring tubes 6 each installed substantially vertically from each region of the saucer 3 and having a prescribed sectional area, the upper end of each of which opens into the bottom of each region of the saucer; pressure sensors 7 each installed at the lower end of each of the measuring tubes to measure the head pressure of each measuring tube; and a controller 10 for computing a difference between the pressure applied to the pressure sensor and an initial pressure, and measures the spray distribution on the basis of a difference between the head pressure of the a test solution accumulated in each measuring tube by spraying and the initial pressure before the spraying.

An EGR control device for an engine comprising: an exhaust gas recirculating passage for connecting an exhaust pipe to an intake pipe of an internal combustion engine; an exhaust gas recirculating valve provided at the exhaust gas recirculating passage for controlling a quantity of exhaust gas which is recirculated to intake air of an engine; an oxygen sensor provided at an intake passage on the downstream side of a junction point of the recirculated gas and the intake air for detecting an oxygen concentration of the intake air mixed with the recirculated gas; an exhaust gas recirculating valve passage area controlling means for controlling a passage area of the exhaust gas recirculating valve; a running state detecting means for detecting a running state of the engine; a calculating means for calculating a first exhaust gas recirculation ratio based on an output of the oxygen sensor and for calculating a second exhaust gas recirculation ratio corresponding to a value detected by the running state detecting means; and a feedback controlling means for performing a feedback control which increases or decreases the passage area of the exhaust gas recirculation valve so that the first exhaust gas recirculation ratio agrees with the second exhaust gas recirculation ratio.

EGR control device for an engine

An air/fuel ratio control apparatus for a fuel injection type internal combustion engine is able to prevent an air/fuel mixture supplied to the engine from becoming excessively lean even immediately after engine decelerations and thus provide an optimum air/fuel ratio at all times during engine operation. An engine operating parameter sensor such as a pressure sensor, a flow meter, etc., periodically senses an engine operating parameter such as the intake pressure in an intake manifold, the flow rate of intake air sucked into the engine, and the like. A deceleration sensor senses the beginning of engine deceleration. An engine control unit including a microprocessor calculates, from the output signal of the engine operating parameter sensor, a change in the engine operating parameter between two consecutive points in time, and it further calculates a corrected amount of injection fuel supplied to the engine on the basis of the change in the engine operating parameter thus obtained. The control unit controls the fuel injector such that the fuel injector can supply the corrected amount of fuel to the engine during a predetermined length of time from the beginning of engine deceleration. In addition, the length of time, during which the fuel injector can supply the corrected amount of fuel to the engine, or the corrected amount of injection fuel, can be increased in accordance with the decreasing engine temperature.

Air/fuel ratio control apparatus in an internal combustion engine

An air-fuel ratio controller, including: fuel injection apparatus to supply an engine with fuel, a quantity of fuel to be delivered by the fuel injection apparatus being controlled by an impressed fuel quantity injection pulse having an injection time width corresponding to a desired fuel quantity; engine status detecting apparatus for detecting a status of at least one of a rotation frequency, intake manifold pressure, and volumetric efficiency operating parameter with respect to an operation of the engine; basic fuel quantity calculating apparatus for calculating a basic fuel quantity according to the status detected by the engine status detecting apparatus; air-fuel ratio sensor apparatus for detecting an air-fuel ratio in an exhaust gas from the engine; proportional integral processing apparatus for integrally processing and calculating an actual fuel quantity according to the output from the air-fuel ratio sensor apparatus; learning apparatus for calculating, using an output from the integral processing apparatus, a learned value to correct the basic fuel quantity into a controlled fuel quantity; learned value correcting apparatus for correcting the basic fuel quantity by using the learned value from the learning apparatus; and, calculation prohibiting apparatus for prohibiting the learning apparatus from calculating until a predetermined time lapses after the engine starts, or until a predetermined time lapses after an engine cooling water temperature is detected to have reached a predetermined temperature level.

Air-fuel ratio controller

A fuel control apparatus for an internal combustion engine which comprises a pressure detecting means for detecting a pressure in a bypass air passage which bypasses a throttle valve in an air intake system for an internal combustion engine, a first estimating means for estimating a value corresponding to the effective cross-sectional area of the bypass air passage, a second estimating means for estimating a pressure in an intake air pipe of the air intake system on the basis of a pressure value detected by the pressure detecting means and an estimated value of effective cross-sectional area obtained by the first estimating means, and an operating means for calculating a fuel injection quantity on the basis of an estimated value of pressure in the intake air pipe which is obtained by the second estimating means.

Fuel control apparatus for an internal combustion engine

An engine control system in which the sensed intake manifold pressure is initially utilized as the atmospheric pressure, before engine rotation, and is thereafter calculated or updated on the basis of the throttle opening and engine revolution values falling within a detection zone for predetermined time.

An apparatus for controlling the operation of an engine based on the pressure in an intake manifold. If a change in the pressure in the intake manifold is equal to or less than a predetermined value during a predetermined period within the period from the time when a voltage source is turned on to the time when a starter is turned on, the pressure in the intake manifold is detected and stored. If the engine is not in the start mode, the rate of fuel supply is increased based on an atmospheric pressure detection value. Based on the comparison between the atmospheric pressure value and a predetermined value, a passage for bypassing a throttle valve is opened and closed to control the idling of the engine.

Apparatus for and method of controlling internal combustion engines

An air-fuel ratio control system for internal combustion engines has an air-fuel ratio sensor mounted in an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine and is adapted to produce an output indicative of the air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to the engine, on the basis of the composition of exhaust gases in the exhaust pipe. The air-fuel ratio sensor is provided with an electric heater for heating the air-fuel ratio sensor. The system further has an engine operation sensor adapted to sense, through detection of the state of the ignition switch, whether the engine has been stopped. When the engine operation sensor has sensed that the engine has been stopped, the electric heater is supplied with power for a predetermined time after the stop of the engine so as to evaporate any water content clinging to the air-fuel ratio sensor.

Air-fuel ratio control system for internal combustion engines

A fuel injection control system for an internal combustion engine having means for limiting a fuel amount to be supplied to the engine according to an output of an air flow sensor to a predetermined upper limit value, and means for correcting the intake air flow rate by the output of the air flow sensor when the opening of an intake air throttle valve is opened at a predetermined value, thereby limiting the output of the sensor to the predetermined upper limit value in case that the output of the sensor increases larger than the actual value and correcting the air density if different from a reference by the correcting means.

Fuel injection control system for internal combustion engine

An air-fuel ratio control system for internal combustion engines has an air-fuel ratio sensor mounted in an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine and is adapted to produce an output indicative of the air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to the engine, on the basis of the composition of exhaust gases in the exhaust pipe. The air-fuel ratio sensor is provided with an electric heater for heating the air-fuel ratio sensor. The system further has a temperature sensor for sensing the temperature of the internal combustion engine or the ambient air temperature, and an engine operation sensor adapted to sense whether the engine has been stopped, through detection of the state of the ignition switch. When the engine operation sensor has sensed that the internal combustion engine has been stopped while the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor is below a predetermined level, the electric heater is supplied with power for a predetermined time after the stop of the engine so as to evaporate any water content clinging to the air-fuel ratio sensor.
