A curable silicone composition for die bonding use contains at least (A) an organopolysiloxane having at least two alkenyl groups per molecule, (B) an organopolysiloxane having at least two siloxane units each represented by the formula: RHSiO (wherein R represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms and having no aliphatic unsaturated bond) per molecule, (C) a platinum-group metal-based catalyst for hydrosilylation reactions, (D) a hydrosilylation reaction inhibitor and (E) an adhesiveness-imparting agent, wherein the scorch time (ts1), which is defined in JIS K 6300-2, at a die bonding temperature is 20 to 60 seconds, and the 90% vulcanization time [tc(90)] with respect to the maximum torque value during the vulcanization time of 600 seconds is 300 to 500 seconds. The curable silicone composition for die bonding use according to the present invention can adhere a semiconductor chip to a support strongly.

One aspect is contemplated for providing a device having a liquid crystal material exhibiting a dielectric constant of 1000 or more at a temperature at which a specific liquid crystal phase is developed, and a unit configured to apply voltage to the liquid crystal material at the temperature at which the specific liquid crystal phase is developed.

Liquid crystal device

A liquid crystal medium that has stability to heat, light and so forth, a wide temperature range of a liquid crystal phase and significantly large dielectric anisotropy to develop an optically isotropic liquid crystal phase is required. Moreover, various optical devices that can be used in a wide temperature range, and have a short response time, a large contrast ratio and a low drive voltage are required. A liquid crystal medium having stability to heat, light and so forth, a wide liquid crystal phase temperature range, a low driving voltage and a small permittivity and exhibiting an optically isotropic liquid crystal phase is described. An optical device or the like having a short response time, a large contrast ratio, a low driving voltage and a small permittivity is also described. The liquid crystal composition contains an achiral component (T) and a chiral agent, and exhibits an optically isotropic liquid crystal phase. The achiral component (T) includes at least one compound represented by formula (1): wherein, for example, Ris alkyl having 1 to 12 carbons, Aand Aare 1,4-phenylene, Zand Zare single bonds, Zis &#x2014;COO&#x2014; or &#x2014;CFO&#x2014;, Lis hydrogen, fluorine or chlorine, Yis fluorine, chlorine, &#x2014;CFor &#x2014;OCF, n1 and n2 are each independently 0 or 1, and n1+n2&#x2267;1.

A silicone-rubber composition for coating textile fabrics characterized in that the silicone-rubber composition comprises the following components: an alkenyl group-containing organopolysiloxane (A) that comprises a mixture of an organopolysiloxane (A-1) that contains in one molecule at least two alkenyl groups in the amount not exceeding 2 mass % and an organopolysiloxane (A-2) that contains in one molecule at least two alkenyl groups in amount of 5 mass % or more; an organohydrogenpolysiloxane (B) that comprises a mixture of an organohydrogenpolysiloxane (B-1) that has in one molecule on average three silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms and an organohydrogenpolysiloxane (B-2) that has in one molecule on average two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms; a hydrosilylation catalyst (C); and a reinforcement fine silica powder (D); and elongation according to JIS K6251 of the cured product of the composition is equal to or greater than 800%.

Silicone rubber composition for coating for woven fabric, and coated woven fabric

Provided is a liquid curable silicone rubber composition containing the following components of (A), (B), (C) and (D): (A) 100 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane having one or more silicon atom-bonded alkenyl groups on average in one molecule, (B) (B-1) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane having at least three silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms in one molecule, wherein at least one of the hydrogen atoms is present as a siloxane unit represented by the formula of R1HSi02/2 (wherein R1 represents a non-substituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group containing no aliphatic unsaturated bond) in the molecule and (B-2) a linear organohydrogenpolysiloxane having one silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atom only at each of both terminals of the molecular chain and having no aliphatic unsaturated bond(s) in a molecule, [provided that the blending amount of component (B-1) and component (B-2) is an amount such that the molar ratio of silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms contained in component (B-1) and component (B-2):alkenyl groups contained in component (A) ranges from (0.8:1.0) to (2.5:1.0), and the total number of silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms contained in component (B-2) is 70 to 100% of the total number of silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms contained in component (B-1) and component (B-2); provided that when the aforementioned numerical value is 100%, component (B) consists only of (B-2).] (C) a hydrosilylation reaction catalyst: an amount to cure the present composition, and (D) 0.1 to 50 parts by weight of a reinforcing silica fine powder. A coated woven fabric with a silicone rubber-coated layer formed of a cured product of this liquid curable silicone rubber composition is suitable as a coated woven fabric for use in airbags.

