A plate inserting apparatus includes a plate cylinder, press roller, and braking unit. A plate is to be mounted on the outer surface of the plate cylinder. The press roller is rotatably supported to oppose the outer surface of the plate cylinder, and inserts the leading edge bent portion of the plate, supplied to the plate cylinder upon rotation of the plate cylinder, into a groove portion formed in the outer surface of the plate cylinder. The braking unit is arranged in a plate storing portion for storing the plate supplied to the plate cylinder, and brakes the plate with the leading edge bent portion inserted in the groove portion of the plate cylinder.

Plate inserting apparatus

A plate inserting apparatus includes a plate cylinder, press roller, and braking unit. A plate is to be mounted on the outer surface of the plate cylinder. The press roller is rotatably supported to oppose the outer surface of the plate cylinder. When the leading edge bent portion of the plate to be supplied to the plate cylinder abuts against the press roller and the distal end of the leading edge bent portion abuts against the outer surface of the plate cylinder, the press roller inserts the leading edge bent portion of the plate into a groove portion formed in the plate cylinder upon rotation (with a pressing force) of the plate cylinder. The braking unit keeps braking the plate at least since the leading edge bent portion of the plate abuts against the outer surface of the press roller and until the leading edge bent portion is completely inserted in the groove portion of the plate cylinder.

Plate inserting apparatus including braking unit for braking the plate

A plate inserting device includes a plate cylinder, roller, and rotation braking unit. The plate cylinder has a groove portion in its outer surface to extend in an axial direction. A plate is to be mounted on the outer surface of a plate cylinder. The roller is rotatably supported to be able to come close to and separate from the outer surface of the plate cylinder. The roller comes into contact with the outer surface of the plate cylinder, when a distal end bent portion of a new plate is to be inserted in the groove portion of the plate cylinder, to press the distal end bent portion of the new plate. The rotation braking unit brakes rotation of the roller in relation to insertion operation of the distal end bent portion of the new plate into the groove portion of the plate cylinder.

Plate inserting device

A plate inserting apparatus includes a loader, a first regulating member, a second regulating member, and support plates, oscillating rollers, air cylinders, a shaft, and bars. The loader holds a new plate inserted in a lateral direction and feeds the new plate to a plate cylinder. The first regulating member regulates a position of one side edge of the new plate inserted in the loader. The second regulating member regulates a position of the other side edge of the new plate inserted in the loader, thus positioning the new plate in a widthwise direction in cooperation with the first regulating member. The support plates, oscillating rollers, air cylinders, shaft, and bars move the new plate inserted in the loader in a direction substantially perpendicular to a plate surface, thus accommodating the new plate between the first and second regulating members.

In a rotary press, a first press roller adapted to retreat during printing and advance during plate changing to contact a web is provided on a travel route of the web between a printing unit and a dryer. A second press roller having the same function as the first press roller is provided on the travel route of the web between air infeed unit and the printing unit. A web presser for pinching the web is provided on the travel route of the web between the infeed unit and the second press roller. With the web being pinched by the web presser, the first press roller and the second press roller can be moved by the web in a retreating direction. After plate changing is completed, the press rollers can smoothly ascend regardless of their pressure, and can promptly and smoothly return to the state before plate changing.

Rotary press

A printing plate changing device reliably discharges a printing plate from a plate cylinder comprising a lower second printing plate guiding device, and printing plate discharging means having a pick-up member, a supporting member, a bracket, and an actuator. The printing plate changing device further includes a receiving board restricted to move the discharged printing plate toward the downstream side with respect to the discharged storing direction and moved in accordance with the movement of the discharged printing plate with the pick-up member, and releasing means including a lower first printing plate guiding device, a guide plate, and an actuator for releasing a gripped side of the discharged printing plate discharged from the lower plate cylinder from the front end of the guide plate of the lower second printing plate guiding device.

Device for changing a printing plate

A printing press comprises a pair of left- and right-frames, a safety cover movably supported between a closing position for closing at least one part of a space formed between the frames and a releasing position for releasing the space and a printing plate holding device movably supported at an exterior side with respect to the safety cover between a shelter position for holding a new printing plate supplied to a lower plate cylinder and a discharged printing plate discharged from the lower plate cylinder and an operation position for storing the new printing plate supplied to the lower plate cylinder or the discharged printing plate discharged from the lower plate cylinder. While the safety cover at the closing portion, the printing plate holding device can be moved between the shelter position and the operation position in order to set a new printing plate and remove a discharged printing plate easily while a peripheral are of a lower side of a printing unit can be protected in the case of exchanging the printing plate.

Printing press

A printing plate changing device prevents a new printing plate from being damaged even if an abnormal attachment has occurred during/before attaching the printing plate on a plate cylinder. Various sensors detect a rear end of the new printing plate located near an extrusion member when a phase of the lower plate cylinder forwardly rotating is positioned at a predetermined position, an actuator of the lower printing plate holding device is extended by a control device in accordance with a signal from the sensors to release a hook from an engaged pin. A claw portion is rotated by force energized by a spring to advance into a stored portion. The claw portion of the hook is engaged with the rear end of the new printing plate so that the new printing plate can be returned into the stored portion by extending the actuator.

Device for separating a new printing plate from a plate cylinder

A device for holding a printing plate with a simple structure in order to pick-up a discharged printing plate and set a new printing plate in an easy manner. In a device for holding a printing plate that includes guide frames and a guide member with a storing space for storing a discharged printing plate discharged from a plate cylinder. The device is an actuator for moving the discharged printing plate discharged from the plate cylinder between an operation position for storing in the storing space and a shelter position for releasing the discharged printing plate from the plate cylinder. The device includes a hook member for engaging with an end portion of the discharged printing plate in the storing space in the case the members are moved to the operation position by the actuator and releasing the discharged printing plate from the storing space in the case that the member are moved to the shelter position by the actuator.

Device for holding a printing plate

A printing press comprises a pair of left- and right-frames, a first printing plate guiding device provided at a location near a lower plate cylinder, swingably supported so as to be moved between a guiding position for guiding a new printing plate supplied to a lower plate cylinder or a discharged printing plate discharged from the lower plate cylinder and a shelter position released from the lower plate cylinder, a second printing plate guiding device provided at a location near the lower plate cylinder, swingably supported so as to be moved between a guiding position for guiding the new printing plate or the discharged printing plate and a shelter position released from the lower plate cylinder and a safety cover swingably supported so as to be moved between a closing position for closing at least one part of a space formed between the left- and right-frames and a releasing position for releasing the space. The first printing plate guiding device, the second printing plate guiding device and the safety cover are coaxially supported on a supporting axis. Thus, an operation space can be provided at a location near a plate cylinder even if a sufficient space is not provided above a printing unit.
