A regulator valve for a hydraulic anti-skid apparatus and which includes a housing provided with a first inlet port for connection to a fluid pump and the anti-skid apparatus, a second inlet port for connection to a master cylinder, and an outlet port for connection to a fluid reservoir, a regulator piston reciprocably disposed within the housing to form a first fluid chamber in open communication with the first inlet and outlet ports and a second fluid chamber in open communication with the second inlet port, and a spring loaded annular valve seat member arranged within the first fluid chamber to cooperate with a valve part of the piston so as to control the fluid flow from the first inlet port to the outlet port in response to the difference in pressure between the fluid chambers. A support member is arranged within the first fluid chamber formed therein with an axial bore in which a large diameter portion of the piston is slidably disposed to form a third annular fluid chamber. The support member is further formed with an orifice for effecting the fluid flow between the first and third fluid chambers in response to axial movement of the piston.

Regulator valve for hydraulic anti-skid apparatus

In a diaphragm fluid pump which includes a diaphragm piston assembly assembled within a pump housing to form a pump chamber at one side thereof, the diaphragm piston assembly includes a diaphragm member secured in a fluid-tight manner at its outer periphery to the peripheral wall of the pump housing, and an operation rod connected at one end to the diaphragm member and at another end to a swingable end of a rocker arm to reciprocate the diaphragm piston assembly in an axial direction so as to produce a positive or negative pressure in the pump chamber. A pair of axially spaced upper and lower guide assemblies are mounted within the pump housing to slidably support the operation rod in its axial direction, and a support member is mounted on a lower end portion of the operation rod and slidably supported by the lower guide assembly, the support member being provided at its upper end with a receiver portion for receiving thereon the swingable end of the rocker arm.

A regulator valve for a hydraulic anti-skid apparatus, in which a first valve member in the form of a piston is reciprocable within a housing for the regulator valve and subdivides the interior of the housing into first and second chambers arranged to be respectively applied with a hydraulic power pressure from a fluid pump and a master cylinder pressure from a master cylinder, the first valve member being formed at its one end with a valve part exposed within the first chamber, and in which a second annular valve member is arranged in the first chamber coaxially with the first valve member and is formed at its one end with a first small diameter valve part cooperating with the valve part of the first valve member to form a first annular throttle for throttling the fluid flow from the pump to a fluid reservoir through the first chamber and at its other end with a second large diameter valve part cooperating with the inner end wall of the first chamber to form a second annular throttle for throttling the fluid flow after the first annular throttle is closed, the second valve member being resiliently loaded by a spring toward the inner end wall of the first chamber.

In a pin-slide type disc brake, the caliper of the disc brake is prevented from dropping or turning on a slide pin due to its own weight during replacement of the friction pads of the disc brake by providing a fitting hole in a part of a support straddling the disc in the radial direction of the disc and in the vicinity of a caliper guide mechanism located on the upper side of the support. A rigid rod is fitted into the hole and arranged to have, for example, the inner wall of the disc straddling portion of the caliper come to engage it to thus prevent the caliper from dropping when it is turned about the slide pin.
