A container unit for greening of wall surface and greening method using container unit. The planting container unit has an outer container having an upper-surface and a front-surface opening, an inner container that can be inserted into the front-surface opening of the outer container, and a fixing plate where the inner container is fixed to the outer container. The inner container is capable of housing a planting base, incudes a front-surface opening where a plant body part of the pot plant can be exposed to an outside, and includes an upper-surface opening for housing the planting base and the pot plant. The inner container has, on a front surface having the front-surface opening, a front-surface flange that engages with a wall of the outer container around the front-surface opening. The planting container unit is configured such that the inner container is removably housed inside the outer container.

Planting container unit and greening method using same

A greening system is disclosed for enabling plants/vegetation to grow only with natural rainfall, enabling a garden to be constructed on building rooftops, minimizing the applicable loads on the building and risk of leakage. Planting containercomprises boxwith stickersto carry perforated partition panel. The lower half of the container is constituted as water storage, and drain holesare opened on sides of the container. Soil layerplaced on partition panelis formed of light woody soil-based on charcoaland humus timber chips for absorbing moisture transported from the waterstored in water storageby evaporation or difference in humidity, to increase water capacity and reduce amount of water evaporating into the air. Charcoalabsorbs water from the air inside the lower half of the container to water the plants.

Greening system

A greening system us disclosed for enabling plants/vegetation to grow only with natural rainfall, without any particular irrigation facilities, enabling a full-blown garden to be constructed on building rooftops, minimizing the applicable loads on the building, and free from the risk of leakage. Charcoalabsorbs water from the air inside the lower half of the container to water the plants. Water storageassures an amount of water necessary for plants to grow.

To remove the echo of a received signal from a local input signal, an echo canceler adaptively estimates the transfer characteristics of the echo path. When a double-talk condition is detected, the echo canceler reverses the adaptation process and returns to a set of estimated transfer characteristics that were in use before the double-talk condition began. Imperfect echo cancellation due to incorrect estimation caused by double-talk is thus prevented inexpensively.

A fiber optic gyro can overcome the defects encountered with conventional fiber optic gyros of phase-modulation method, closed-loop system with serrodyne modulation and digital modulation. A reference phase difference .DELTA..beta. and a ramp phase difference .sigma. are generated in an interference light intensity signal I by use of a triangular waveform, i.e., delta serrodyne waveform signal. The reference phase difference .DELTA..beta. is changed to constant values .DELTA..beta..sub.A and .DELTA..beta..sub.B whose absolute values are the same and whose signs are different at every times T.sub.A and T.sub.B. A phase x of the interference light intensity signal I becomes equal to x=.DELTA..theta.+.sigma.+.DELTA..beta.. The ramp phase difference .sigma. is controlled so as to satisfy .DELTA..theta.+.sigma.=0. Accordingly, at the stable point of the control loop, a Sagnac phase difference .DELTA..theta. is equal to the ramp phase difference .sigma.. Further, a phase x of the interference light intensity signal I does not contain the Sagnac phase difference .DELTA..theta., and hence x=.DELTA..beta.. Also, a fiber optic gyro can eliminate a bias, in particular, optically-generated bias. In a fiber optic gyro of phase-modulation method or delta serrodyne system, a phase controller is supplied with a phase control voltage signal V.sub.S of period T and a square wave signal V.sub.2 of period T for correcting an optical bias caused by an amplitude modulation generated by the phase control voltage signal V.sub.S in the added form. The square wave signal V.sub.2 has a constant magnitude H and is inverted in polarity at points in which the phase control voltage signal V.sub.S is maximized or minimized. The magnitude H and the polarity of the square wave signal V.sub.2 are selected such that an optical bias is minimized.

Closed loop type fiber optic gyroscope for measuring absolute rotation

An adaptive filter in the form of an FIR or IIR filter performs an adaptive filtering process relative to an input signal using a plurality of tap coefficients. The adaptive filter derives a vector formed by absolute values of the plurality of tap coefficients and weights step sizes of the plurality of tap coefficients using the first vector. The adaptive filter updates the plurality of tap coefficients based on the weighted step sizes. With this arrangement, the optimum tap coefficients can be achieved with high convergence speed. The adaptive filter is applicable to an echo canceller, such as, an acoustic echo canceller or a line echo canceller, so that echo canceling is effectively achieved by updating the tap coefficients with high accuracy and with high speed.

A gyro compass having a gyro case housing therein a gyro and supported with freedom of three axes, functions for outputting a signal corresponding to an inclined angle of the gyro spin axis relative to the horizontal plane, and a function for applying a torque around a vertical axis of the gyro case in proportion to an input signal. A controller is supplied with a signal corresponding to the inclined angle and a latitude value at which the gyro compass is located, and a constant relative to the input latitude value is determined by the controller after the gyro compass is energized. A signal, resulting from differentiating the signal corresponding to the inclined angle during a predetermined time, is added to the product of the signal corresponding to the inclined angle and the constant. This added signal functions as the input signal for the gyro, whereby a constant optimum north-seeking movement is carried out regardless of the change of the latitude value. An error corrector is provided having supplied to it the signal corresponding to the inclined angle, the speed signal of the vehicle and its heading azimuth signal, and a bias error caused by the inclined angle of the gyro compass spin axis and an azimuth error caused by the movement of the vehicle are estimated and calculated to thereby reduce an azimuth error caused by any bias error and the vehicles' movement.

