A washing machine includes a washing machine housing having electrical conducting properties and having an earth connection portion, a leaked water tub having electrical insulating properties and installed in a bottom part of the washing machine housing for accumulating leaked water, an electrode for detecting presence or absence of the leaked water in the leaked water tub, a leaked water detection circuit connected to the electrode, the leaked water detection circuit having an electrical insulating function, a retaining member having electrical insulating properties and retaining the electrode, and an attachment member having electrical conducting properties and attaching the electrode to the washing machine housing via the retaining member. The attachment member is electrically connected to the washing machine housing. In the leaked water tub, a lowest end of the attachment member is positioned on the lower side of a lowest end of the electrode. Thereby, a safe and inexpensive washing machine is realized.

Washing machine

An ironing apparatus includes an iron body having a heater, a base, a tank, a water receiving port and a power receiving port, and a stand having an iron rest, a water feeding port and a power feeding part. The base is heated by the heater, and it comprises a vaporizing chamber. The tank stores water to be supplied to the vaporizing chamber. When the iron body is placed on the iron rest, the water feeding port is connected with the water receiving port of the iron body, and the power feeding part is connected electrically to the power receiving part of the iron body. During this moment, connection of the water receiving port to the water feeding port is completed prior to the connection between the power receiving part and the power feeding part.

Ironing apparatus

Near the middle portion as viewed from side of cover case, there is provided a case space through cover case, thereby forming cover case grip portion in cover case. Near the middle portion as viewed from side of the iron body, there is provided a body space there through, thereby forming iron grip portion in iron body. And, it is configured in that cover case grip portion and iron grip portion can be gripped together when iron body is being placed on stand.

Ironing device

A steam sprayer is used in ironing textile products, including clothes. The steam sprayer is user-friendly and offers highly effective ironing. A vaporizing chamber generates steam by vaporizing water stored in a tank. A water-supplying unit supplies the vaporizing chamber with the water. A steam-ejecting section spouts the steam outside. The steams-ejecting section includes a ironing surface with high frictional resistance characteristics. When touching the ironing surface to clothes or other fabrics for ironing, a pulling force is caused by the frictional resistance, which is a preferable wrinkles-off effect. Thus, the steam sprayer offers a synergistic effect brought by spouting the steam and applying the pulling force to clothes, thereby neatly fixing the form of clothes.

An iron comprising a bottom member as an ironing face, which is provided with a plated metal film containing fluorine compound fine particles, so that the ironing face provides high surface hardness which shows less wear, good slidability and less generation of static electricity.

An iron has a first base to be directly heated for increasing an amount of accumulated heat, a second base including a soleplate and a thermal resistance layer disposed between the bases. The thermal resistance layer has a greater heat resistance than the first base so that the first base heated by a heater can maintain a higher temperature than the second base. The iron of the present invention can increase an amount of accumulated heat, thereby extending not only an ironing period but also a period for spraying steam. If a weight of the iron is decreased, the iron still can hold approximately the same accumulated heat as a conventional iron so that a lightweight iron can be provided.

Iron with thermal resistance layer

An electric steam iron having a standard steam spray mode for spraying a standard quantity of steam and an enhanced steam spray mode for spraying an increased quantity of steam as compared with that afforded during the standard steam spray mode. This electric steam iron includes a soleplate having a heater mounted thereon for heating the soleplate and a vaporizing chamber defined therein, a handle disposed above the soleplate, a water tank unit for supplying water to the vaporizing chamber, and a nozzle disposed at a bottom of the water tank unit. The electric steam iron also includes a valving mechanism for selectively opening and closing the nozzle for controlling supply of water to the vaporizing chamber, and a pumping mechanism for supplying an increased quantity of water within the water tank unit towards the vaporizing chamber to accomplish the enhanced steam spray mode. A cover plate is secured to a bottom wall member of the water tank unit so as to define a water passage beneath the water tank unit and covering the pumping mechanism and an exit side of the nozzle. This cover plate has an opening defined therein in communication with the vaporizing chamber.
