A dental handpiece includes a cylindrical outer body, an insert body that includes an ultrasonic vibrator, and is accommodated in the outer body, a front end portion of the insert body and a rear end portion of the insert body, a tip connection portion that detachably holds a scale tip to which ultrasonic vibration from the ultrasonic vibrator is transmitted, and a cleaning liquid flow path that guides a cleaning liquid supplied from a cleaning liquid injection port of the insert body to a front end portion of the outer body. The cleaning liquid flow path includes an immersion flow path in which the insert body is immersed in the cleaning liquid in the outer body and the cleaning liquid in which the insert body is immersed is discharged from the front end portion of the outer body.

A transducer cover for use in an ultrasonic medical instrument having a transducer is disclosed. The transducer cover includes a vibration absorbing layer of a generally cylindrical form made of a synthetic resin having a vibration absorbing property, and a chemical blocking layer of a generally cylindrical form made of a synthetic resin which is impermeable to water and chemicals. The vibration absorbing layer and the chemical blocking layer are coaxially laminated, and capable of sealing arrangement over and around the transducer. Also disclosed is an ultrasonic medical instrument having an ultrasonic transducer and the transducer cover, and a method for forming the transducer cover over and around an ultrasonic transducer of an ultrasonic medical instrument.

Tip for ultrasonic handpiece for oral surgery

An ultrasonic surgical instrument includes a proximal portion forming a socket attached to an ultrasonic vibration generating device and a distal portion. The instrument extends from the proximal portion to the distal portion along a main longitudinal axis and also includes a fluid channel. The distal portion includes a cutting portion, a fluid port and one or two radial bumps extending radially outwardly. The radial projections have a longitudinal position corresponding substantially to the longitudinal position of the cutting portion, whereby the radial bump provides a mark and/or a tactile location point beneath the skin for the surgeon for use in rhinoplasty or jaw surgery.

A liquid tank having an accommodation space in which a liquid L to be supplied to outside is accommodated includes a tank body having a mouth part with an opening, a cap mounted on the mouth part to close the opening, a liquid passage through which the liquid L in the liquid tank flows toward outside, a gas passage having a gap between the mouth part and the cap and a path communicatively connecting to the gap and the accommodation space, a liquid flow valve provided on the liquid passage to allow or inhibit a flow of the liquid L to outside, and an aeration valve provided on the gas passage to compensate for a negative pressure occurring in the accommodation space.
