A microbial oil is obtained from Labyrinthulomycetes in which a gene for fatty acid biosynthesis has been disrupted or an expression of the gene has been inhibited to highly accumulate the fatty acid. The microbial oil typically contains: (a) 1.5% or more of arachidonic acid (AA) based on a total amount of fatty acid; (b) 0.2% or more of dihomo-&#x3b3;-linolenic acid (DGLA) based on the total amount of fatty acid; (c) 0.04% or more of eicosatetraenoic acid (ETA) based on the total amount of fatty acid; (d) 3.8% or more of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) based on the total amount of fatty acid; (e) 13.7% or less of n-6 docosapentaenoic acid (n-6DPA) based on the total amount of fatty acid; and (f) 43.9% or less of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) based on the total amount of fatty acid.

Microbial oil containing fatty acids obtained from stramenopile and method of producing the same

A microbial oil is extracted from stramenopile transformed with a gene associated with synthesis of fatty acids, the gene encoding a fatty acid desaturase. The stramenopile belongs to the class Labyrinthulomycete. The microbial oil satisfies one or more of the following requirements: (a) an amount of arachidonic acid is 7% or less based on a total amount of the fatty acid composition; (b) an amount of DPA is 9% or less based on the total amount of the fatty acid composition; (c) an amount of ETA is 0.04% or more based on the total amount of the fatty acid composition; (d) an amount of EPA is 7% or more based on the total amount of the fatty acid composition; and (e) an amount of DHA is 45% or more based on the total amount of the fatty acid composition.

Microbial oil extracted from stramenopiles

An air-bag device includes an air bag stored in an inner side of a backrest in a vehicle width direction, and an inflator that inflates and expands the air bag. The air bag includes a first chamber that houses the inflator such that the longitudinal direction of the inflator matches the vertical direction of the air bag, and a second chamber that is located above the first chamber and is inflated and expanded by a gas ejected from an upper end of the inflator to form a tubular shape extending upward above the first chamber.

Air-bag device

To provide an airbag and an airbag device that can keep the internal pressure of the airbag in the initial stage of inflation and deployment high. An airbag includes a first chamber and a second chamber. The first chamber includes a nozzle forming a flow path capable of communicating with the second chamber, and a tether connecting the inner surface of the nozzle and the inner surface of the first chamber. During the inflation and deployment of the first chamber, the supply of gas to the second chamber is prevented by retracting the nozzle into the first chamber. After the first chamber is expelled into the cabin and when a predetermined external pressure is loaded on the first chamber, the nozzle is expelled into the second chamber so as to allow gas to be supplied to the second chamber.

Airbag and airbag device

An airbag and an airbag device are provided that can effectively prevent a rise of the internal pressure of the airbag when the airbag is hindered from being normally inflated/deployed while gas is prevented from being wasted. An airbag includes a pair of side panels that form a bag by being sewn together, an insertion hole formed in the side panel, and a valve disposed on an inner side of the side panel so as to stop up the insertion hole and having two end portions connected to the side panel. While the airbag is housed in the structure, the valve is drawn to an outer side of the side panel through the insertion hole and disposed so as to stop up the insertion hole and, while the airbag is inflated/deployed, the valve is drawn to the inner side of the side panel.

Disclosed is a transformation method whereby an ability to produce a useful substance of a stramenopile can be improved. The method for transforming a stramenopile comprises transferring a foreign gene into the stramenopile which is a microorganism belonging to the class, more specifically, to a genus, etc. Said foreign gene, which is a gene relating to tolerance against an antibiotic, a colorimetric protein and/or a fatty acid desaturase (&#x394;5 desaturase gene, &#x394;12 desaturase gene and/or &#x3c9;3 desaturase gene), is transferred by using the electroporation or gene-gun technique.

Method for transforming stramenopiles

To provide a transformation method for producing a stramenopile organism having an improved unsaturated fatty acid production capability by disrupting a gene of the stramenopile organism or inhibiting the expression of the gene in a genetically engineering manner. [Solution] A method for transforming a stramenopile organism, which comprises disrupting a gene of the stramenopile organism or inhibiting the expression of the gene in a genetically engineering manner, and which is characterized in that the stramenopile organism is selected fromandsp. and the gene to be disrupted or of which the expression is to be inhibited is a gene associated with the biosynthesis of a fatty acid.

Method for transformation of stramenopile

Provided is a side airbag device such that locally high stress is prevented from being generated at the sewn portion between panels by high temperature and pressure gas. An inner panel is folded in half, and the upper edges thereof are sewn together by a seam so as to form an inner bag. This inner bag is placed on an outer panel, the outer panel is folded in half, and the periphery thereof is sewn by a seam. An inflator equipped with a distributor is inserted into the inner bag through openings and, and a gas jetting portion is disposed in the immediate vicinity of a communication opening.

Thereby, the airbagis brought to be expanded along an outer surface of a body portion of the wearer as a whole.

Airbag jacket

An airbag for restraining an occupant includes a sheet-shaped web having a predetermined shape and a circumferential edge. The web is folded and arranged such that the circumferential edge is overlapped and gathered substantially in one location of the web and joined together so as to form a substantially sealed inner space inside the airbag.

In one form, an airbag is provided with a first bag as a bag formed by joining base fabrics which includes a gas inlet for supplying pressure fluid fed from an inflator inward and a discharge passage for discharging the pressure fluid supplied inward to an outside, a second bag as a bag formed by joining base fabrics which includes an intake passage for introducing the pressure fluid discharged from the discharge passage of the first bag inward, and a passage joint member for joining the discharge passage of the first bag and the intake passage of the second bag while maintaining each cross section shape of the passages.

Airbag device

To provide a seat that enhances the stability and expansion speed with respect to the inflation expansion performance of airbag unit disposed thereinside. In one form, a seat is provided comprising a backrest part covered at its entirety with top fabric material and, at a given region of the top fabric material, it is furnished with tear line; an airbag constituted of a bag consisting of two basis fabrics joined together and disposed within the backrest part so as to at the time of inflation, cleave the tear line and expand over the head of driver or passenger; and reinforcing fabric disposed on the top fabric material so as to inhibit any cleavage of the top fabric material at regions other than the tear line.

Seat airbag

To provide a seat device that can provide a smooth and stable deployment performance of an airbag. A seat device includes a backrestB, an airbag, and an upper guide memberand a lower guide member. The backrestB includes a tear line at an upper portion thereof. The airbagis formed of a bag member, in which base cloths are joined to each other, and is provided in an interior of the backrestB so that, during inflation, the airbagcleaves the tear lineand is deployed to an upper side of the head of an occupant.