Gyro compass

In a synchronization system for use in a digital transmission system in which an encoded digital transmission signal at least part of bits of which have specific statistic characteristics is transmitted, a digital transmission signal received by a decoder within a digital transmission apparatus at a receiving end is subjected to a decoding processing in units of samples on the basis of a synchronous input signal. The digital transmission apparatus at the receiving end includes a monitor for monitoring internal states of the decoder which vary between a synchronous state and an asynchronous state owing to the statistic characteristics of the digital transmission signal, a synchronization detector for determining whether the digital transmission system is in the synchronous state based on an output of the monitor, and a phase shifter for shifting a relative phase of the digital transmission signal against a synchronous input signal supplied to the decoder, one bit by one on the digital transmission signal in units of samples, in the case that a determination result of the synchronization detector indicates the asynchronous state.

A gyro compass having a gyro case housing therein a gyro and supported with freedom of three axes, functions for outputting a signal corresponding to an inclined angle of the gyro spin axis relative to the horizontal plane and a function for applying a torque around a vertical axis of the gyro case in proportion to an input signal, and a controller supplied with the signal corresponding to the inclined angle and a latitude value at which the gyro compass is located, wherein a constant relative to the input latitude value is set by the controller after the gyro compass is energized, a signal, which results from differentiating the signal corresponding to the inclined angle during a predetermined time, is added to a signal, which results from multiplying the signal corresponding to the inclined angle with the constant and an added result is set as the input signal, whereby a constant optimum north-seeking movement is carried out regardless of the change of the latitude value to thereby reduce a settle time. Also, the gyro compass having an error corrector supplied with the signal corresponding to the inclined angle, a speed signal of a navigation vehicle and its heading azimuth signal, wherein a bias error caused by the inclined angle of the gyro compass spin axis and an azimuth error caused by the movement of the navigation vehicle are estimated and calculated to thereby reduce an azimuth error caused by the bias error.

A force generating apparatus having spacings through which magnetic fluxes are traveled, a magnetic circuit including two permanent magnets supplying magnetic fluxes to the spacings and a conductor disposed in the direction perpendicular to the magnetic fluxes in the spacings is comprised of two pair of permanent magnets of the same size, and a member for disposing the two pair of permanent magnets such that magnetic axes thereof are opposed in parallel to each other, wherein a total sum of magnetic moments caused by the two pair of permanent magnets is cancelled out. Therefore, the force generating apparatus can be prevented from producing a harmful torque even if an external magnetic field acts thereon.

A gyro compass having a gyro case incorporating a gyro of which the spin axis is substantially horizontal, a vertical ring disposed around the outer periphery of the gyro case and for rotatably supporting the gyro case around a vertical axis, a follow-up pickup for detecting an angular displacement between the gyro case and the vertical ring around the vertical axis, an accelerometer having an input axis parallel to the spin axis, a vertical torquer mounted on the vertical ring for applying a torque of magnitude proportional to an input signal to the gyro case around the vertical axis, and a control apparatus for receiving an output signal of the accelerometer and for supplying its output to the vertical torquer, in which during a predetermined time after the gyro compass is started to operate, the output signal from the accelerometer is differentiated to produce a differentiation signal which is then supplied to the vertical torquer to reduce a settling time of the north-seeking action.

An erector for holding a spin axis of a gyro rotor in the vertical direction used in a gyroscopic horizon or gyro vertical which comprises a gyro casing incorporating therein a gyro rotor rotating at high speed, a spin axis of the gyro rotor being held substantially in the vertical direction, first supporting member for rotatably supporting the gryo casing around a first horizontal axis which is perpendicular to the spin axis and second supporting member for rotatably supporting the first supporting member around a second horizontal axis which is perpendicular to both the spin axis and the first horizontal axis is disclosed, which includes a base plate, a motor mounted on the base plate, a rotation receptacle container having an annular shape cavity and rotated at low speed by the motor, and liquid charged into the annular shape cavity of the rotation receptacle container, the base plate being mounted on the gyro casing such that the rotation axis of the rotation receptacle container and the spin axis of the gyro rotor become parallel to each other.

A gyro apparatus including a gyro case for housing a gyro therein, the spin axis of which is selected to be substantially horizontal, a container for accommodating therein the gyro case and containing a liquid within it, a first supporting device for supporting the gyro case within the container, a second supporting device for supporting the container in a manner that the container may have the freedom of three axes, and a vertical follow-up device for making the container to follow-up the gryo case around a gravity line, in which there is further provided a device in connection with the container for substantially changing the gap formed between the container containing the liquid and the gyro case from the outside of the container so as to adjust the displacement between the center of gravity of the gryo case and the center of viscous force caused by the liquid acting on the gyro case.
