The present invention provides a compressor capable of arranging a refrigerant discharge port regardless of the location of a separation chamber. In this compressor, a separation tube is pressed in through an opening of the separation chamber, and by engaging a regulating ring with an engagement groove provided in the inner wall of the separation chamber, the movement of the separation tube in the anti-insertion direction is regulated. Therefore, unlike the conventional compressor, a refrigerant discharge pipe for regulating the movement of the separation tube in the anti-insertion direction need not be connected to the upper part of the separation tube, and the refrigerant discharge port can be arranged freely regardless of the location of the separation section.

A scroll compressor has a fixed scroll including a fixed spiral wall and a movable scroll including a movable spiral wall. Inner end portions of the fixed and movable spiral walls each have an arc-like shape. The inner end portion of the fixed spiral wall has smaller width than the inner end portion of the movable spiral wall does.

Scroll compressor

A motor-driven compressor is formed integrally with a compressor device for compressing refrigerant and a motor for driving the compressor device. The motor-driven compressor includes a drive circuit and a plurality of cooling fins. The drive circuit controls the operation of the motor. The drive circuit is provided on an outer surface of a wall of a refrigerant suction route. The plurality of cooling fins are formed on an inner surface of the wall of the refrigerant suction route. In such motor-driven compressors, the drive circuit may be sufficiently cooled without using cooling devices. As a result, providing cooling devices with the drive circuit in motor-driven compressors is no longer necessary.

Motor-driven compressors

A scroll-type compressor includes a fixed and an orbiting scroll each having an end plate. A ball coupling means preventing the orbiting scroll from rotating, includes a first race and a second race and a plurality of balls. The balls are engaged between ball rolling grooves on the first race and ball rolling grooves on the second race. Each of an interior circular portion and an exterior circular portion of the first race and the second race is connected to the orbiting scroll and the front housing. Each of a clearance is created between the first race and the orbiting scroll, and between the second race and the front housing. The structure for the scroll-type compressor according to this invention may reduce the number of parts compared to known scroll-type compressor, and may maintain stability of an orbital motion of an orbiting scroll, when thrust load is high.

Rotation preventing mechanism for scroll-type fluid displacement apparatus

A scroll-type compressor includes a fixed first scroll member, an orbital second scroll member, and a ball coupling provided as a rotation preventing mechanism for the second scroll member. The ball coupling has a pair of plates integrally formed with ring-like ball rolling grooves and a plurality of balls disposed therebetween. The compressor comprises a driven crank mechanism creating a swing motion for producing an orbital movement of the second scroll member. The amount of variation of the swing angle due to the driven crank mechanism is set within a range predetermined in accordance with a diameter of a ring form of each of the ring-like ball rolling grooves. The variation of the orbital radius of the orbital movement of the second scroll member corresponding to the swing angle may be regulated within a most appropriate range, thereby preventing occurrence of problems in the rotation preventing mechanism with respect to abrasion, performance and durability.

Scroll-type compressor

In scroll-type fluid apparatus in which a flap valve is provided to face a discharge port for discharging a fluid, the flap valve has a bridging portion which is between a supporting portion and a closing portion and has a narrow part narrower than the supporting and the closing portions. The supporting portion is fixed to the apparatus. The closing portion faces the discharge port. A scroll-type transferring mechanism is coupled to the discharge port and transfers the fluid towards the discharge port to discharge the fluid through the discharge port.

In a scroll-type fluid machine in which a movable scroll member (3) is placed between a front housing (1) and a fixed scroll member (4), the movable scroll member is elastically urged towards the fixed scroll member by an urging member. The movable and the fixed scroll members are engaged with each other to form a compression space (6) therebetween. It is preferable that the urging member is composed by at least one of races (24, 25) of a ball coupling (5) which is placed between the stationary and the movable scroll members and is for preventing the movable scroll member from being rotated relative to the fixed scroll member.

A scroll type fluid displacement apparatus comprises a housing having a front end plate and at least one hole formed on an inner surface thereof, a fixed member attached to the housing, an orbiting ring assembly including an orbiting member having an end plate from which an annular member extends, and an orbiting ring fastened to an axial end surface of said end plate of said orbiting member. The orbiting member has at least one hole formed on the axial end surface thereof. The scroll type fluid displacement further comprises a fixed ring assembly attached to the housing, including a fixed ring fastened to an inner surface of the housing facing the orbiting ring of the orbiting assembly. Each of the fixed and orbiting rings have a plurality of corresponding pockets, each pocket on the fixed ring facing a pocket on the orbiting ring of approximately the same size, pitch, and radial distance, and at least one opening formed in each of said fixed and orbiting rings. A rotation preventing and thrust bearing means is connected to the orbiting assembly for carrying axial loads from said orbiting assembly and preventing the rotation of said orbiting assembly, so that at least one line contact moves toward a compressor discharge side during orbital motion. The rotation preventing and thrust bearing means further includes a plurality of bearing elements, one each being placed within each pair of facing pockets. The corresponding pockets including a predetermined number of rotation preventing pockets on each of the fixed and orbiting rings for interacting with the bearing elements to prevent rotation of the orbiting member during orbital motion. Each of at least one hole of the inner surface of the housing and at least one hole in the axial end of the orbiting scroll member has a diameter smaller than that of each of said at least one opening of the fixed ring and said at least one opening of the orbiting ring, such that the eccentric relationships between the centers of said openings can be measured with respect to the centers of said holes. The rotation preventing and thrust bearing means can then be assembled using a fixed ring assembly and an orbiting ring assembly which have the same or substantially similar eccentric characteristics.
