This EGR valve includes: a valve seat and a valve element provided in a flow passage of a housing; a valve shaft that moves the valve element relative to the valve seat; a step motor that drives the valve shaft together with the valve element; a bearing that drivably supports the valve shaft; a seal member having a lip part adjacent to the bearing and contacting the valve shaft to seal between the housing and the valve shaft; a mounting hole to retain the seal member in the housing; and a deposit guard member adjacent to the seal member to prevent deposits from entering into the mounting hole. One end of the seal member is provided with a seal protrusion protruding toward one end of the deposit guard member and contacting with the one end while being deformed to seal between the seal member and the deposit guard member.

EGR valve

An EGR valve includes: an inner housing including a flow passage; a valve element which opens and closes the flow passage; a valve shaft on which the valve element is provided; an outer housing in which the inner housing is assembled; and a drive unit which drives the valve shaft. The flow passage of the inner housing includes an inlet and an outlet. The outer housing includes an assembly hole and separate flow passages. When the inner housing is assembled in the assembly hole, the inlet and the outlet of the inner housing communicate with the separate flow passages of the outer housing; an inlet sealing member is provided between the inner housing and the outer housing to correspond to the periphery of the inlet; and an outlet sealing member is provided between the inner housing and the outer housing to correspond to the periphery of the outlet.

Valve device

An EGR system is configured to allow a part of exhaust gas discharged from an engine to an intake passage to flow as EGR gas to an intake passage through an EGR passage to return to the engine. In the EGR system, a heating film is provided on an inner wall or an outer wall of at least one of the intake passage through which the EGR gas is allowed to flow and the EGR passage. At least a pair of a positive electrode and a negative electrode is provided to energize the heating film.

EGR system

In a casing, a cooler valve element is placed in a cooler flow passage, while a bypass valve element is placed in a bypass flow passage. The cooler valve element is adjacent and fixed to a first shaft end portion of a valve shaft. The bypass valve element is adjacent and fixed to a second shaft end portion of the valve shaft. A first bearing is provided between the casing and the first shaft end portion and a second bearing is provided between the casing and the second shaft end portion. A first seal member is placed, adjacent to the first bearing, and a second seal member is placed adjacent to a second bearing. A driven gear is fixed to a leading end of the first shaft end portion. The first bearing consists of a rolling bearing and the second bearing is formed of a slid bearing.

EGR cooler bypass valve

An engine system includes an engine provided with a supercharger provided in an intake passage and an exhaust passage, an LPL-type EGR device, an intake manifold placed immediately upstream of the engine, an electric throttle device placed in the intake passage upstream of the intake manifold, a fresh air inflow passage introducing fresh air into the intake passage downstream of the electric throttle device, and a fresh air inflow valve to regulate the fresh air amount. The intake manifold includes a surge tank and branch pipes branching off from the surge tank. The fresh air inflow passage includes an inlet connected to the intake passage upstream of an outlet port of the EGR passage. A fresh air distribution pipe distributing the fresh air to each of the branch pipes of the intake manifold is provided on an outlet side of the fresh air inflow passage.

Engine system and intake manifold used therefor

A blow-by gas returning (BGV) apparatus includes a blow-by gas storage unit, a throttle device placed in an intake passage, a BGV passage for allowing blow-by gas to flow to the intake passage downstream of the throttle device for recirculation, and a PCV valve for regulating a flow rate of blow-by gas. An abnormality diagnosis device includes an air flow meter to detect an intake amount in the intake passage upstream of the throttle device and an electronic control unit (ECU) for diagnosis. The ECU controls the PCV valve to a first opening degree and a second opening degree when an engine is during deceleration fuel cut, and diagnoses abnormality of the BGV apparatus based on a first intake amount detected under control with the first opening degree and a second intake amount detected under control with the second opening degree.

Abnormality diagnosis device for blow-by gas returning apparatus

A throttle body () includes a throttle casing () and a motor casing (). The throttle casing has a first main body () and a throttle valve () disposed within the first main body. The first main body is made of resin. The motor casing () has a second main body () and a motor () disposed within the second main body. The first main body and the second main body are formed separately from each other and are connected to each other via a joint device ().

