The fixing structure has a first support wall, a second support wall and a biasing member. The first support wall has a support projection with a tip part protruding along a thickness direction toward a rear surface and abutting on the rear surface, and an inclined surface extending from a tip part to a side opposite to the second support wall. A first angle between a first straight line extending in the perpendicular direction orthogonal to a bottom surface of the housing and a surface of the optical element is smaller than a second angle between the first straight line and the inclined surface. The second angle is less than 90 degrees.

An optical scanning device includes a housing that houses an optical system for generating a light ray for optical scanning, and has a dustproof glass for emitting the light ray to an outside, and a cleaning system that is assembled to the housing and cleans the dustproof glass. The cleaning system includes a cleaning member, and a holder that holds the cleaning member, and with the holder moved in a specified movement direction relative to the dustproof glass, the cleaning member cleans the dustproof glass. The cleaning member includes a cleaner member that is adapted to contact a surface of the dustproof glass, and a pressing member that has a pressing surface for pressing the cleaner member toward the dustproof glass and is formed of an elastic body. In the movement direction, a width of the cleaner member is wider than a width of the pressing surface.

Each of first and second glasses to be cleaned has a first edge and a second edge. A cleaning system has a cleaning member having a contact surface adapted to contact a surface of the glass, and first and second holders that hold the cleaning member. Reduced iron manufacturing method

A process for manufacturing reduced iron agglomerates which comprises introducing starting agglomerates that comprise both an iron oxide-containing material and a carbonaceous reducing agent onto the hearth of a moving-bed heating furnace, and heating the agglomerates to reduce the iron oxide contained in the agglomerates, wherein the iron oxide-containing material contained in the starting agglomerates has a mean particle diameter of 4 to 23 &#x3bc;m and contains at least 18% of particles having diameters of 10 &#x3bc;m or less. By the use of such starting agglomerates, the process attains: an improvement in the yield of reduced iron agglomerates having large particle diameters; a reduction in the manufacturing time, said reduction leading to an enhancement in the productivity; and a remarkable reduction in the content of impurities such as sulfur in the reduced-iron agglomerates.

Process for manufacturing reduced iron agglomerates

Provided is a technique for increasing the yield of reduced iron, thereby improving productivity when manufacturing reduced iron by heating an agglomerate. This method for manufacturing reduced iron includes: a step in which a mixture is agglomerated, said mixture containing an iron oxide-containing substance, a carbonaceous reducing agent, and a melting point regulator; and a step in which reduced iron is manufactured by heating the obtained agglomerate, reducing and partially melting the iron oxide in the agglomerate, and aggregating the iron component. The particle size of the fine particulate iron generated in the step in which the reduced iron is manufactured is adjusted, and the fine particulate iron is blended into the mixture.

An optical scanning device includes a scanning member, a plurality of light sources, a first reflection mirror, and a second reflection mirror. The scanning member scans incident laser beams in a predetermined main scanning direction. The plurality of light sources emit the laser beams from positions that are different along a sub scanning direction that is perpendicular to an optical axis direction of the laser beams and the main scanning direction. The first reflection mirror is inclined around the main scanning direction as a rotation axis, is inclined around the sub scanning direction as another rotation axis, and reflects the laser beams emitted from the light sources. The second reflection mirror is inclined around the main scanning direction as a rotation axis, is inclined around the sub scanning direction as another rotation axis, and reflects the laser beams reflected by the first reflection mirror toward the scanning member.
