An in-vehicle battery attachment structure is to be disposed under a rear seat of the vehicle. The in-vehicle battery attachment structure includes at least one left battery module and at least one right battery module, a housing case, and a battery frame. The at least one left battery module and the at least one right battery module are to be disposed apart from each other in a left-right direction of the vehicle. The housing case houses the at least one left battery module and the at least one right battery module. The at least one left battery module, the at least one right battery module, and the housing case are attached to the battery frame in a suspended state. The battery frame is to be fixed to a vehicle body of the vehicle. The rear seat is attached to the battery frame.

In-vehicle battery attachment structure

A protection structure for an on-board battery. The on-board battery includes a battery stack and is configured to be mounted on a vehicle. The protection structure includes a first frame, a second frame, and a fixing member. The first frame is to be coupled to an upper portion of a battery case that contains the battery stack, so as to fix the battery case to a vehicle body of the vehicle. The second frame is to be disposed above the battery case and to be coupled to the first frame. The fixing member is to be fixed to the second frame so as to suspend and support the battery stack. Protection structure for on-board battery

A vehicle battery pack for an electric vehicle includes a battery, a battery-cooling-air channel, a fume exhaust channel, a fume-ventilation restricting unit, a temperature sensor, a blower fan, and a controller. Cooling air that cools the battery flows through the battery-cooling-air channel. Fumes generated from the battery flow through the fume exhaust channel. The fume exhaust channel is coupled to the battery-cooling-air channel. The fume-ventilation restricting unit closes off the fume exhaust channel from the battery-cooling-air channel in a normal state, whereas causing the battery-cooling-air channel and the fume exhaust channel to communicate with each other in an abnormal state. The temperature sensor detects a temperature of the fumes. The controller controls the blower fan, and increase the air volume of the blower fan on the basis of the temperature detected by the temperature sensor.

A voice coil actuator utilizes an eddy current magnet configured for positioning proximal to the outer perimeter side face of one or more recording disk, and which cooperates with the conductive side face to generate an eddy current force to rotate a latch lever to an unlatched position. Embodiments may include an end cam on a base on which the latch lever is rotatably disposed, and the latch lever includes a cam follower capable of rotatably engaging with the end cam, whereby the magnetic attraction between the eddy current magnet and the voice coil actuator yoke generates a latch bias force which causes the end cam and cam follower to engage or mesh in order to hold the latch lever in a latched position.

The disk-enclosure cover includes a substantially flat, plate-like portion that includes a periphery, and a peripheral flange that is disposed at the periphery. The peripheral flange includes a recessed portion that is configured to be recessed from a SATA connector in proximity to the SATA connector. In addition, the recessed portion is configured to allow a top portion of the SATA connector to be disposed in close proximity to the peripheral flange when the SATA connector is seated on a receiving connector of the low-profile HDD.

Embodiments in accordance with the present invention reduce the height of a head gimbal assembly (HGA) while maintaining the rigidity of a load beam. According to one embodiment of the present invention, an HGA includes a slider, a flexure, and a load beam. The load beam includes a flange formed to protrude to the opposite side to a magnetic disk at the edge of the load beam extending in the length-wise direction. The load beam has a recessed portion opened to the side opposing the magnetic disk and having an opening area larger than the area of the back surface of the slider opposing the flexure. The slider is provided in the recessed portion so that the position of the surface of the load beam is between a virtual surface including the surface of the slider opposing the magnetic disk and a virtual surface including the slider back surface.

A data storage device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a head, a ramp, a load beam, and an actuator. The ramp includes a portion onto which the head is retracted from a surface of a medium. The load beam includes a head support portion that supports the head and a tab disposed more on the side of a leading end than the head support portion. The tab has a leading end that slides over, while being in contact with, a sliding surface of the ramp. The actuator includes the load beam and loads and unloads the head.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a structure of a pivot receiving surface which may excellently adjust the attitude of a head supporting mechanism in a magnetic disk drive. In one embodiment, three projections are formed at a base for supporting a pivot assembly. The first projection is formed on a first line which bisects an angle defined between a second line and a third line determining a range, in which a head/slider flies above a magnetic disk. In contrast, the other two projections are formed at positions apart from the first projection at an angle of 120&#xb0;, respectively. The attitude of the pivot assembly is adjusted by adjusting the heights of the projections, and thus, a head supporting mechanism is corrected in a predetermined attitude within the range in which the head/slider flies above the magnetic disk.

Embodiments of the invention provide an FPC connecting structure superior in positioning in a magnetic disk drive. According to one embodiment, in an FPC-connector connecting structure in a magnetic disk drive, edge portions rise from the bottom of a base and there are formed inner surfaces of the edge portions. An FPC connected to a spindle motor and drawn out from an FPC draw-out port has an FPC terminal portion formed at an extreme end thereof. The FPC terminal portion comes into contact with the inner surfaces and is positioned thereby. A guide pin is also used for the positioning. Positioning of the FPC terminal portion may be done easily and positively by utilizing a corner of the base.

A rotating disk storage device has a stopper mechanism and a latch mechanism for diminishing a shock imposed on an actuator head suspension assembly (AHSA) and permits positive retraction of the AHSA upon occurrence of an external shock or runaway. In one embodiment, the latch mechanism comprises an AHSA which is supported pivotably, a stopper which restricts a pivotal movement in a pivot direction of the AHSA, an inertia member adapted to move pivotally in a corresponding pivot direction when the AHSA moves pivotally in the pivot direction while causing the stopper to be deformed elastically, and a latch member which has an engaging portion and which, upon receipt of the torque from the inertia member, moves pivotally in a direction opposite from the corresponding pivot direction, and causes the engaging portion to move to a latching position. An assembly structure low in height and suitable for downsizing and for high hermeticity sealing in a micro hard disk drive is provided. Burrings projecting toward a top cover and having an internal thread cut are formed on a base plate where the top cover is screw-fastened to the base plate, the base plate accommodating a functional unit such as a disk and a head. Burrings are formed extendedly upward on flat portions of recesses at certain corners of the top cover. These burrings have a diameter larger than that of the burrings of the base plate. The burrings of the base plate are fitted into the burrings to be screw-fastened with top cover fastening screws. After attaching the top cover to the base plate, a covering seal is applied to cover the respective top faces of the top cover, base plate, and the top cover screws.
