A compressor includes a rotary shaft, a cam, a cylinder block, pistons, a thrust bearing, a rotary valve, and an oil passage. The rotary shaft has an in-shaft passage formed therein. The cam rotates integrally with the rotary shaft. The pistons are coupled to the rotary shaft through the cam. The thrust bearing is provided between the cam and the cylinder block. The thrust bearing includes a first race in contact with the cam, a second race in contact with the cylinder block, and rolling elements retained between the first and second races to form a gap therebetween. The oil passage extends from the gap to the in-shaft passage and includes an oil retaining space formed in at least one of the cam and the cylinder block.

Piston compressor

A compressor includes a housing, compression unit, discharge chamber, outlet, and oil separation structure. The oil separation structure, which is arranged between the discharge chamber and the outlet, includes an oil reservoir, oil separation compartment, intake passage, exhaust passage, and supply passage. The oil separation compartment is located upward from the oil reservoir. The intake passage, which extends upward from the oil separation compartment, draws refrigerant gas into the oil separation compartment from the discharge chamber to separate lubrication oil from the refrigerant gas. The exhaust passage extends upward from the oil separation compartment and discharges the refrigerant gas in the oil separation compartment out of the housing through the outlet. The supply passage extends upward from the oil separation compartment and has a larger cross-sectional area than the intake passage. The supply passage supplies the oil reservoir with lubrication oil from the oil separation compartment.

Compressor

A compressor compressing a fluid including lubricating oil includes, on the discharge side thereof, a first separation chamber for separating the lubricating oil by generating a swirling flow in the fluid. The first separation chamber includes: a circumferential wall; an inflow port that is formed in the circumferential wall and causes the fluid to flow into the first separation chamber; and a guiding plate extending from the circumferential wall. The guiding plate extends so as to face the inflow port in a direction where the fluid flows from the inflow port into the first separation chamber, and so as to deflect the fluid flow from the inflow port to guide it along an inner circumferential surface of the circumferential wall.

A scroll compressor includes an orbiting scroll member, a drive mechanism accommodation space, a rotary shaft, a drive bushing, an upstream space, a downstream space, a first communication passage and a second communication passage. The upstream space and the downstream space are formed in the drive mechanism accommodation space by a plain bearing, the drive bushing and an eccentric pin of the rotary shaft. The second communication passage passes through at least the drive bushing and allows the upstream space and the downstream space to communicate with each other. A control valve is disposed in the second communication passage. Centrifugal force of the control valve developed when the rotary shaft is rotated at a predetermined speed or higher causes the control valve to move in a direction in which the second communication passage is opened, thereby to allow the upstream space and the downstream space to communicate with each other.

Scroll compressor with control valve for controlling cooling capacity based on speed and centrifugal force

A compressor has auxiliary and main oil reservoir chambers that retain lubricant oil that is separated from refrigerant in an oil separation chamber. A part of the auxiliary oil reservoir chamber is defined by a peripheral wall of the oil separation chamber. An introducing passage for introducing lubricant oil in the oil separation chamber to the auxiliary oil reservoir chamber is formed in the peripheral wall. The inlet of the introducing passage opens to the oil separation chamber on the inner surface of the peripheral wall. The outlet of the introducing passage opens to the auxiliary oil reservoir chamber. The main oil reservoir chamber is located below the auxiliary oil reservoir chamber in the direction of gravity. A drain port for draining lubricant oil in the auxiliary oil reservoir chamber to the main oil reservoir chamber is formed in a bottom wall of the auxiliary oil reservoir chamber.

A scroll type compressor has a rotary shaft, a fixed scroll member, a movable scroll member and a rib. The fixed scroll member has a fixed end plate and a fixed scroll wall. The fixed end plate has first and second sides. The fixed scroll wall is formed on the first side. The movable scroll member has a movable end plate and a movable scroll wall. The movable scroll wall is formed on the movable end plate. The movable scroll member is adapted to make an orbital motion in accordance with the rotation of the rotary shaft whereby a compression chamber to decrease the volume of the compression chamber with the orbital motion of the movable scroll member is formed between the fixed scroll member and the movable scroll member. The rib is provided on the second side so as to extend behind the inner end of the fixed scroll wall.

Scroll type compressor having reinforced fixed scroll

A compressor includes a rotary shaft, a cam, a cylinder block, pistons, a thrust bearing, a rotary valve, and an oil passage. The rotary shaft has an in-shaft passage formed therein. The in-shaft passage has an outlet open to the outer peripheral surface of the rotary shaft. The cam rotates integrally with the rotary shaft. The pistons are coupled to the rotary shaft through the cam. The thrust bearing is provided between the cam and the cylinder block. The thrust bearing includes a first race in contact with the cam, a second race in contact with the cylinder block, and rolling elements retained between the first and second races to form a gap therebetween. The oil passage is formed in the outer peripheral surface of the rotary shaft so as to extend from the gap to the outlet of the in-shaft passage.

