A heat-sensitive transfer sheet that is used in an image-forming method using a heat-sensitive transfer system, which method comprises the steps of superposing the heat-sensitive transfer sheet having at least one yellow heat transfer layer, at least one magenta heat transfer layer, and at least one cyan heat transfer layer on a support, and a heat-sensitive transfer image-receiving sheet having at least one dye receptor layer on a support, and then transferring at least three kinds of heat transferable dyes to the dye receptor layer sequentially, which heat-sensitive transfer sheet satisfies the following Formula (1):&#x3bc;1&#x3e;&#x3bc;2&#x3e;&#x3bc;3m&#x2003;&#x2003;Formula (1)where &#x3bc;1, &#x3bc;2 and &#x3bc;3 are coefficients of static friction as defined herein.

A support for image recording material, comprising a base paper and thermoplastic resin layers formed on both faces of the base paper, wherein: a formation index of the base paper is 60 or more; a surface of the base paper, at least on a side where an image recording layer is formed, has a center surface average roughness SRa of 0.70 &#x3bc;m or less when measured with a cut-off condition of within the range of 0.05 to 0.5 mm, and a center surface average roughness SRa of 0.80 &#x3bc;m or less when measured with a cut-off condition of within the range of 1 to 3 mm; and the thickness of the thermoplastic resin layer, at least on the side where the image recording layer is formed, is 35 to 60 &#x3bc;m.

A support for an image recording material for receiving at least an image recording layer. The center surface average roughness SRa of the support surface to be provided with an image recording layer is 0.15 &#x3bc;m or less when measured under a condition of a cutoff of 0.02 to 0.5 mm, and is 0.45 &#x3bc;m or less when measured under a condition of a cutoff of 1 to 3 mm.
