A roughly shaped material for a rolling bearing of the present invention is produced by forging a steel composed of a high-carbon chrome bearing steel containing 0.7 mass % to 1.2 mass % of a carbon, and 0.8 mass % to 1.8 mass % of a chromium to a predetermined shape while heating the steel to a forging temperature in a range of (Aepoint+25&#xb0; C.) to (Aepoint+105&#xb0; C.), cooling a forged article to a temperature of Aepoint or lower, and performing an annealing in which the forged article that is obtained is heated to a soaking temperature in a range of (Aepoint+25&#xb0; C.) to (Aepoint+85&#xb0; C.), the forged article is retained for 0.5 hours or longer, and the forged article is cooled down to 700&#xb0; C. or lower at a cooling rate of 0.30&#xb0; C./s or slower.

Method of producing roughly shaped material for rolling bearing

A rolling bearing is provided on an outer peripheral surface of a hub spindle of a hub wheel on which a wheel is mounted. Opposite side face splines, which, by meshing with each other, couple the hub spindle and an outer ring of a constant velocity joint torque-transmittably, are respectively formed on an end face of the hub spindle and on an end face of the outer ring of the constant velocity joint which is abutted against this end face. A tubular seal member for covering outer peripheries of the opposite side face splines is disposed so as to straddle an inner ring of the rolling bearing and the outer ring of the constant velocity joint, while maintaining a sealing state.

Wheel supporting device

A bearing device is provided with a bearing ring and a shaft body that is made of carbon steel including pearlite having a cementite layer structure, and has an end portion caulked onto the bearing ring, and in this device, at least in the end portion of the shaft body, the layer gap of the cementite in the pearlite is made greater.

Bearing device and method of manufacturing the bearing device

A vehicle-use bearing apparatus including a hub wheel formed of steel material to which a wheel is mounted and a rolling bearing mounted to an outer periphery of the hub wheel. An end portion of the hub wheel is expanded radially outward toward an inner ring provided to the rolling bearing to be formed into a caulked portion and a percentage of sulfur content is adjusted to be 0.020% by weight or less in steel material of which the 10 caulked portion is formed.

Vehicle-use bearing apparatus

In a bearing device in which a free end of a shaft body to which a rolling bearing is mounted is bent outward in its radial direction into a shape to be pushed against an end face of an inner ring of the rolling bearing so as to prevent the rolling bearing from falling out, a raceway surface of the inner ring of the rolling bearing is subjected to hardening treatment, and another portion of the inner ring is made of raw material which is not hardened. With this arrangement, the caulked portion formed by the caulking plastically deforms the relatively soft inner peripheral corner of the inner ring and as a result, the caulked portion and the inner peripheral corner are adhered to each other strongly.

Bearing device

A bearing device in which a rolling bearing is fitted on one axial end of a shaft and in which the one axial end of the shaft is caulked to fix the rolling bearing while preventing the same from coming out. The shape of the outer end face of the caulked portion is devised to maximize the resistance to the coming-out by the caulked portion.

A bearing device for an axle: including a hub wheel; a flange outwardly provided in an outer periphery of the hub wheel in a radial direction; and bolts having serrations provided at their heads. The flange includes through holes formed therein in its circumferential direction such as to pass therethrough in its axial direction, the bolts are attached into the through holes, respectively, in a state where their serrations bite the through holes of the flange, and an annular groove for reducing a biting amount of the serrations of the bolt is formed in an inner peripheral surface of the through hole of the flange.

Bearing device for an axle

A rolling bearing unit includes a shaft body, an inner ring mounted on the shaft body, an outer ring concentric with the inner ring, and a plurality of balls between the inner ring and the outer ring. A caulking portion to be caulked onto the outer end face of the inner ring is formed on the shaft body. A pre-load is applied to the balls to fix the inner ring to the shaft body. The retained austenite amount of an edge of the inner ring in the vicinity of the caulking portion is between 3% or more and 20% or less.

Rolling bearing unit

A bearing apparatus includes a hollow shaft provided around an outer peripheral surface with a bearing fitting region, and a rolling bearing having an inner ring fitted around the bearing fitting region of the hollow shaft. A shaft end of the hollow shaft is bent outwardly in a diametrical direction, thereby being caulked on an outer end surface of the inner ring. The bearing fitting region has a hardened layer in a region from a first position corresponding to an inner end surface of the inner ring of the rolling bearing to a second position before a position corresponding to an outer end surface of the inner ring, and has a non-hardened layer in another region from the outer end surface corresponding position of the inner ring to the shaft end. The second position representative of a caulked side end portion of the hardened layer is defined based on a predetermined relational expression.

Bearing apparatus and producing method thereof

A bearing is mounted on a hollow shaft of a hub wheel. A shaft end of the hollow shaft is deformed radially outward and caulked to an outer end face of an inner ring of the bearing. Between a first area in which a spline portion is formed and a second area in which a caulked portion is formed, between a bending starting point for bending the shaft end radially outward and an end face of the shaft end on an inner peripheral face of the hollow shaft, a third area for suppressing deformation of the inner peripheral face of the hollow shaft caused by the caulking is formed. The third area cushions deformation in the first area.

Method for forming a bearing apparatus

A rolling bearing device comprising an outer ring member, an inner ring member concentric with the outer ring member in the diameter direction, a plurality of rolling elements disposed so as to freely roll between the outer ring member and the inner ring member, and an axial member which is inserted into the center hole of the inner ring member and which has a flange outward in the diameter direction on the outer peripheral surface thereof, wherein the inner ring member has a curved chamfer on its end surface on the inner peripheral surface side thereof, the axial member is caulked to the end surface of the inner ring member, the amount of decentering between the center of the inner ring members in the diameter direction and the center of the chamfer in the diameter direction is set to the range of over 0 &mgr;m and not more than 200 &mgr;m.

Vehicle-use rolling bearing device

A bearing device comprising a shaft body having an axially cylindrical portion in a free end side thereof and a rolling bearing fitted around an outer peripheral surface of the shaft body, wherein the cylindrical portion is bent and deformed radially outward by a rolling caulking to be caulked thereby on an outer end face of an inner ring of the rolling bearing. An inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion is formed by a turning work, and a residual stress left in a surface layer of the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion by the turning work is set to a value capable of restraining a crack generation ratio in the inner peripheral surface to less than a predetermined rate, desirably to not more than 5 kgf/mm .

A bearing device comprising a shaft body having an axially cylindrical portion in a free end side thereof and a rolling bearing fitted around an outer peripheral surface of the shaft body, wherein the cylindrical portion is bent and deformed radially outward by a rolling caulking to be caulked thereby on an outer end face of an inner ring of the rolling bearing, and a surface roughness of the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion is set to 12.5 &mgr;m or less by a ten-point mean roughness (Rz).
