According to one embodiment, an intelligent reflecting surface includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a sealing material, a liquid crystal layer, and a first transfer. The first substrate includes a plurality of patch electrodes, and a first power supply pad. The second substrate includes a common electrode, and a first power receiving pad electrically connected to the common electrode. The first transfer is in contact with the first power supply pad and the first power receiving pad. An uppermost layer of the first power supply pad, which is in contact with the first transfer, is formed of a transparent conductive material. The first power receiving pad is formed of a transparent conductive material. The common electrode is formed of metal.

Intelligent reflecting surface and phased array antenna

According to an aspect, a stretchable device includes: a resin base member; and a signal line and a strain gauge stacked on the resin base member. The resin base member includes: a plurality of bodies disposed separately from each other; and a plurality of hinges that couple the bodies while meandering. The hinges each include: a plurality of bends that bend and are disposed between the bodies; and a base that linearly extends to couple one of the bodies to a corresponding one of the bends. The signal line includes: a bend signal line stacked on the bends; and a base signal line stacked on the base. The base signal line has an occupied area per unit length in a length direction of the signal line larger than the bend signal line when viewed in a stacking direction in which the signal line is stacked on the resin base member.

According to one embodiment, a photovoltaic cell device includes a transparent substrate including a first main surface and a second main surface opposed to the first main surface, a liquid crystal layer disposed on the second main surface side of the transparent substrate and including a cholesteric liquid crystal including liquid crystal molecules, and photovoltaic cells disposed on at least one of the first main surface side and the second main surface side of the transparent substrate, each formed into a strip shape, and arranged with a predetermined gap between the photovoltaic cells.

According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal optical element includes a substrate, an alignment film, and a liquid crystal layer. The alignment film includes a plurality of first areas and a second area. According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal optical element includes a transparent substrate having a first main surface, an alignment control layer having a plurality of convex bodies, and a liquid crystal layer having a cholesteric liquid crystal. The alignment control layer has a first alignment area in which the convex bodies are arranged at a first pitch, and a second alignment area in which the convex bodies are arranged at a second pitch. The second pitch is less than the first pitch. The liquid crystal layer has a first liquid crystal area which overlaps the first alignment area, and a second liquid crystal area which overlaps the second alignment area.

According to one embodiment, an alignment processing device includes a light source, a polarizing beam splitter, a first optical system, a second optical system, a first retardation film, a second retardation film, a moving mechanism configured to move a processing substrate in which a thin film is formed, and a controller. Interfering light is formed in an exposure area by first circularly polarized light and second circularly polarized light. The controller performs control so as to repeat a process of exposing part of an area of the thin film by the interfering light and a process of moving the processing substrate.

According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal optical element including a first substrate including a first transparent substrate, a first alignment film, and a first liquid crystal layer which includes first cholesteric liquid crystals, and which reflects part of light incident through the first transparent substrate toward the first transparent substrate, a second substrate including a second transparent substrate, a second alignment film, and a second liquid crystal layer which includes second cholesteric liquid crystals, and which reflects part of light transmitted through the first liquid crystal layer toward the first transparent substrate, and a transparent adhesive layer which adheres the first substrate and the second substrate.

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first display panel, a second display panel and an adhesive layer. The first display panel includes a first substrate with a first terminal area in which a first terminal part is formed, and a second substrate which is opposed to the first substrate and has a thickness different from that of the first substrate. The second display panel includes a third substrate with a second terminal area in which a second terminal part is formed, and a fourth substrate which is opposed to the third substrate and has a thickness different from that of the third substrate. The first terminal area and the second terminal area do not overlap with each other in a plan view.

According to one embodiment, a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal element, includes forming an alignment layer on a support, forming a cholesteric liquid crystal layer containing a plasticizer and having elasticity on the alignment layer, adhering a flexible substrate to the cholesteric liquid crystal layer via a first adhesive layer, peeling the cholesteric liquid crystal layer adhered to the flexible substrate, off from the support and the alignment layer, adhering the cholesteric liquid crystal layer to a rigid substrate via a second adhesive layer and removing the flexible substrate and the first adhesive layer.
