An analog to digital voice transmitter which converts analog voice to digital voice data. The transmitter contains a converter for converting digital voice data which corresponds to control data codes, to non-control data. In one embodiment, an ADPCM encoder encodes inputted analog voice signals to ADPCM digital voice codes. A S/P converter converts serial signals to parallel signals of the byte unit. A code converter detects codes to be removed which exist in the ADPCM data of the byte unit and converts the codes to be removed to a code not to be removed by adding or subtracting a data value of 1 to the code to be removed. A transmission FIFO memory stores the ADPCM data in order. A P/S converter converts the parallel data of the byte unit to the serial signals. A transmitting section transmits the serial data in infrared rays to a receiver.

Analog to digital voice transmitter

A radio communication device 7 existing in a function control area 3 receives both a call signal 4 from a base station and a function control signal 5 transmitted from a function control signal transmitting device 2. The call signal 4 and the function control signal 5 have the same frequency. The call signal 4 received is converted into a predetermined block format and constitutes predetermined frames during which data errors occurred in the predetermined block is counted. After the counting, the number of data errors occurred in the predetermined block is compared with a predetermined value. On the basis of the result of comparison, it is determined whether or not the radio communication device 7 exists in a function control area 3. When it is determined that the radio communication device 7 exists in the function control area 3, the function of the radio communication device 7 is controlled and restricted.

A wireless card, in response to a synchronization signal received from a gate machine, transmits a user information to the gate machine. The gate machine examines whether the wireless card is available using the user information. Necessary information obtained based on the user information is retained in the wireless card when it passes through the gate. A user can be informed of the necessary information at any desired time after passing through the gate. The necessary information is generated in the wireless card and/or in the gate machine. The necessary information obtained in the gate machine is transmitted from the gate machine to the wireless card.

In an infrared spatial communication system which comprises first and second data communication devices (1 and 2) and which carries out spatial communication from the first data communication device to the second data communication device by the use of an infrared ray, the second data communication device has a reflector (28) for reflecting, as a reflected infrared ray, the infrared ray which is transmitted from the first data communication device and which carries transmission data. The first data communication device further has another receiver (15, 16) for receiving the reflected infrared ray to produce, as subsidiary reception data, the transmission data carried by the reflected infrared ray. A controller (11, 12) of the first data communication device controls the transmitter so that the transmitter again transmits, when the subsidiary reception data are not coincident with the original communication data, the infrared ray which carries the original communication data. Preferably, the reflector is a hemispherical mirror.
