A refrigerant compressor includes: an electric component; and a compression component driven by the electric component to compress a refrigerant. At least one sliding member constituting the compression component is made of a base material () that is an iron-based material. An abrasion resistance film () including a surface layer constituted by at least fine crystals is formed on a sliding surface of the sliding member. The surface layer () includes an A portion in which a component contained most is diiron trioxide (FeO). The A portion exists within a range of at least 0.3 &#x3bc;m or less from an outermost surface of the sliding surface. The abrasion resistance film () may include at least one intermediate layer (to) located between the surface layer () and the base material (). With this, self-abrasion resistance of the sliding member can be improved, so that the refrigerant compressor having excellent reliability and efficiency can be obtained.

A rotary compressor having two cylinders includes crankshaft having first eccentric portion and second eccentric portion connected to each other by connecting portion. The rotary compressor further includes two compressive elements that compress working fluid in cylinder as first piston inserted over first eccentric portion eccentrically rotates in accordance with rotation of crankshaft. Further, first piston inserted over first eccentric portion undergoes assembly by being inserted over first eccentric portion through second eccentric portion. Further, a releasing portion is provided at each of outer diameter portions of first eccentric portion and second eccentric portion.

Rotary compressor having two cylinders

A compression element includes a substantially spiral oil groove which is provided in inner peripheral surfaces of bearings and of the shaft. One end of the oil groove opens at a bearing base portion, and the other end of the oil groove opens at a bearing end. According to this configuration, oil in a gap between the shaft and inner peripheries of the bearings and forcibly discharges, into the hermetic container, gas bubbles generated in a sliding gap between the shaft and the bearings and by action of a viscosity pump generated by the substantially spiral oil groove, and it is possible to provide a rotary compressor capable of preventing seizing and wearing caused by gas-involvement at a bearing sliding portion, and capable of securing reliability when refrigerant including R32 is used.

A scroll compressor employs therein a refrigerant having a small global warming potential and a small ozone depletion potential and mainly comprising hydrofluoroolefin having a carbon-carbon double bond. A stationary scroll has and end plate and a discharge port defined in the end plate at a central portion thereof so as to open into a discharge chamber. The stationary scroll also has a bypass hole defined in the end plate to allow a plurality of compression chambers to communicate with the discharge chamber before the compression chambers communicate with the discharge port. A check valve is provided on the bypass hole to allow the refrigerant to flow from the compression chambers to the discharge chamber. This construction can restrain a baneful influence on the global environment, reduce a temperature increase caused by excessive compression, and restrain decomposition of the refrigerant even in long-term use.

A fluid machine () includes a first compressor () and a second compressor (). The first compressor () has a first closed casing (), a first compression mechanism (), an expansion mechanism (), and a shaft (). A first oil reservoir () is formed in the first closed casing (). The second compressor () has a second closed casing () and a second compression mechanism (). A second oil reservoir () is formed at a bottom portion in the second closed casing (). The first closed casing () and the second closed casing () are connected to each other by an oil passage () so that a lubricating oil can flow between the first oil reservoir () and the second oil reservoir (). An opening () of the oil passage () on a side of the first closed casing () is located above the expansion mechanism () with respect to the vertical direction. This configuration prevents the low temperature lubricating oil in a surrounding space of the expansion mechanism () and the high temperature lubricating oil in the second compressor () from flowing. Thereby, the heat transfer between the first compressor () and the second compressor () is suppressed.

Fluid machine and refrigeration cycle apparatus

An expander-compressor unit () includes a closed casing (), a compression mechanism () disposed at an upper position in the closed casing (), an expansion mechanism () disposed at a lower position in the closed casing (), a shaft () coupling the compression mechanism () to the expansion mechanism (), and an oil pump () disposed between the compression mechanism () and the expansion mechanism (). The oil pump () supplies the oil held in an oil reservoir () to the compression mechanism () via a suction passage. A strainer () is provided to the suction passage so that the oil to be drawn into the oil pump () passes through the strainer.

Expander-compressor unit

A fluid machine () includes a closed casing () in which an oil reservoir () for holding oil is formed in a bottom part. Disposed in the closed casing () are: a main compression mechanism (), for compressing a working fluid, to which the oil held the oil reservoir () is supplied; a rotary electric motor () disposed above the oil reservoir () in the closed casing (); a main compressor shaft () for coupling the main compression mechanism () and the rotary electric motor () to each other; a power recovery mechanism () for recovering motive power from the working fluid by performing a suction process for drawing the working fluid and a discharge process for discharging the drawn working fluid; a sub compression mechanism (), which is driven by the power recovery mechanism (), for compressing the working fluid and discharging the working fluid to the main compression mechanism () side; and a power recovery shaft () for coupling the power recovery mechanism () and the sub compression mechanism () to each other.

Refrigeration cycle apparatus and fluid machine used therefor

An expander-compressor unit () includes a closed casing (), a compression mechanism (), an expansion mechanism (), a shaft (), and an oil pump (). The shaft () includes an upper shaft () provided with an upper eccentric portion () for the compression mechanism (), and a lower shaft () provided with lower eccentric portions (and) for the expansion mechanism () and an intermediate eccentric portion () for the oil pump (). The expansion mechanism () has an upper bearing member () for supporting a supported portion () of the lower shaft () located immediately above the lower eccentric portion (). The intermediate eccentric portion () has a diameter equal to or less than that of the supported portion ().

An expander-compressor unit (A) includes a closed casing (), a compression mechanism (), an expansion mechanism (), a shaft (), and an oil pump (). The shaft () couples the compression mechanism () to the expansion mechanism () so that power recovered by the expansion mechanism () is transferred to the compression mechanism (). The oil pump () is disposed between the compression mechanism () and the expansion mechanism (), and supplies an oil held in an oil reservoir () to the compression mechanism (). An oil supply passage () is formed in the shaft () so that the oil discharged from the oil pump () can be supplied to the compression mechanism (). A lower end () of the oil supply passage () is located below an inlet () of the oil supply passage () formed in an outer circumferential surface of the shaft ().
