An ultrasound flaw detection device which detects abnormalities within a tube while moving in the tube by pressure of water flow. The ultrasound flaw detector includes an ultrasound probe () which emits an ultrasound wave from an inside of the tube to a tube wall and receives an echo signal, a pulser-receiver () which transmits a pulse signal to the ultrasound probe and to which the received echo signal is inputted, a memory unit () which stores the received echo signal, a control unit () which controls transmitting timing of the pulse signal from the pulser-receiver to the ultrasound probe and controls writing of the received echo signal to the memory unit, and a power supply unit (); a flexible member () which connects the plurality of parts of the ultrasound flaw detector; and a centering member () which keeps the ultrasound probe approximately centered within the tube.

Immersion-type ultrasound flaw detection device and ultrasound flaw detection system

Provided are an ultrasonic testing probe and an ultrasonic testing apparatus capable of reducing the time required for flaw detection while maintaining the flaw-detection capability, irrespective of the shape of the inner surface of a tested object. A first probe () and a second probe () are provided, in each of which a plurality of oscillators that transmit ultrasonic waves to a tested object (T) and detect the ultrasonic waves reflected from the tested object (T) are arrayed. The first probe () is disposed closer to a flaw in the tested object (T) than the second probe () is. The first probe () generates longitudinal ultrasonic waves that propagate on an inner surface (T) of the tested object (T) opposite to an outer surface (T) thereof where the first probe () and the second probe () are disposed and transverse ultrasonic waves that propagate from the outer surface (T) toward an inside of the tested object (T). The second probe () generates longitudinal ultrasonic waves that propagate on the outer surface (T) and longitudinal ultrasonic waves that propagate from the outer surface (T) toward the inside of the tested object (T).

A tube flaw detecting method detects a flaw portion in a heat exchanger tube constituting a boiler furnace wall using two probes, enabling one to carry out appropriate inspection work with a high efficiency. A transmitter probe and a receiver probe are juxtaposed in a circumferential direction, and an ultrasonic wave is transmitted from the transmitter probe to propagate. Repeated reflections occur at a tube inner surface and tube outer surface, and the wave is reflected at a crack extending in the circumferential direction to return, propagating likewise to be received by the receiver probe so that existence of the crack is confirmed. Thus, inspection work for a crack can be done with certainty with a simple arrangement.
