An image forming apparatus comprises a housing including a resin frame. The resin frame is divided in a sheet feeding direction to include a conveyance frame, a process frame and a fixation frame. Moreover, the image forming apparatus comprises a driving unit and a drive frame. The driving unit is attachably and detachably provided in the drive frame, and applies a rotational driving force to rotating bodies. The drive frame is positioned with respect to the conveyance frame or the process frame, supports the rotating bodies, and has an attaching portion for the driving unit. Moreover, the drive frame is attached to one surface of the resin frame.

An image forming apparatus includes a duct through which air taken in from outside a housing is sent into the housing, a blower fan provided at an upstream end of the duct, a toner bottle provided facing a wall surface of the duct, and a fixing section provided on a downstream side of the toner bottle. A component-facing section facing the toner bottle is formed to be smaller in cross-sectional area than a fan placement section. Therefore, by absorbing heat of air around the toner bottle via a wall of the component-facing section, the component-facing section prevents the toner bottle from becoming hot.

The blocking chamber () includes an upstream opening () and a downstream opening () formed therein, the preform product (P) being received through the upstream opening () and transferred through the downstream opening (). The blocking chamber () includes: a gripper () for gripping the preform product (P); a sterilized rotation table () for conveying the gripped preform product (P) in a circular path; and a blocking wall () not in contact with the sterilized rotation table () and configured to block the X-rays.

One object is to provide an electron beam sterilization apparatus for sterilizing a preform product (P) by applying an electron beam while conveying the preform product (P), the apparatus comprising: an input star wheel () configured to convey the preform product (P) in a circular path; and an outer-surface electron beam application device and an inner-surface electron beam application device configured to apply an electron beam to the preform product (P) being conveyed by the input star wheel (). A blocking short tube () is provided on a lower surface of the star wheel plate () of the input star wheel () so as to block radioactive rays produced by application of the electron beam and surround a central axis () of the input star wheel (). The blocking short tube () includes a ventilation space () formed therein.

An image forming apparatus provided with a resin frame made of a resin, an image forming unit and a fixing unit includes a duct for allowing air to flow between the image forming unit and the fixing unit. The resin frame includes a main frame to which the image forming unit is attached, and a fixing unit attachment frame that is separate from the main frame and to which the fixing unit is attached, and the fixing unit attachment frame has a duct portion that constitutes at least one part of the duct.

An image forming apparatus of the present invention includes a resin frame composed of a resin and an image forming unit that is removably inserted in the resin frame. A mold opening direction of a mold for molding the guide portion is set to a direction parallel to the orthogonal direction, and downstream end portions of the side plate portion in the mold opening direction are integrally connected to each other and extend essentially parallel to the perimeter of the base.

A paper feeding apparatus used in a state where the apparatus accumulates paper sheets for an image forming apparatus to form images thereon and the paper feeding apparatus is attached to a main body of the image forming apparatus, wherein an engaging-holding member is provided for an exterior wall face of the paper feeding apparatus, and the engaging-holding member engages and holds the paper feeding apparatus with an exterior housing of the image forming apparatus so as to enable the paper feeding apparatus to move into/from the exterior housing of the image forming apparatus, is provided for an exterior wall face of the paper feeding apparatus, and wherein the engaging-holding member is provided for a specific one of the exterior wall faces of the paper feeding apparatus corresponding to the moving direction determined according to the specification of the image forming apparatus.

An exposure device includes a transmissive member and a shutter. The transmissive member allows passage therethrough of a light beam directed toward a scanning object. The shutter is mounted so as to be pivotable around a pivot shaft between a closed position and an open position. The shutter has a first member and a second member. In the closed position, the first member shields the transmissive member, and, in the open position, unshields the transmissive member so as to allow the light beam to pass through the transmissive member. In the closed position, the second member is positioned above the first member so as to extend at least beyond peripheral ends, including a free end, of the first member.

An image forming apparatus, determining in sorting recording sheets whether or not recording sheet transport interval is shorter than a first predetermined value, sets the longest time settable as a delay time when the interval is longer than the first value. When the interval is shorter than the first value, the apparatus, determining whether or not the interval is shorter than a second predetermined value, sets the shortest delay time settable when the interval is shorter than the second value, and sets a reference delay time when the interval is longer than the second value. The apparatus prevents sheet jam before a sheet eject mechanism by ensuring that the mechanism returns to an initial position before the front end of a following sheet reaches sheet eject rollers after the rear end of a preceding sheet passes through the rollers.

A first control member is disposed in a drum shaft away from a photoconductive drum, and a second control member is disposed in a roller shaft away from a transfer roller. The first and second control members abut on each other at their circumferential surfaces. This helps reduce an amount of displacement resulting from an impact caused by insertion of a recording paper sheet in between the photoconductive drum and the transfer roller, and thereby reduce vibrations in the photoconductive drum. Consequently, a toner image formed on the photoconductive drum and an unfixed toner image transferred onto the recording paper sheet are not affected by vibrations, so that a high-quality image is obtained that is free from blurriness or irregularities.
