A flowmeter is configured to measure a flow rate of a gas flowing through a main passage. The flowmeter includes a housing and a flow rate detector. The housing is made of a resin and includes a bypass passage branched off from the main passage. The flow rate detector is disposed in the bypass passage and transmits detection signals in accordance with the flow rate of the gas flowing through the main passage. The housing includes a non-insulation portion including graphite.

Flowmeter, and physical quantity measuring device

An intake device includes an air filter that filters intake air for an internal combustion engine, a filter casing housing the air filter, and an air physical quantity sensor. The filter casing includes an intake passage to allow the intake air to pass from upstream to downstream of the air filter. The filter casing has a passage wall portion that is electrically conductive and exposed to the intake passage on a downstream side of the air filter. The air physical quantity sensor has: a sensor element that detects a specific physical quantity related to the intake air on a downstream side of the air filter; and a grounding structure electrically connected to the passage wall portion for grounding the sensor element.

A volume resistivity of the flow channel forming portion is included in the range of 1.0&#xd7;10(1.0&#xd7;10 to the 11th power) &#x3a9;cm to 1.0&#xd7;10(1.0&#xd7;10 to the 14th power) &#x3a9;cm.

Physical quantity measurement device

A physical quantity measurement device for measuring a physical quantity of a fluid includes a housing that includes a bypass flow channel through which a fluid flows and a physical quantity detection unit that detects a physical quantity of the fluid in the bypass flow channel. The housing includes a housing main body made of a dielectric and a covering film that covers at least a part of a surface of the housing main body, and the surface of the housing is positive charged due to positive charges being arranged in the housing main body along the surface of the housing main body or the positive charges being arranged in the covering film along a surface of the covering film.

Physical quantity measurement device and method of manufacturing physical quantity measurement device

A housing defines a bypass passage and a sub-bypass passage therein. A bypass passage is configured to draw a part of an air flowing through a duct. The sub-bypass passage branches off the bypass passage and is configured to draw a part of air flowing through the bypass passage. A flow rate sensor is arranged in the sub-bypass passage and configured to generate an electric signal according to a flow rate of air in the duct by performing heat transfer with air passing through the sub-bypass passage. A physical quantity sensor is configured to measure a physical quantity of air in the duct. A sensor assembly is integrally formed with the flow rate sensor, the physical quantity sensor, and a circuit module. The circuit module includes a substrate that is configured to process signals from the flow rate sensor and the physical quantity sensor.

Airflow measuring device

A housing defines a bypass passage and a sub-bypass passage. The bypass passage draws a part of air flowing through an interior of a duct. The sub-bypass passage is branched from the bypass passage to draw a part of air flowing through the bypass passage. A flow sensor is equipped in the sub-bypass passage to cause heat transfer with air, which passes through the sub-bypass passage, and to generate an electric signal according to a flow quantity of air in the duct. An intake-air temperature sensor is configured to measure a temperature in the duct. A moisture sensor is configured to measure a humidity in the duct. The flow sensor and the multiple sensors are equipped in the sub-bypass passage and are located along a direction of flow of air in the sub-bypass passage.

An intake pipe structure for an internal combustion engine is provided. The intake pipe structure includes an air flow meter arranged in an intake pipe and a pair of flow regulating plates. The air flow meter has an entrance and exits. The flow regulating plates are located at positions separated from the air flow meter and extend in a direction of flow of intake air to cover the exits of the air flow meter from opposite sides.

Intake pipe structure for internal combustion engine

An air flow measuring device takes in part of intake air flowing through an intake passage. The device includes a housing and a sensor. The housing defines a bypass flow passage through which taken-in intake air passes and which has an outlet that opens on an outer wall of the housing. The sensor is accommodated in the bypass passage to produce an electrical signal as a result of heat transfer between taken-in intake air and the sensor. The outlet of the bypass passage includes vertical and non-vertical openings. The vertical opening opens toward a downstream side of a flow of intake air in the intake passage and is provided perpendicular to the flow of intake air. The non-vertical opening is provided non-perpendicularly to the flow of intake air in the intake passage. The outlet is a continuous stretch of opening where the vertical and non-vertical openings are continuously formed.

Air flow measuring device having a sensor accommodated in a bypass flow passage

A housing of an air cleaner has an air inlet port and an air outlet port, and incorporates an air filter. In the housing, a fuel adsorption filter is arranged downstream of the air filter in such manner as to intersect an air passage. An open portion and a sheet-like adsorption portion are vertically defined in an outer frame of the fuel adsorption filter. The adsorption portion has a fuel adsorbing function. A weir is provided in a boundary between the open portion and the adsorption portion. The weir limits air flow from the upstream side of the adsorption portion to the upstream side of the open portion. A flow straightening plate having a flow straightening function is provided in the open portion.

Fuel adsorption filter and air cleaner

An air flow measuring device includes a flow amount sensor for measuring a flow amount of air in a duct, and a tube body for defining a bypass passage in the duct. An upstream end surface of the tube body has an inlet of the bypass passage, and a downstream end surface thereof has an outlet of the bypass passage. An outer diameter of an outer peripheral surface of the tube body has a smallest dimension at the upstream end surface, and a largest dimension at the downstream end surface. Furthermore, the outer peripheral surface of the tube body has an upstream portion extending downstream from the upstream end surface in a predetermined range, and the upstream portion of the outer peripheral surface is a convex curve surface in which the outer diameter is increased by a ratio from the upstream end surface toward downstream.

Air flow measuring device

A U-shaped bypass passage is provided in an intake pipe. A part of air flowing in the intake pipe is introduced into the bypass passage. The bypass passage is arranged substantially perpendicularly to a primary air flow direction in the intake pipe. A flow meter element is disposed in the bypass passage for measuring air flow amount. Turbulence reduction plates are integrally formed with the bypass passage at an upper side and a lower side of an air inlet thereof. The turbulence reduction plates are arranged substantially in parallel with the primary air flow direction in the intake pipe, and substantially perpendicularly to an air flow direction in the bypass passage. Even when a secondary air flow arises around the air inlet of the bypass passage, the turbulence reduction plates shut the secondary air flow, thereby reducing an influence of the secondary air flow.
