An imaging device for dental treatment for use in an instrument for dental treatment with a head to which a rotary cutting tool can be attached. The imaging device for dental treatment comprises: an imaging module with an imaging element; and a mounting section through which the imaging module is detachably attached to the instrument for dental treatment such that the imaging module is on the bottom side or on the lateral side of the head, and that the imaging module is in a posture that causes the imaging axis of the imaging module and the rotary axis of the rotary cutting tool to be substantially parallel.

A diagnostic/treatment instrument such as a handpiece equipped with a dental treatment tool, etc. is provided with a light radiating unit that can distinctively detect a dental lesion, to facilitate the treatment of the lesion. A light source for emitting light that can distinctively detect the lesion is mounted near the head of the handpiece to which a diagnostic/treatment tool can be attached. The light emitted from the light source illuminates an area forward of the diagnostic/treatment tool. Alternatively, the light source comprises a plurality of light-emitting devices which are arranged around the periphery of the forward end of the handpiece head in such a manner as to encircle the diagnostic/treatment tool, and radiates light to illuminate the area forward of the diagnostic/treatment tool. When an oral cavity is illuminated with the light, a clinician can observe reflected fluorescent light by using a filtering function that passes the fluorescent light, and thus the clinician can perform the treatment while checking the lesion.

A medical lighting apparatus for irradiating an affected part with light includes: a light source (a light emitting element); a light condenser (a collimate lens and a condenser lens) for condensing light emitted from the light source; an image forming unit (an image lens) for forming an image on the affected part from the light condensed by the light condenser; and an aperture portion provided between the light condenser and the image forming unit and regulating passage of the light condensed by the light condenser.
