A printer includes a housing, a cover, and a movable unit. The housing has a space and an opening. The space accommodates a transportation path section that is at least part of a transportation path for transporting a paper sheet. The opening allows the space to communicate with the outside of the housing. The cover is in any one of positions relative to the opening including a closed position where the cover covers the opening and an open position where the cover uncovers the opening. The movable unit has the transportation path section and is movable between a storage position where the transportation path section is stored in the space and a pulled-out position where the transportation path section is pulled out of the space. The movable unit in the pulled-out position is restrained from moving toward the storage position when the cover is in the open position.

There is provided a recording apparatus including: a recording section that performs recording on a recording medium; a cable relay section that is provided between a first area, in which the recording section is arranged, and a second area in which a control section for control is arranged, and that relays cables; a first cable that is configured to extend from the recording section and is connected to the cable relay section on a side of the first area; and a second cable that is configured to extend from the control section and is connected to the cable relay section on a side of the second area.

A first stacker is provided with guide rails on which the stated projection portions slide when the second stacker is pulled out; contact portions that do not make contact with and allow the leading-end projection portions to pass when the second stacker is pulled out but prevent the base-end projection portions from passing; and a support portion that supports the leading-end projection portions when the base-end projection portions are in contact with the contact portions.

A first stacker is configured so that a support surface includes a base-side support surface that forms a planar shape on the base end side of the support surface and a leading edge-side support surface that forms a planar shape that tilts upward toward the leading edge. A second stacker is configured so that a support surface forms a planar shape, and is held in a tilted orientation during use so that the support surface of the second stacker continues to the leading edge of the second stacker in the same upward-tilted state with respect to the leading edge-side support surface of the first stacker.
