A liquid crystal display device includes a pixel array including a plurality of rows of gate lines, a plurality of columns of source lines, a plurality of switches, and a plurality of liquid crystal cells; a gate driver IC connected to the gate lines; a source driver IC connected to the source lines; a timing control IC arranged to control operation timings of the gate driver IC and the source driver IC; and a system power supply IC arranged to supply a power supply voltage to the source driver IC. Each of the timing control IC and the system power supply IC has a function of detecting an abnormality in the gate driver IC and an abnormality in the source driver IC.

A driving device comprises a first transistor (B), a second transistor (B), and a resistance element. The first transistor (B) has one terminal receiving a pulsed current and a control terminal connected to the one terminal. The second transistor (B) has one terminal connected to at least one load, the other terminal connected to a reference potential together with the other terminal of the first transistor (B), and a control terminal connected to the control terminal of the first transistor (B). The resistance element is connected between the control terminal of the first transistor (B) and the other terminal of the first transistor (B).

An overcurrent protection circuit includes a voltage monitoring part configured to monitor an output voltage generated from a periodic switching operation of a switching output stage or a feedback voltage corresponding to the output voltage, a current monitoring part configured to monitor whether a current flowing through the switching output stage is under an overcurrent condition, and a protection operation part configured to perform an overcurrent protection operation in response to monitoring results of both the voltage monitoring part and the current monitoring part.

Overcurrent protection circuit and switching power apparatus using the same

A power supply circuitincludes an output circuit that generates an output voltage by performing a power supply operation based on an input voltage, an output terminal to which, after start-up of the power supply operation, the output voltage is applied, and a control circuit that causes a test current to flow between the output terminal and a ground. The control circuit detects, as a test voltage, a voltage at the output terminal in a test period in which the test current is caused to flow. When the test voltage at a predetermined judgment timing is lower than a judgment voltage, the control circuit judges that an output capacitor is connected and thus enables the power supply operation.

A switching power supply device includes: a non-linear control type switching control unit that, in accordance with a result of a comparison between a feedback voltage and a reference voltage, performs on/off control of a switch element, and thereby generates an output voltage from an input voltage; a backflow current detection unit that, upon detecting a backflow current flowing to the switch element, forcibly switches off the switch element; and an on-time setting unit that sets an on-time of the switch element, in a case of the backflow current not being detected, in accordance with a duty of the switch element, and in a case of the backflow current being detected, in accordance with a switch voltage appearing at one end of the switch element or the output voltage.

A driver circuit includes: a first transistor connected between a line of first voltage and an output terminal; a first overcurrent detector configured to output a first signal when overcurrent flows into the first transistor; a first control unit configured to turn on and off the first transistor at a predetermined period and turn off the first transistor when the first signal is output from the first overcurrent detector; and a counter configured to count the number of times by which the first signal is output from the first overcurrent detector within a predetermined time interval, and to output a shut-down signal to stop an operation of the driver circuit as a value of the count reaches a predetermined value of equal to or more than 2.

A switching power supply device has a reference voltage generator for generating a reference voltage, a ripple injector for generating a ripple by use of a pulse voltage indicating the on/off state of a switching element and injecting the ripple into the reference voltage, an integrated voltage generator for generating an integrated voltage commensurate with the integrated value of the pulse voltage throughout its on/off-duty periods, a subtractor for lowering according to the integrated voltage the reference voltage before injection of the ripple or the supply voltage to a buffer that feeds the ripple injector with the pulse voltage after making its pulse height constant, a comparator for comparing a feedback voltage with the reference voltage after injection of the ripple, and a switching controller for generating an output voltage from an input voltage by non-linear control by turning on/off the switching element according to the output of the comparator.
