A communication device which solves a new problem, that is, a power amplifier has oscillation caused by providing a conductive body which reduces the effects of the noise on a chip antenna, includes: a chip antenna which catches radio waves of a desired frequency; an RF circuit which is implemented on a printed wiring board and which converts received signals input from the chip antenna to a low frequency; a digital circuit which is implemented on the printed wiring board and which demodulates the received signals in a low frequency input from the RF circuit; a conductive body which is extended between the chip antenna and the digital circuit while being maintained at a certain height from the printed wiring board, and which has an end connected to a ground conductive body of the printed wiring board; and a radio wave absorption body which is attached to the conductive body.

A digital portable radio having a plane antenna, which minimizes the area of a board occupied by a built-in antenna without deteriorating gain. More specifically, a built-in antenna radiation element having a conductor capable of being electrically connected to a power feed circuit provided on the circuit substrate is fixed on the internal wall of the casing. A built-in antenna which accomplishes high gain and occupies a small area is obtained. Further, the antenna radiation element is formed from a metal plate and has a branch where one end of a longer radiation element formed from a thin metal plate is connected to one end of a shorter radiation element, and the other end of each of the radiation elements is open. Further, gap is formed by bringing the open end of the longer radiation element in close proximity to the open end of the shorter radiation element. Impedance matching is accomplished by utilization of coupling capacitance developed in the gap. The antenna radiation element becomes a quarter &lgr; non-grounding multiple resonance built-in antenna by feeding of power to the branch. This antenna is fitted on the internal wall of the casing of the portable radio.

A shared antenna in that a linear antenna is electrically connected to the upper end of a power pin of a microstrip plane antenna via a capacitive element. The shared antenna is used in both satellite communications and ground communications and can be used without a need of mechanical switching of the antenna. Further, crimped radiating elements having spatial expansion are electrically connected to the vicinity of the upper end of a feed pin of a microstrip plane antenna via a capacitive element, thereby realizing superior impedance matching and radiation patterns of the shared antenna.
