A printing device comprises a housing, a print head provided in the housing, a mount to which a roll body is detachably mounted, a conveyor configured to convey a printing medium unwounded from the roll body along a conveying path including an upstream path extending from the mount to the print head, and a cutter configured to cut the printing medium at a particular position in the upstream path. The roll body is a sheet type printing medium wounded into a rolled-up state. The conveyor comprises a holder arranged, in the upstream path, at a position between the cutter and the print head. The holder is configured to hold the printing medium in a state where the printing medium is deformed to be corrugated along a direction perpendicular to the conveying direction.

A printing apparatus, having a platen to support a printing medium unrolled from a roll, a conveyer to convey the printing medium on the platen in a first direction, a head to print an image on the printing medium supported by the platen at a position on one side of the platen in a second direction intersecting with the first direction, a corrugating member to corrugate the printing medium, and a cutter to cut the printing medium, is provided. The corrugating member has a plurality of ribs and presser portions. The plurality of ribs align spaced from one another in a third direction, which intersects with the first direction and the second direction. The plurality of ribs protrude from the platen in the second direction. The presser portions press the printing medium toward the platen at intervening positions between adjoining ones of the plurality of ribs.

In a control device, a controller is configured to perform: determining whether to print a target unit image according to J number of index values respectively corresponding to J number of target partial images; in response to determining to print the target unit image, controlling a printer to execute ejection processing and movement processing for printing a band image constituted with H number of successive unit images arranged in a sub-scanning direction and including the target unit image, the ejection processing ejecting a droplet of coloring material onto a printing medium while moving a print head in a main scanning direction, the movement processing moving the printing medium in the sub-scanning direction with respect to the print head; and in response to determining not to print the target unit image, controlling the printer to execute the movement processing but not execute the ejection processing for printing the target unit image.

Control device for controlling printer having print head

An image-reading device may include a reading unit and a control device. The control device may be configured to detect a candidate point for an edge of the document on each of a pair of parallel detection lines, obtain a tilt angle of a straight line extending between the detected candidate points in the read data and classify the obtained tilt angle into a plurality of range groups. Further, control device may be configured to count the number of obtained tilt angles in each of the plurality of range groups. Also, each of the range groups may be associated with a predetermined angle and when the count of one of the range groups meets predetermined criteria, the control device may assign the predetermined angle of the range group whose count meets the predetermined criteria to be a tilt angle of the document.
