An electronic apparatus chassis includes a first chassis member, a second chassis member, and screws that fasten the chassis members to each other. In addition, the electronic apparatus chassis includes an engagement piece and a receiving portion that connect each of edge portions of the first chassis member to the second chassis member. In the electronic apparatus chassis, the first chassis member and the second chassis member are configured such that the relative positions thereof are not substantially changed when the screw is loosened and removed from the screw hole, and a relative movement thereof is provided in a direction away from each other when the screw is loosened and removed from the screw hole.

An electronic apparatus is disclosed. The electronic apparatus includes a hinge device rotatably coupling a main body chassis and a display chassis; and an antenna device for transmitting and receiving a radio wave. The hinge device includes a metal hinge shaft, a metal bearing part, a metal chassis mount member, and a hinge chassis that is made of a radio wave transmissive material. The antenna device includes a holder component housed in the hinge chassis, an antenna element supported by the holder component and a ground element supported by the holder component and electrically connected to the bearing part.

An electronic device includes a hinge device rotatably connecting a main body chassis and a display chassis, a notch-shaped part provided in a bottom surface of the main body chassis at a position overlapping with at least a part of the hinge device and formed by removing a part of the bottom surface from its one edge part toward the other edge part, a support base made of resin and provided so as to cover a part of the notch-shaped part, and a rubber foot provided on the support base and protruding from the bottom surface of the main body chassis through the notch-shaped part.

Electronic device

A docking station is provided. The docking station has an engagement member, a coupling detector, a connector, an advancing and retracting mechanism, and a controller. The engagement member can be inserted into an engagement hole of a portable information device. The coupling detector detects whether or not the engagement member has been engaged with the engagement hole. The connector can be connected to a connection terminal provided in a side surface of the portable information device. The advancing and retracting mechanism is operated by the driving force of a motor to advance and retract the connector to connect and separate the connector to/from the connection terminal. The controller operates the advancing and retracting mechanism when it is detected that the portable information device is coupled with the docking station to advance the connector to connect the connector to the connection terminal.

Docking station

A viewing angle changing film capable of changing the viewing angle of a display panel is provided. The viewing angle changing film includes a base film opposed to a display panel, and an attachment having a thickness smaller than a thickness of the base film. The base film can change the viewing angle of the display panel. The attachment is inserted into air gap defined between the display panel and a bezel. The attachment is a separate member from the base film, and is fixed to the base film.

A docking station is provided. The docking station has an engagement member, a coupling detector, a connector, an advancing and refracting mechanism, and a controller. The engagement member can be inserted into an engagement hole of a portable information device. The coupling detector detects whether or not the engagement member has been engaged with the engagement hole. The connector can be connected to a connection terminal provided in a side surface of thy portable information device. The advancing and retracting mechanism is operated by the driving force of a motor to advance and retract the connector to connect and separate the connector to/from the connection terminal. The controller operates the advancing and retracting mechanism when it is detected that the portable information device is coupled with the docking station to advance the connector to connect the connector to the connection terminal.

A support for an electronic device is able to prevent a chassis from wobbling without coming off from the chassis. The support is attached to an opening of the chassis of the electronic device. The support includes a base portion positioned on an exterior surface side of the chassis so as to overlap the opening, a retaining portion that is positioned on an inner surface side of the chassis and provided so that the opening is able to retain the retaining portion with or without interposing a separate member, a connecting portion that connects the base portion and the retaining portion with each other and is inserted through the opening, and an elastic protruding portion provided on the base portion and structures a contact point with the exterior surface of the chassis. The base portion is structured so as to support the chassis through the elastic protruding portion.

Support and electronic device

A connector is capable of preventing an adverse effect due to the extra length of a flat cable. The connector includes: a main body to which a terminal of the flat cable having notches formed on both sides can be connected; a slider having engaging portions engageable with the notches, respectively, and configured to reciprocate relative to the main body along an insertion direction of the flat cable; and an actuator which sandwiches and fixes the flat cable in cooperation with the main body.

A lateral mode controlling layer made of AlN having a thickness of more than 0 nm but less than 300 nm is formed in at least one cladding layer of an n-type cladding layer and a p-type cladding layer or formed between the at least one cladding layer and the active layer. Also, a mask layer is formed on a substrate, then an AlN layer is formed to cover it, and then the AlN layer is lifted off by using a solution for etching. the mask layer. Accordingly, lateral mode control of the group III-V compound semiconductor laser can be facilitated, the aspect ratio of the beam shape can be improved, and the damage caused by the Al layer growth and the patterning can be reduced.

Semiconductor light emitting device and method of manufacturing the same

There are provided a semiconductor laser, a semiconductor light emitting device, and methods of manufacturing the same wherein a threshold current density in a short wavelength semiconductor laser using a nitride compound semiconductor can be reduced. An active layer is composed of a single gain layer having a thickness of more than 3 nm, and optical guiding layers are provided between the active layer and cladding layers respectively.

Semiconductor laser, semiconductor light emitting device, and methods of manufacturing the same

Embedded layers having a high resistance or an inverse conductivity with respect to a ridge structure are formed on either side of a ridge structure which is formed to correspond to an light emission region of a laser diode. The embedded layers confines a current in the ridge structure and moderates light-confinement performance in the ridge structure at an emitting end of the laser diode.
