A high frequency filter includes: a multilayer substrate including a first substrate for which lands are provided, a second substrate for which lands are provided, and a third substrate for which lands are provided, the third substrate being sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate; a columnar conductor electrically connected to the lands in the multilayer substrate; and columnar conductors provided to surround the columnar conductor, electrically connected to a ground plane of the first substrate, and electrically connected to a ground plane of the second substrate. The spacing between the lands of the first substrate and the lands of the third substrate and the spacing between the lands of the second substrate and the lands of the third substrate are electrical lengths of 90 degrees or less at the cutoff frequency.

A square waveguide () has four ridges (). The cross section of the square waveguide () perpendicular to a waveguide axial direction is square. Inside the square waveguide (), two rectangular waveguide terminals () are formed by partitioning the inside along the waveguide axial direction. A septum phase plate () formed to get narrower stepwisely as its gets closer to a square waveguide terminal () opposite to the rectangular waveguide terminals () is provided. A projecting portion () is provided on a part of a ridge () formed on a ridge-side wall surface opposite to a wall surface, the septum phase plate () being joined to the wall surface in a part where the septum phase plate has largest width, the projecting portion () being larger than other parts of the ridge () in a cross-sectional shape perpendicular to the waveguide axial direction.

Lower-limit frequency reflection characteristics of a horn antenna are improved even though element spacing, of less than or equal to one wavelength, is a spacing at which grating lobes do not occur in an antenna radiation pattern. The horn antenna includes a horn antenna and a conductor grid that divides an aperture A of the horn antenna in a grid pattern and that electrically connects to an inner surface of the horn antenna at the aperture A of the horn antenna. Width of the conductor grid in a direction orthogonal to a horn antenna aperture plane differs from electrical length of the path of the horn antenna of the conductor grid portion at the frequency of power supplied to the horn antenna.

Disclosed is a solder alloy in use for bonding electric or electronic parts, containing: 3 to 12% by weight of a zin component; and a tin component. The oxygen content of the solder alloy is reduced to 100 ppm or less. A heat-resistant member is constructed by having a ceramic coating layer deposited on the surface of a metallic substrate through the medium of a metallic bonding layer. The metallic bonding layer is composed of at least two layers, i.e. a layer of an aggregate of minute particles disposed on the metallic substrate side and a layer of an aggregate of coarse particles disposed on the ceramic coating layer side. Otherwise, the metallic bonding layer is composed of at least three layers, i.e. two layers of an aggregate of coarse particles disposed one each on the metallic substrate side and the ceramic coating layer side and one layer of an aggregate of minute particles interposed between these two layers of an aggregate of coarse particles. These layers are obtained by the low pressure ambient plasma thermal spraying using a fine powder or a coarse powder of an alloy resistant to corrosion and oxidation. The metallic bonding layer constructed as described above is excellent in the ability to resist high temperature oxidation and high temperature corrosion and stable to tolerate thermal fatigue and thermal impacts. Thus, it is capable of preventing the thermal barrier coating layer from sustaining cracks or inducing film separation.

There is disclosed a bubble-mode data-rewritable optical disc, which has a transparent substrate and a recording layer, formed on the substrate, for storing data to be optically rewritable. The substrate is at least partially formed of an organic material, which releases a gas component when it is heated at a radiation region of a data recording light beam. The recording layer is deposited on the substrate by co-sputtering or co-vacuum evaporation. The recording layer is made of a specific amorphous material containing silicon and fine metal particles. When the gas component is released from the substrate, the recording layer is deformed to be locally peeled off out of the substrate by pressure of the gas component, thus forming a protuberance. In a data erasing mode, a data erasing light beam is radiated onto the recording layer, which is then deformed so as to cause the protuberance to disappear, and has a substantially flat surface, thereby erasing the stored information.

A rewritable information recording medium which has a recording layer containing a Group I transition element and a Group IV representative elements of the Periodic Table as two principal element and a support substrate for physically supporting the recording layer, and an information-write, -read, and erase method using this recording medium. When the recording layer is immediately cooled after it is heated up to near a eutectic temperature of the two principal elements, two metastable phases having different energy levels appear. A state in the first metastable phase of the higher energy level has a reflectivity sufficiently higher than that of a state of a mixed phase including the second metastable phase of the lower energy level, or that of the equilibrium state. The state in the first metastable phase can be obtained by heating a recording layer in another state by light beam irradiation. A portion in the first metastable state is cooled after it is heated to a temperature lower than that for obtaining the first metastable phase, so that it can be converted to a state of the low reflectivity, i.e., a state of a mixed phase including the second metastable phase or to the equilibrium state.
