A voltage detection apparatus comprises discharge circuits constituted by switch elements and resistors connected in series, and respectively connected in parallel to each of a plurality of battery cells constituting a storage battery, filter circuits provided for the respective battery cells and removing noise contained in voltage inputted by the battery cells, and voltage detection units (D) and (M) which detect voltage of the respective battery cells in which noise is removed by the filter circuits. The voltage detection units correct detection results, based on time from when the switch elements of the discharge circuits change into an OFF state to timing for detecting voltage of the battery cells. With this voltage detection apparatus, it is possible to correct the detection error of the voltage of the battery cell due to the influence of the filter circuit, thus improving the detection accuracy of the voltage of the battery cell.

A vehicle braking system includes a master cylinder for producing an upstream hydraulic pressure corresponding to an operation given to a brake operation part, a shut-off valve provided between the master cylinder and a wheel cylinder, a hydraulic-pressure source for producing a downstream hydraulic pressure between the shut-off valve and the wheel cylinder in a close instruction receiving condition of the shut-off valve, and a controller for setting a target value of the downstream hydraulic pressure based on an operation amount and controlling the downstream hydraulic pressure based on the target value. According to the vehicle braking system, a driver is prevented from feeling discomfort through a brake operation without an increase in a power consumption of a shut-off valve provided between the master cylinder and the wheel cylinder.

An inverter device is provided with a semiconductor device, an input terminal, an intermediate terminal, an output terminal and an insulated substrate on which the semiconductor device, the input terminal, the intermediate terminal and the output terminal are mounted. Each of the input terminal, the intermediate terminal and the output terminal is a separated module such that one of the input terminal, the intermediate terminal and the output terminal is spatially independent from the other.

In a surface finishing method for a stainless steel material, excimer irradiation is made on a surface of the stainless steel material by emitting ultraviolet light to improve wetness. Then, a surface finishing is applied on the surface of the stainless steel material wherein the wetness is improved. In manufacturing a gasket, the stainless steel material or plate is cut in a predetermined shape, and holes and bead are formed in the metal formation plate. Then, the plate may be assembled with other plate.

A metal gasket is formed of a metal base plate for sealing between two members. The metal gasket has a bead around a cylinder bore and a bead around a fluid hole on the metal base plate. Coatings are applied on both surfaces of the beads, respectively. When the metal gasket is tightened, strong sealing surface pressures are locally generated at sealing line portions of the beads. The coatings are applied only on other portions except for the sealing line portions.

A cylinder head gasket for an internal combustion engine is formed of one metal plate having a base portion extending substantially throughout an entire area to be sealed, a hole formed in the base portion corresponding to the hole of the engine, and a bead surrounding the hole. A resin coating is deposited on at least a part of the bead of the metal plate. Thus, the bead is reinforced and sealing ability is improved.
