A metal ink containing metal particles including silver, a protective agent A including an amine compound, and a protective agent B including a fatty acid. The metal ink is configured such that the protective agent A includes at least one Camine compound, and the protective agent B includes at least one Cfatty acid. It is preferable that the amine compound content is 0.2 mmol/g or more and 1.5 mmol/g or less on a silver particle mass basis. In addition, it is preferable that the fatty acid content is 0.01 mmol/g or more and 0.06 mmol/g or less on a silver particle mass basis.

A magnetic code reading device and magnetic code reading method in an ATM or the like which after detecting a readout magnetic waveform including jitter, performs necessary transaction processing without performing uniform error processing in a predetermined case. A magnetic read/write head is supported on the carriage that carries the platen of a passbook printer. The passbook is moved to the printing station and a sensor is provided for detecting the presence of the passbook. A height adjusting member operates to move the read/write head into position for writing data into and for reading data from a magnetic stripe on the passbook.