Throttle bodies with throttle valves actuated by motors

An intake device for an internal combustion engine includes a throttle body () that forms an intake passage (). A throttle valve () is arranged within the intake passage. A pipe member () is connected to the throttle body, wherein the pipe member forms a communication passage () communicating with the intake passage. An engagement device () is provided between the throttle body and the pipe member. The engagement device includes at least one engagement protrusion () and at least one engagement recess (M). When the engagement protrusion and the engagement recess are engaged with each other, detachment of the throttle body and the pipe member from each other is restricted. The assembly process is simplified by a lack of separate components such as clamps and bolts, relying instead upon a typical snap-fit connection.

Intake device for an internal combustion engine

A throttle device includes a throttle body () and a cover () adapted to be mounted to the throttle body. A coupling device () includes a first engaging portion () disposed on one of the throttle body and the cover and a second engaging portion () disposed on the other of the throttle body and the cover. The first and second engaging portions are engageable with each other when the throttle body and the cover is moved toward each other in a first direction, so that the throttle body and the cover are prevented from moving away from each other in a second direction opposite to the first direction. Means () is provided for preventing accidental or unauthorized intentional access to the first or second engaging portions in order to disengage the first and second engaging portions.

Throttle device with cover for internal elements

A throttle control device includes a throttle body (). In the throttle body, an intake passage (), a first space (), and a second space () are formed. In the intake passage, a throttle valve () is rotatably arranged. The throttle valve is rotated by a motor (). The motor is accommodated in the first space. The second space communicates with the first space. In addition, the second space is adjacent to the intake passage through the intermediation of a wall portion (). This makes it possible for the heat generated in the motor to be effectively dissipated from the first space into the intake passage via the second space and the wall portion.

Throttle control heat dissipation device

Provided is a throttle control device having a throttle body () forming an intake passage () inside the throttle body. A throttle valve () is rotatably arranged in the intake passage. A motor () rotates the throttle valve. The motor has a motor casing (), which has one axial end portion and the other axial end portion. A first support device () fixedly supports one axial end portion of the motor casing with respect to the throttle body. A second support device () supports the other axial end portion of the motor casing with respect to the throttle body resiliently in the radial direction of the motor. The second support device includes a substantially ring-shaped resilient support member ().

Motor driven throttle control device and method of mounting motor thereto

Throttles () include a bore () defined within throttle body (). A longitudinal axis defined within the bore serves as a throttle air flow channel. Throttle shaft () extends across the air flow channel and is rotatably supported by the throttle body about a rotational axis. Throttle valve () is coupled to the throttle shaft and opens and closes the air flow channel by rotating throttle shaft and throttle valve within the bore. The throttle valve extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the bore when the throttle valve is disposed in a fully closed position. Clearance (S) is defined between a peripheral edge () of throttle valve and an inner wall of the bore when the throttle valve is in the fully closed position. The peripheral edge of the throttle valve end defines a substantially spherical surface having a radius (R) of curvature with respect to the rotational axis.

A throttle control device has a throttle body (TB) in which an intake passage () is formed. A throttle valve () is rotatably arranged within the intake passage. A motor () rotates the throttle valve. The throttle body has a gear accommodating chamber (), in which is arranged gear mechanism (). The gear mechanism transmits the rotation of the motor to the throttle valve, and has at least one gear (). A shaft () rotatably supports the gear. The shaft is a unitary member formed integrally on a wall surface () of the gear accommodating chamber in a cantilever fashion. The shaft may have first shaft portion () formed integrally on first wall surface () of the gear accommodating chamber in a cantilever fashion and second shaft portion () formed integrally on a second wall surface () of the gear accommodating chamber in a cantilever fashion.

Throttle control device

A throttle body has a main body made of resin. A throttle valve, a motor, and a gear mechanism, are disposed within the main body, so that the rotation of the motor is transmitted to the throttle valve via the gear mechanism. The gear mechanism includes a drive gear, mounted to an output shaft of the motor, and an intermediate gear disposed between the drive gear and the throttle valve. A metal plate is mounted to a motor casing of the motor and the intermediate gear is mounted to the metal plate. The interface between the intermediate gear and the throttle valve is adjustable.
