Pressure-side cam portions of a pressure plate each include a pressure-side assist cam portion including a pressure-side assist cam surface, a pressure-side body located between the pressure-side assist cam portion and a pressure-side slipper cam portion, and a first stepped portion between a main outer circumferential surface of the pressure-side body and a sub outer circumferential surface of the pressure-side assist cam portion. The sub outer circumferential surface is located radially inward of the main outer circumferential surface. The sub outer circumferential surface is inclined radially inward in a second direction. Among portions of the main outer circumferential surface, at least a stepped portion-side outer circumferential surface adjacent to the first stepped portion is inclined radially outward in the second direction.

Clutch device

A multiple disc clutch apparatus configured to reduce the drag torque, the sticking torque, and simultaneously the weight of the multiple disc clutch apparatus. The apparatus can comprise substantially annular multiple clutch discs connected to an input-side from an engine; substantially annular multiple clutch plates alternately laminated with the clutch discs and connected to an output-side to a wheel; and frictional members secured on surfaces of the clutch discs opposing the clutch plates and adapted to press-contact with or separate from the clutch plates. A power from the engine can be transmitted to the wheel when the clutch discs and plates are press-contacted with each other; the power transmission being blocked by releasing the press-contacting force; wherein depressions are formed on each clutch plate along its periphery and radially inward therefrom; and wherein a part of the one or more frictional members is positioned within a region of the depressions.

Multiple disc clutch apparatus

A power transmitting apparatus which can suppress the rotational vibrations by suppressing rotation of the pressure member relative to the clutch member is provided. The power transmitting apparatus can comprise a clutch housing rotatable together with an input member and a plurality of driving-side clutch discs mounted thereon; a clutch member with a plurality of driven-side clutch discs mounted thereon and interleaved with the driving-side clutch discs; and a pressure member axially movably relative to the clutch member to increase or release the press-contacting force acting on the driving-side clutch discs and the driven-side clutch discs. The power transmitting apparatus can further comprise one or more slide-suppressing members for applying sliding resistance to the pressure member when the pressure member is rotated relative to the clutch member.

Power transmitting apparatus

A clutch device is provided which facilitates an operation of checking whether or not spring seats have been properly disposed and effectively prevents falling off or a change in attitude of the spring seats, thereby reducing the labor required for manufacture. A power transmitting apparatus can comprise a clutch housing rotatable together with an input member and supporting a plurality of driving clutch plates. A clutch member can support a plurality of driven clutch plates alternately arranged between the driving clutch plates via spline fitting and connected to an output member. A pressure member can be mounted on the clutch member so as to be axially movable therealong so as to accommodate pressure-contact and release of the driving clutch plates and the driven clutch plates. Back-torque limiting cams can be configured to release the connection between the driving clutch plates and the driven clutch plates when the rotation speed of the output member has exceeded that of the input member. A rotational force input to the input member can be transmitted to the output member by pressure-contacting the driving clutch plates and the driven clutch plates. The power transmitting apparatus can also comprise a limiting device for limiting a movement of the pressure member toward a direction away from the clutch member.

In a clutch in which an end wall of a clutch housing made of an iron and a retainer plate secured to the end wall are connected with a transmitting gear made of an iron and disposed between the end wall and the retainer plate for rotation relative to each other in the predetermined range of angle, damper springs and belleville springs for urging the transmitting gear toward the retainer plate are interposed between the end wall as well as the retainer plate and the transmitting gear, and a thrust washer is mounted to an outer surface of the end wall of the clutch housing for preventing the contact of the end wall and the belleville springs; detent bores are provided in the end wall of the clutch housing, and detent claws are formed on a thin thrust washer to be engaged into the detent bores. Thus, the relative rotation of the clutch housing and the thrust washer relative to each other is prevented, while providing a good assemblability of the clutch.
