In an information recording device, variable-speed reproduction by software control is to be enabled. To this end, the information recording device has an HDD for recording an audio/visual digital data stream with a logical sector as an accessing unit, and an AV micro-computer system This AV micro-computer system has, as a recording data unit, a fixed length of the audio/visual digital data stream corresponding to an integer number multiple of a frame length. The AV micro-computer system allocates the recording data unit to a minimum number of the logical sectors that can record the recording data unit in its entirety, while stuffing dummy data in the remaining portion of a logical sector of the digital data stream.

Information recording method and apparatus and information recording medium

An audio signal and a video signal are recorded onto a hard disk. In the hard disk, by time-divisionally processing the recording and reproduction, they are executed in parallel. Audio data as much as four fields and corresponding video data as much as one field are constructed as one set and are time-sequentially recorded. In a one-time speed reproduction, the data is reproduced every set. The video data is repetitively reproduced for a period of time of four fields. In a double-speed reproduction, the video data is reproduced every other data and the audio data as much as four fields corresponding to the video data which is reproduced and the audio data as much as subsequent four fields are reproduced. To reproduce the audio data as much as eight fields for a period of time of four fields, the speed of the audio data is converted to a double speed and the audio data is continuously reproduced.

Video and audio signal recording and reproducing device and method

A recording/reproducing apparatus by which optimum playback pictures can be produced eve in case of parallel recording/reproduction. A storage unit transiently stores video signals obtained from an overwrite type disc-shaped recording medium . A signal processing unit decodes video signals stored in the storage unit . A holding unit holds video signals decoded by the signal decoding unit . A control unit performs control of the entire apparatus and also performs control for address management and data transfer of the disc-shaped recording medium so that, if the apparatus is set to a mode of performing a playback operation while the recording operation is going on, the storage means stores plural fields of the video signals and the holding unit interpolates the video signals.

Recording/reproducing apparatus

It is intended to make it possible to deal with an electronic apparatus as if it were a different kind of electronic apparatus. An editor outputs a command to be used in controlling a video cassette recorder to a 1394 communication section via an IEEE 1394 bus. A system controller receives the command according to the IEEE 1394 interface via a LINK and converts it into a command according to the IDE interface, which is output to an IDE controller. The IDE controller converts data that is input via the LINK and a FIFO memory into a command according to the IDE interface and supplies it to a HDD via an IDE interface.

Data processing apparatus for modifying information data between two interfaces and using control data of one interface to control a second interface

A received television broadcasting signal is always recorded to a hard disk. In the hard disk, by time-divisionally processing the recording and reproduction, they are executed in parallel. In the television broadcasting, when the user wants to see a video image which has already become a past image, a high speed reverse rotation reproduction is instructed by the user. The video image is switched from the video image by the television broadcasting to the reproduction video image reproduced from the hard disk. The user designates the reproducing position while seeing the video image reproduced by the reverse rotation. The forward rotation reproduction is started from the designated position. When a scene which the user wants to see is finished and the forward rotation reproduction is cancelled by the user, the video image is switched from the reproduction video image to the video image of the television broadcasting.

TV receiver having recording/reproducing functions and method of recording/reproducing TV signals

A recording and reproducing apparatus is disclosed which is capable of accurately recording and reproducing an image signal and an audio signal to and from a disk even if a non-standard image signal has been supplied, the recording and reproducing apparatus having a storing unit for temporarily storing the audio signal to be recorded on a rewritable-disk-type recording medium and for outputting storage information which is information of the quantity of stored audio signals. A recording/reproducing unit changes the number of sectors of the disk type recording medium within a predetermined number of sectors to record the audio signal stored in the storage unit in synchronization with the image signal. A memory unit memorizes information of the sectors of the disk type recording medium on which the audio signals have been recorded as management information. The recording/reproducing unit reproduces the audio signal recorded on the disk type recording medium in synchronization with the image signal in accordance with management information memorized by the memory unit.
