A rotor () for a rotary electric machine has a plurality of magnetic poles () provided at intervals, in a circumferential direction, at the outer periphery of a rotor core (). Each of the magnetic poles () has a first permanent magnet () buried in the center of the magnetic pole, and a pair of second permanent magnets () that are buried on both sides of the first permanent magnet () in the circumferential direction, and that are disposed such that a mutual spacing between the pair of the second permanent magnets () becomes narrower inward in the radial direction. A narrowest spacing between the pair of second permanent magnets () is set to be wider than a longitudinal-direction width of the first permanent magnet () in a magnetic path region () that is defined by the first permanent magnet () and the pair of second permanent magnets ().

Rotor for the electric machine

A rotating electrical machine includes a rotor which has a rotor core formed by stacking magnetic plates having an annular plate shape in an axial direction, a permanent magnet is inserted into a magnet insertion hole formed in the rotor core, and a rotor shaft is inserted into a shaft insertion hole surrounded by an inner peripheral surface of the rotor core; and a stator. A radial communication passage is formed by a communication penetration hole group that is formed by sequentially communicating a plurality of the penetration holes from a shaft insertion hole to a magnetic resistance hole in the radial direction. The plurality of the penetration holes are divided into at least two specific magnetic plates and formed such that the radial positions of the penetration holes are different from each other and the penetration holes partially overlap each other when viewed in the axial direction.

Rotating electrical machine having radial communication passages in permanent magnet rotor

In a rotor for a rotary electric machine, a plurality of magnetic poles are provided in a radially outer portion of the rotor iron core, at intervals in the circumferential direction. Each magnetic pole includes a pair of permanent magnets disposed apart from each other in the circumferential direction, and a magnetic flux-restraining hole that is formed and extended radially inwardly between radially inner end portions of the permanent magnets and that restrains flow of magnetic flux. The magnetic flux-restraining hole is extended so as to project beyond a position of the radially inner end portions to a radially outer side, between the pair of permanent magnets.

Rotor for rotary electric machine having a magnetic flux-restraining hole

A rotary electric machine configured with a stator, rotor, and permanent magnets disposed in an inverted V-shape that becomes gradually narrower from a side of a center of rotation of the rotor. The rotor is provided with a plurality of support portions that extend radially about the center of rotation, and gap portions are respectively formed in correspondence with the plurality of support portions at positions spaced by a predetermined distance from an edge portion of the permanent magnets in a flowing direction of magnetic flux between the permanent magnets and the stator. The gap portions are formed to have such a length that causes magnetic saturation during generation of low torque in a low-current state and that causes no magnetic saturation during generation of maximum torque in a high-current state in which electricity at a high current is supplied to the stator coil.

Rotary electric machine with improved energy efficiency

A control section determines either EV travel or HV travel to control drive of an engine. A ratio calculation section calculates an EV/HV travel ratio, and a display section displays the EV/HV ratio as a percentage. In this way it is possible to easily recognize the EV/HV travel ratio.

Hybrid vehicle

A test circuit first detects whether or not a relay unit is normal, and then examines an operation of leakage detecting circuit. This allows relay unit to interrupt an electric power supply path including power lines more securely if electrical leakage occurs in the electric power supply path. If welding in the contact of the relay unit is detected before starting charging of a power storage device included in an electrical device, a control device does not allow the charging of the power storage device, which can prevent a problem from occurring in the electrical device.

In a motor control system and method controlled by a d-axis current command value i.sub.ds and a q-axis current command value i.sub.qs, a d-axis voltage command value V.sub.d * and a q-axis voltage command value v.sub.q * are computed on the basis of d-axis current deviation .DELTA.i.sub.d of d-axis current value i.sub.d from the d-axis current command value i.sub.ds and q-axis current deviation .DELTA.i.sub.q of q-axis current value i.sub.q from the q-axis current command value i.sub.qs and on the basis of q-axis inductance value L.sub.q and d-axis inductance value L.sub.d wherein the inductance values L.sub.q and L.sub.d are tuned or adjusted so that the d-axis current deviation .DELTA.i.sub.d and q-axis current deviation .DELTA.i.sub.q approach zero.

Control system and method for motors

A drive system comprises first and second motors for driving an electric car in response to alternating electric currents supplied to their coils. The first and second motors have their respective first and second rotors assembled on a common shaft at angular positions which are shifted by a first predetermined angle in their direction of rotation. Moreover, the first and second motors are energized by currents which are shifted in phase by a second predetermined angle. The first and second predetermined angles are individually determined in advance on the basis of the undesirable torque-fluctuation harmonic and the polar ratio of the motor. As a result, the torque fluctuations of the selected harmonic of the motor frequency of the first and second motors can offset each other to reduce the vibrations due to resonances.

Drive system for electric cars

An electromobile includes a motor; an output torque cutting commanding circuit for commanding the cutting of the output torque of the motor responsive to detection of a predetermined condition; and output torque command calculator for calculating an output torque command corresponding to the speed and accelerator opening of the electromobile and changing its output torque command to a value for stopping the motor in response to a command from the output torque cutting commanding circuit. A motor driving circuit feeds a motor current to the motor in accordance with the output torque command which is calculated by the output torque command calculator; and an output torque cutting circuit, packaged in the motor driving circuit for cutting the output torque of the motor in direct response to the command of the torque cutting commanding circuit.

Electromobile

A motor for an electromobile includes a rotor having permanent magnets and a stator coil for generating an output torque when fed with a motor current. A rotor position detector or resolver is connected to the spindle of the rotor for detecting the magnetic position of the rotor in terms of a voltage waveform and a motor controller controls the output current to the motor on the basis of the magnetic position signal coming from the rotor position detector. A first malfunction detecting circuit detects any malfunction of the rotor position detector in response to an abnormal voltage waveform coming from the rotor position detector. A second disconnection detecting circuit detects a disconnection of the motor controller from the invertor which develops drive current for the motor. A control unit outputs a signal to the motor controller for stopping the motor in response to a signal from either the first malfunction detecting circuit or the second disconnection detecting circuit.

Electric motor control with malfunction detection

An electric motor equipped with a cooling apparatus in which an oil reservoir (2b) filled with a cooling oil is provided in the lower portion of a casing (1). Provided in the casing is at least a portion of an oil passageway (2f, 4c, 28) which communicates with the oil reservoir (2b) and which opens within the casing (1) above and below a coil (6d) of the motor. The oil casing is internally provided with an oil pump (27) which causes the cooling oil to flow through the oil passageway (2f, 4c, 28). Accordingly, the cooling apparatus, which comprises the oil reservoir (2b), at least a portion of the oil passageway (2f, 4c, 28) and the oil pump (27), is provided within the casing (1) of the electric motor and integrated therewith. As a result, the electric motor is made more compact overall despite the provision of the cooling apparatus. Since the coil (6d) of the motor is positively cooled by the cooling apparatus, a large current can be passed through the coil. This enables the electric motor to generate a high output torque.

A cooling device for a vehicle motor comprises a rotation shaft rotatably supported by a casing assembly, a rotor fixed to the rotation shaft, a stator disposed around the rotor and fixed to the casing assembly, a coil wound around the stator, an oil pump motor disposed at a lower portion of the casing assembly, an oil passage faced to the coil and formed in an upper portion of the casing assembly, a cooling fin formed on a side wall of the casing assembly, a separator plate being in contact with the cooling fin, an oil passage cover combined with the separator plate to form an oil passage therebetween, and a cooling fin formed on the oil passage cover.
