An antenna apparatus is disclosed. The antenna apparatus includes a board and a line antenna. The board includes: a base part having dielectric layers and a conductive layer disposed between the dielectric layers; multiple metal plates arranged on one surface of the base part while being spaced apart at even intervals so as to provide a band-gap surface; and a connection part via which the conductive layer is electrically connectable with the multiple metal plates. The line antenna is located on a band-gap surface side of the board, is arranged along the band gap surface, and is configured to receive and transmit the electromagnetic wave within an operating frequency band. The connection part includes a first adjustment circuit that is configured to individually adjust an impedance between the conductive layer and each of the plurality of metal plates.

Antenna apparatus

An antenna apparatus has a ground plane and a traveling-wave linear antenna The ground plane has a dielectric layer and metallic plates disposed on the dielectric layer. The plates placed on a front side of the ground plane act as a band gap surface. The dielectric constant and thickness of the dielectric layer, the number of plates and the width of spaces among the plates are adjusted, so that the band gap surface prevents propagation of electromagnetic waves within a specific frequency band. The antenna is disposed over the band gap surface on the front side of the ground plane to be spaced away from the band gap surface. The antenna radiates electromagnetic waves of an operational frequency within the specific frequency band in response to an alternating current of the operational frequency fed to the linear antenna.

Antenna apparatus for radio communication

In an antenna unit, a radiating element and an antenna ground element are held to a dielectric member, which is primarily provided for increasing electric lines of force passing from the radiating element to the antenna ground element. The radiating element and the antenna ground element are arranged with a predetermined slant relative to a circuit board. Therefore, the number of parts or the complexity of the assembly work for the antenna unit does not increase in comparison with an antenna unit holding a radiating element with an antenna base or a bracket. Furthermore, the slant can be adjusted to any angle during the assembly work. Thus, the maximum gain angle of the directional patterns can be adjusted without increasing the size of the antenna unit.

Antenna unit

An antenna unit includes a substrate having an antenna device and a radio absorbing device. The antenna device, substrate and radio absorbing device are constructed of a patch device, a conductive material and ferrite, respectively. The radio absorbing device is attached to the rear surface of the substrate. The radio absorbing device reduces incoming radio wave signals to travel to the rear surface of the substrate due to reflections by surrounding metal parts.

An angular velocity sensor having a casing in which a disk shaped permanent magnet member is arranged so that it floats on a magnetic fluid filled in the casing. A Hall motor is provided for rotating the permanent magnet about its axis in the casing, and a detection unit is provided detecting an inclination of the magnet member about an axis which is transverse to the axis about which the magnet member rotates, which inclination is generated when the sensor is subjected to an angular movement. An angular velocity of such an angular movement is calculated from the detected degree of inclination of the magnet member.
