A connector includes a connector housing that includes a plurality of terminal accommodation chambers, a terminal that is accommodated in the terminal accommodation chamber, a retainer portion that holds the accommodated terminal in the terminal accommodation chamber, a short circuit terminal that makes at least two of the accommodated terminals be in a short-circuited state by coming into contact with the two accommodated terminals, and a sub-housing on which the short circuit terminal is mounted. The connector housing includes a fitting portion to which the sub-housing is fitted in a direction orthogonal to a fitting direction of the connector housing to a counterpart connector housing, and the retainer portion is formed at a position of holding the terminal and the short circuit terminal is mounted at a position at which the short circuit terminal comes into contact with the terminals.

A water-stop structure () for a connector has: a terminal () including a mating terminal connecting portion (), a wire barrel portion (), and an insulation barrel portion (); an electric wire () installed on the terminal () in such a manner that a sheath () is removed to expose a core wire () at one end portion, the exposed core wire () is held by the wire barrel portion (), and a portion of the sheath () near the exposed core wire () is held by the insulation barrel portion (); and a sealing body () integrally provided on the electric wire () and the terminal () so as to cover at least the insulation barrel portion ().

Water-stop structure for connector

A connector includes at least two terminal fittings, a connector housing including terminal accommodating chambers which respectively accommodate the at least two terminal fittings, and a shorting terminal electrically connecting the at least two terminal fittings to each other. An electrical connection of the at least two terminal fittings is released by a mating connector which is fitted on the connector. Abutment portions provided at front ends of shorting contact pieces of the shorting terminal project from a front surface of the connector housing. A front surface of the mating connector facing a front surface of the connector housing presses against the abutment portions and deflects the shorting contact pieces in a rear direction of the connector so as to release shorting of the at least two terminal fittings.

A connecting terminal has a tubular part into which a mating terminal is to be inserted and a spring contact part extended from the tubular part and arranged in the tubular part, wherein insertion of the mating terminal into the tubular part is allowed by elastic deformation of the spring contact part and the mating terminal inserted into the tubular part is to be electrically connected with the connecting terminal using an elastic restoring force of the spring contact part as a contact load, and the connecting terminal has auxiliary spring parts extended from the tubular part and elastically deformed following elastic deformation of the spring contact part.

Connecting terminal

A connector device includes a plurality of board mounted connectors and mating side connectors to be fitted with each other and a guiding hood. Levers are rotatably attached to the mating side connectors. A guiding hood includes a plurality of connector fitting parts which guide an insertion of the mating side connectors corresponding to the board mounted connectors, and is attached to the opening part of the housing case. The board mounted connectors and the mating side connectors are configured to be fitted with each other by rotating the levers which are engaged to the connector fitting parts. The guiding hood includes locking means configured to be locked and engaged to the board mounted connectors respectively by being elastically engaged with engaging parts of the board mounted connectors respectively in a direction in which the board mounted connectors are arranged.

Connector device

There is provided a board connector that prevents loads due to thermal changes in a connector housing from being directly imposed on soldered areas of anchor hardware and that enhances anchoring reliability of the anchor hardware. A board connector includes a connector housing to be populated on a circuit board, anchor hardware for soldering the connector housing to the circuit board, holding grooves that are formed on the connector housing and capable of press-fitting and holding upper lugs of the anchor hardware, and tapered portions that are formed in the respective holding grooves and that guide the upper lugs of each of the pieces of press-fitted anchor hardware in a direction away from each side surface of the connector housing, thereby creating clearance S between the anchor hardware and respective opposing side surfaces of the connector housing.

A connector apparatus includes a board mounting connector mounted on a board housed in a housing case, a mating connector fit to the board mounting connector, and a guide hood that has a connector fitting part to guide insertion of the mating connector and is fit into an opening section of the housing case. The board mounting connector has a recessed fitting part, into which a housing front-end side fitting part of the mating connector is inserted. A connector fitting part of the guide hood has a second opening whose width is wider than a width of a first opening of the recessed fitting part and is substantially equal to a width of a housing rear-end side fitting part of the mating connector. A retainer is held in a housing rear-end side fitting part of the mating connector.

Connector apparatus

Deflection spaces for allowing the deflection of male terminals are formed respectively in those portions of a connector housing of a male connector disposed near respectively to proximal end portions of the male terminals. A thinned portion is formed at that portion of each male terminal (of the male connector) disposed in the deflection space, and this thinned portion is smaller in thickness than its connection portion for connection to a female terminal. During the fitting of the connectors, the thinned portions of the male terminals are deflected within the deflection spaces, and therefore strains of various portions of the connectors, developing during the fitting of the connectors due to a positional error and a mounting error of upper and lower printed circuit boards, can be absorbed.

Direct-mounting connector-fitting structure

A USB connector includes a receptacle which includes a receptacle shell and a receptacle terminal; a plug which includes a plug shell for fitting into the receptacle shell and a plug terminal; and an engagement release member which is provided on the plug shell so as to be movable between an engagement releasing position and an engagement position. When the plug is fitted into the receptacle, the plug terminal is electrically connected to the receptacle terminal. The plug shell has a retaining portion. The receptacle shell has an engagement portion which is engaged with the retaining portion when the plug is fitted into the receptacle. The engagement release member maintains an engagement of the retaining portion with the engagement portion at the engagement position. The engagement release member releases the engagement of the retaining portion with the engagement portion at the engagement releasing position.

A USB connector includes a jack and a plug. The jack includes a shield shell, having jack terminals therein. The plug includes a shield case, having plug terminals to be electrically connected to the jack terminals, and fitted into the shield shell. The shield shell has a mating portion The shield case has a latching portion which engages with the mating portion when the plug is inserted into the jack.
