A fire resistant resin composition, a method of making the fire resistant resin composition and an electrical wire comprising the fire resistant resin composition are provided. The fire resistant composition includes a halogen-free propylene resin containing propylene as its main monomer component, a halogen-free styrene-based thermoplastic elastomeric resin modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative of such an acid, and a fire resistant metal hydroxide.

An electrical wire and a method of making the electrical wire are provided. The electrical wire includes a conductor and an electrically insulating covering on the conductor. The covering is a resin composition including a first polymer, a second polymer and filler particles. A good balance of properties is achieved. The electrical wire is suitable for use in a vehicle.

Pipe of hard thermoplastic resin, pipe joint structure and methods of manufacturing the same

A lamp circuit for lighting a head lamp and a high beam lamp of an automobile is provided. A first lamp circuit includes a common circuit, an ordinary lighting circuit, and a daylight running lighting circuit. A second lamp circuit is connected to the first lamp circuit. A portion of the common circuit is connected to positive and negative sides of the head lamp and the high beam lamp on one side of the automobile. When the automobile is configured for ordinary lighting conditions, a remaining portion of the common circuit is connected to circuit elements for ordinary lighting and the second lamp circuit, the ordinary lighting circuit connects the common circuit, as connected to the positive side of the high beam lamp, with the circuit elements for ordinary lighting, and the daylight running lighting circuit does not form any circuit. When the automobile is configured for daylight running lighting, the remainder of the common circuit and the daylight running lighting circuit is connected to circuit elements for daylight running lighting and the second lamp circuit, and the ordinary lighting circuit does not form any circuit.

Flame-resistant resin composition is prepared for use as a coating material and applied to electrical cables. The resin composition is not cross-linked, and contains no halogen. It is highly formable, flexible, heat-resistant and oil proof. The flame-resistant flexible resin composition includes 100 parts by weight of polymeric material including about 50 to 90 parts by weight of thermoplastic elastomer copolymer including polyolefin and rubber, about 5 to 25 parts by weight of a second copolymer including ethylene and vinyl-based compound containing at least one carbonyl group, and up to about 25 parts by weight of polyolefin having a crystallinity of at least about 55%, and about 30 to 200 parts by weight of at least one metal hydroxide a surface of which has not been treated with stearic acid.

Flame-resistant flexible resin compositions for electrical cable coatings

A heating furnace is used in a drawing device for drawing a base material made of plastic. The base material is fed into the heating furnace, melted under heat and drawn into a plastic optical fiber. The heating furnace is divided into a pre-heating zone located upstream and a heat-melting zone located downstream in the advancing direction of the base material and of the plastic optical fiber made therefrom. The preheating zone includes a pre-heater for pre-heating the base material, while the heat-melting zone includes a melting heater for melting the base material. Both zones are controllable independently so as to give an appropriate temperature for each zone.

Heating furnace for a device for drawing a plastic optical fiber

A flat electrical wire having a substantially rectangular cross-section is prepared from an electrical conductor having a circular cross-section, first by applying a benzimidazol-based polymer coat to the wire, then rolling the coated conductor to yield the flat wire. The flat wire thus prepared has a high heat resistance and dielectric breakdown resistance and can avoid dislocation or slippage when used in a magnet coil.