A curable organopolysiloxane composition comprising at least the following components: (A) a linear diorganopolysiloxane with a mass average molecular weight of at least 3,000, (B) a branched organopolysiloxane, (C) an organopolysiloxane having, on average, at least two silicon-bonded aryl groups and, on average, at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms in one molecule, and (D) a hydrosilylation reaction catalyst; has excellent curability and, when cured, forms a flexible cured product of high refractive index, optical transmissivity, excellent adherence to various substrates, high hardness and slight surface tack.

Curable organopolysiloxane composition and semiconductor device

A curable silicone composition comprising at least the following components: (A) a diorganopolysiloxane having in one molecule at least two alkenyl groups; (B) at least two resin-like organopolysiloxanes that have different mass-average molecular weights as reduced into standard polystyrene measured gel permeation chromatography and that are composed of SiOunits, RRSiOunits, and RSiOunits, wherein Ris an optionally substituted univalent hydrocarbon group that is free of aliphatic unsaturated bonds and Ris an alkenyl group; (C) an organopolysiloxane that contains in one molecule at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms; and (D) a hydrosilylation catalyst; possesses excellent flowability and filling ability and that can be prepared without extreme viscosity even if the composition contains resin-like organopolysiloxanes required to form a cured silicone body of appropriate strength and hardness.

A spiro-oxazine compound represented by the following general formula (A) or (A') is a photochromic compound having an excellent fatigue resistance to repetition of coloration and decoloration and an abundance of hues: ##STR1## wherein the .alpha. ring is a ring selected from a 5-membered ring having one N atom, which may be connected to a benzene ring or naphthalene ring, and a 6-membered ring having one N atom, with the proviso that the N atom in the e ring is bonded to a C.sub.1-20 alkyl or another organic group, X is selected from O, S, Se and N-R.sup.1 (in which R.sup.1 is selected from H, and C.sub.1-20 alkyl and other organic groups), R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are selected from --OH, amino, C.sub.1-20 alkoxy, halogen, and other groups, and k is an integer of 0 to 2.

A spiro-oxazine compound represented by the following general formula (A) or (A') is a photochromic compound having an excellent fatigue resistance to repetition of coloration and decoloration and an abundance of hues: ##STR1## wherein the .alpha. ring is a ring selected from a 5-membered ring having one N atom, which may be connected to a benzene ring or naphthalene ring, and a 6-membered ring having one N atom, with the proviso that the N atom in the .alpha.ring is bonded to a C.sub.1-20 alkyl or another organic group, X is selected from O, S, Se and N--R.sup.1 (in which R.sup.1 is selected from H, and C.sub.1-20 alkyl and other organic groups), R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are selected from --OH, amino, C.sub.1-20 alkoxy, halogen, and other groups, and k is an integer of 0 to 2.

Spiro-oxazine compound

A novel spiro-oxazine compound of the formula (A): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 independently represent hydrogen, (C1 or 2) alkyl, halogenated (C1 or 2) alkyl, (C1 or 2) alkoxy, halogen or nitro, R is unsubstituted or substituted phenyl or naphthyl, and n is 1 to 5. The spiro-oxazine compound is prepared by reacting a precursor of the spiro-oxazine compound of the formula (A), which has a substituent of the formula: --(CH.sub.2).sub.n R in the nitrogen atom of the indoline nucleus, with an .alpha.-nitroso-.beta.-naphthol. The spiro-oxazine compound is valuable as a photochromic material and exhibits enhanced fatigue resistance in photocolorability.
