A magnetic structural body contains core-shell structure particles each including a core section and a shell section covering the surface of the core section. The core section is made of an alloy containing a first metal and a second metal. The shell section is made of an alloy which contains the first metal and the second metal and which has a first metal-to-second metal content ratio different from that of the core section. The first metal is a magnetic metal and has a standard redox potential higher than that of the second metal. The neighboring core-shell structure particles are linearly linked to each other.

Magnetic structural body

A light-emitting element and a light-receiving element are provided on a surface of a substrate. The light-emitting element and the light-receiving element are sealed by transparent resin members and, respectively. A lens is provided at the transparent resin member at a position above the light-emitting element. The center of the lens and a mounting position of the light-emitting element are disposed being shifted from each other. With this, an optical axis of light outputted via the lens is slanted toward an opposite direction side with respect to the light-receiving element at a predetermined elevation angle. In this case, a beam divergence angle of light outputted from the lens is set to a predetermined value.

Optical sensor

An optical material includes lithium tantalate, and a molar composition ratio of lithium oxide and tantalum oxide (LiO/TaO) in the lithium tantalate is in the range of 0.975 to 0.982. Since an optical material having a high refractive index is provided in an optical unit, at the same focal distance, a lens thickness can be significantly reduced. As a result, an optical electronic component and an optical electronic device including the optical material has a reduced size and thickness and is highly functional.

Lens material, optical electronic component and optical electronic device

A light modulation device comprises: a magnetic garnet single crystal having a main surface and an easy magnetization axis in parallel with the main surface; an optical source arranged such that light emitted from the optical source is introduced into the magnetic garnet single crystal and propagates in the magnetic garnet single crystal along a first direction on the main surface; and one or a pair of transducers provided on the main surface of the magnetic garnet single crystal for applying a microwave signal in a region of the magnetic garnet single crystal where the light from the optical source propagates, to modulate the light.

Light modulation device and filter device

An optical modulator includes a magnetic ferrite single crystal, an optical source, a photoreceptor system and an analyzer. The magnetic ferrite single crystal has a transducer mounted and arranged to receive a microwave. The microwave is modulated by a signal having a frequency lower than the microwave. Light emitted from the optical source is introduced to the magnetic garnet single crystal and modulated by the microwave applied to the transducer. The photoreceptor system receives the modulated light that is emitted from the magnetic ferrite single crystal. The analyzer is provided between the magnetic ferrite single crystal and the photoreceptor system, and the analyzer is arranged such that a rotation angle of the analyzer about an optical axis thereof is shifted by an angle in the range of about 40 degrees to about 50 degrees from an extinct position at which an amount of direct-current light transmitted through analyzer is minimized.
