An electrical connector comprises a housing configured to be mated with a mating connector along a mating direction, a shell made of a metal material and enclosing the housing, and a slide cam made of a metal material and slidable with respect to the housing and the shell in a sliding direction perpendicular to the mating direction. The slide cam has a cam portion guiding the mating connector along the mating direction, a first elastic portion configured to be pressed against a metal region of the mating connector, and a second elastic portion integrally formed in a single piece with the cam portion and the first elastic portion and configured to be pressed against a predetermined region of the shell.

Electrical connector

A seal member for an electrical connector comprises a base portion, a wire seal portion disposed in the base portion, a housing seal portion disposed on an outer end portion of a radial outside of the base portion, and a shell seal portion integrally formed with the base portion, the wire seal portion, and the housing seal portion. The wire seal portion is configured to contact an outer peripheral portion of a wire led out from a housing of the electrical connector. The housing seal portion is configured to be pressed against the housing. The shell seal portion is configured to be pressed against at least a bottom portion of a shell enclosing the housing.

Seal member and electrical connector

An electrical connector comprises a plurality of terminals, a housing holding the plurality of terminals, and a movable member. The movable member moves with respect to the housing and the terminals between a front position and a rear position along a mating direction in which the housing is mated with a mating housing. The movable member includes an opening wall having a plurality of openings into which the terminals move in and out along the mating direction according to a movement of the movable member and an insulation wall disposed frontward of the opening wall in the mating direction. The insulation wall is disposed between a portion of the terminals protruding from the openings adjacent to each other in the rear position of the movable member.

A seal member for an electrical connector comprises a housing seal portion, a shell seal portion, and a linkage portion integrally formed with the housing seal portion and the shell seal portion and connecting the housing seal portion and the shell seal portion. The housing seal portion is configured to be pressed between a connector housing of the electrical connector and a mating housing mated to the connector housing in a mating direction. The shell seal portion is configured to be pressed between the connector housing and a shell enclosing the connector housing. The linkage portion is configured to be pressed between an end portion of the mating housing and a support portion of the connector housing in the mating direction.

An electrical connector having a highly reliable electric shock prevention mechanism. The electrical connector has a housing, tab terminals, and a slidable member. The slidable member has engagement arms. The engagement arms have on forward sides fixed ends joined to a front side wall extending forward from an abutting wall, extend rearward in the form of cantilevers, and have hook portions. The hook portions engage with a mating electrical connector and this engagement causes the hook portions to be pulled by the mating electrical connector when the mating electrical connector in a mating state is extracted, so that the slidable member slides to a forward position. In addition, the housing is provided with anti-deflection walls. The anti-deflection walls allow the engagement arms to deflect so that the mating electrical connector can climb over the hook portions when the slidable member is located in the forward position. In addition, these anti-deflection walls prevent the engagement arms from deflecting when the slidable member is located near a rearward position rather than the forward position.

Connector

A connector is disclosed. The connector has a housing, a terminal, and a moving plate. The housing has a mating connector receiving passageway and a raised portion formed inside the mating connector receiving passageway. The terminal is disposed in the housing and extends into the mating connector receiving passageway. The moving plate has a locking arm and an insertion hole into which the terminal is inserted. The moving plate is disposed in the mating connector receiving passageway and is movable between a front position in which a front end of the terminal is retracted inside the insertion hole and a rear position in which the terminal extends beyond the insertion hole. The raised portion abuts the locking arm and prevents deflection of the locking arm when the moving plate is located out of the front position.

An electrical connector assembly and a wire protector used therefore for protecting wires led out of said electrical connector from damage. Said electrical connector has an insulative housing provided with contacts. Said contacts are connected to said wires that are led out of said electrical connector. Said wire protector has a connector mounting portion mounted on an outer wall of said electrical connector. A wire holding portion is integrally formed with said connector mounting portion. Said wire holding portion loosely holds said wires that are led out from said electrical connector at a position remote from said electrical connector while maintaining a direction thereof to reduce stress thereon.

Electrical connector assembly and wire protector

A pressure welding apparatus includes a pressing die assembly which has a plurality of stuffers that pressure-weld electric wires to the pressure-welding parts of contacts , and a comb . The pressing die assembly has a plurality of pins which are located adjacent to the respective stuffers and which are constantly driven downward by springs so that the pins protrude beyond the lower ends of the stuffers . The widths of the respective pins are set so that these widths are substantially equal to the widths of the cavities of the housing in which the contacts 30 are accommodated. As a result, the pins advance into the housing cavities located adjacent to the contact on which pressure-welding is to be performed, and support the housing partition walls from the sides during the pressure welding process.

Pressure welding apparatus and pressure welding method

A connector 10, 30' has a guide member 70, 60' movably latched in its housing 12, 40'. The guide member 70, 60' is used to guide and align contact portions of male contacts. The guide member 70, 60' has a plate 72 formed with a large number of through-holes 84 to pass the male contacts therethrough. Preferably, the guide member 70 is formed with side plates 78 at both sides of the plate 72 perpendicular thereto. Latching arms 92, 94, 96 are stemmed from the free ends of the side plates 78 and extend in the opposite direction, thereby minimizing the apparent length of the latching arms 92, 94, 96 which engage with respective projections 100, 102, 104 on the inner wall of the connector housing 12.

When double-lock member (42a) is in an incompletely inserted state, the contacting part (43a) projects from the plug housing (20). In this incompletely inserted state, the plug housing (20) and cap housing (30) are in a position prior to being tentatively latched to each other, and the contacting part (43a) of the double-lock member (42a), which has not been inserted into the plug housing (20), makes contact with the end (30a) of the cap housing (30), so the drawing together of the plug housing (20) and the cap housing (30) cannot proceed. Also, the end of the bolt case (14) in which the bolt (12) is clasped into the hole (22) of the plug housing, and the bolt (12) is held in the plug housing (20) by the bolt stop plate (40). Therefore, the bolt (12) is held in an unengaged state in the when in the incompletely inserted state.

An electrical connector comprises an insulated housing (11) having contact-receiving chambers (10) formed by partitions (18) in which electrical contacts (30) are to be positioned; a locking member (13) having openings (16) formed by partitions (17); and latch means (20,21;22,23) on the housing (11) and the locking member (13) mounting the locking member in a first position on the housing (11) so that the partitions (17,18) are in alignment such that the spacing between the partitions is essentially eliminated thereby forming substantially continuous surfaces by the partitions enabling smooth insertion of the contacts (30) through the openings (16) and into the contact-receiving chambers (10).