A double-headed piston type compressor includes front and rear housings, a cylinder block defining therein a crank chamber and a plurality of cylinder bores and having a shaft hole therethrough, a double-headed piston accommodated in the cylinder bores for reciprocating therein, a rotary shaft rotatably supported by the shaft hole, compression chambers defined by the cylinder bores, a suction chamber defined by the front housing and an introduction passage having a rotary valve for introducing refrigerant from the suction chamber into the compression chambers. The introduction passage includes a communication passage formed in the cylinder block for connecting the suction chamber to the shaft hole, suction passages connecting the shaft hole and the compression chambers and a recessed passage formed in the outer circumferential surface of the rotary shaft for connecting intermittently between the communication passage and the respective suction passages in accordance with the rotation of the rotary shaft.

Double-headed piston type compressor

A swash plate includes a boss, which is mounted on the drive shaft, and a plate portion, which extends from the boss to be inclined with respect to the drive shaft. A rotary valve includes a suction passage, which sequentially connects cylinder bores in a suction stroke via an associated guide passage. An introduction guide communicates with the shaft bore to introduce the refrigerant gas in the swash plate chamber to the rotary valve. The introduction guide faces the boss and extends in the radial direction from the shaft bore beyond the boss. Therefore, suction efficiency of refrigerant gas from the swash plate chamber to the cylinder bore has improved.

Swash plate type compressor

A mechanism for drawing in refrigerant to front compression chambers () of a double-headed piston type compressor differs from a mechanism for drawing in refrigerant to rear compression chambers (). More specifically, the mechanism for drawing in refrigerant to the front compression chambers () include suction valves () configured by flap valves. The mechanism for drawing in refrigerant to the rear compression chambers () is configured by a rotary valve (). Thus, pulsation of the compressor is reduced, so that the generation of noise is suppressed. As a result, a quiet compressor is achieved.

The wear resistant aluminum alloy elongate body contains 7-13 mass % of Si, 0.001-0.3 mass % of iron, 2.0-5.0 mass % of Cu, 0.3-1.0 mass % of Mg, 0.001-0.3 mass % of Mn, 0.001-0.3 mass % of Cr, 0.003-0.03 mass % of Sr, 0.005-0.05 mass % of Ti, and the remaining part of Al and unavoidable impurity. Further, crystal texture of Al alloy is one selected from the group consisting of hot rolled texture, re-crystallized texture and mixed texture of hot rolled texture and re-crystallized texture.

A lubricating structure in a fixed displacement piston type compressor has a housing, a rotary shaft, a cam, a piston, a rotary valve and a rotary body. The housing defines a cam chamber, cylinder bores and a suction pressure region. The rotary shaft is rotatably supported by the housing. The cam is located in the cam chamber and is connected to the rotary shaft. The piston is located in each of the cylinder bores and engages the cam to reciprocate with rotation of the rotary shaft through the cam. The rotary valve connected to the rotary shaft includes an introducing passage and a supply passage that interconnects the introducing passage and the suction pressure region. The introducing passage introduces fluid into the cylinder bores through the supply passage. The rotary body connected to the rotary shaft includes a communication passage that interconnects the cam chamber and the suction pressure region.

Lubricating structure in fixed displacement piston type compressor

A lubricating structure in a piston type compressor has a housing, a device for being lubricated and a rotary shaft. The housing defines an accommodating chamber and a suction pressure region. The device for being lubricated is located in the accommodating chamber. The rotary shaft is rotatably supported by the housing. The rotary shaft includes a supply passage, a communicating port, a lubricating hole and a flow guiding portion. The supply passage transfers fluid that contains lubricant. The communicating port interconnects the supply passage and the suction pressure region. The lubricating hole interconnects the accommodating chamber and the supply passage. The flow guiding portion is formed on a circumferential surface of the supply passage and is located near the lubricating hole. The flow guiding portion guides the lubricant toward the lubricating hole.

Apparatus for lubricating piston type compressor

A climate controller for an automobile, comprising a compressor and a receiver arranged in an engine compartment of the automobile, a condenser located at an outside-air inlet of the engine compartment, an expansion member and an evaporator disposed in a passenger compartment of the automobile, and a closed-loop refrigerant passage connecting the compressor, the condenser, the receiver, the expansion member and the evaporator in sequence for circulating a refrigerant through these components to establish a refrigerating cycle. The climate controller further includes a valve arranged in a part of the closed-loop refrigerant passage extending from the evaporator through the compressor to the condenser. The valve is actuated to intersect a communication of the refrigerant through the part of the passage when an operation affecting temperature of both the compressor and the condenser becomes ineffective, and to allow the communication when the operation becomes effective.
