A packaging machine includes a pair of grips holding vicinities of two sides of a bag mouth of a packaging bag, a moving body to intermittently moving the paired grips every one of a plurality of packaging steps, and a paper packaging bag sealing device provided in a section where a sealing step is carried out, for sealing a paper packaging bag to which a sealing adhesive agent has been applied.

A bag feeding device includes a bag feed conveyor, a bag capture unit, a bag placement section and a bag supply unit. The bag feed conveyor is configured to sequentially convey packaging bags. The bag capture unit is configured to capture the sequentially conveyed packaging bags one by one. The packaging bags captured by the bag capture unit are placed on the bag placement section one by one. The bag placement section is provided with a bag position correction unit. The bag supply unit is configured to hold the packaging bag placed on the bag placement section to supply the packaging bag to a bag holding unit of a packaging machine.

A packaging bag feeder in a packaging machine includes a bag magazine capable of accommodating a number of packaging bags in a stacked state, a separating mechanism which is configured to separate one of the packaging bags stacked on the bag magazine and a bag placement section on which the separated bag is placed. Disclosed is a grip width adjusting mechanism incorporated in a packaging machine having a grip unit. The grip width adjusting mechanism includes a plurality of grip width adjusting plates disposed at the steps and set with distances between the guide rail and the grip width adjusting plates according to the work content of the steps, respectively and a grip width adjusting lever having a distal end having a grip width adjusting roller abutting against each grip width adjusting plate by a biasing force of the spring, respectively. The grip width adjusting lever is located on either one of the arms so as to be rotated with the arm. A rotational movement angle of the grip width adjusting lever is set according to the distance between the guide rail and the grip width adjusting plate, with the result that the grip width is adjusted.
