A measuring instrument includes a spindle ( ) provided to a body ( ), a sleeve ( ) movable in the same direction as the spindle and stoppable at a desired position, a connector ( ) for connecting the sleeve and the spindle and allowing relative movement of the sleeve and the spindle in the moving direction thereof by a predetermined stroke; a pressure spring ( ) accommodated in the sleeve for biasing the spindle in a direction for the spindle to abut to the workpiece through the connector, and a biasing force indicator ( ) for indicating the pressure spring.

Measuring instruments

A constant pressure mechanism of a probe for urging the probe in a predetermined direction by virtue of elastic force of a spring is provided. The mechanism comprises a circular pulley rotatably supported around a central axis by an instrument stationary portion, a rotation force urging mechanism for urging the pulley in the predetermined direction, and a first wire adjoining the pulley to the probe. The rotation force urging mechanism comprises a spiral pulley coaxial with and capable of combined rotation with the circular pulley, and a second wire connecting the spiral pulley to the spring. The other end of the spring is connected to the instrument stationary portion. Strict contact pressure of the probe is maintained throughout its motion.

Constant pressure mechanism of probe

A constant-pressure mechanism includes: a pressure transmission member being linearly movable in a predetermined direction and being urged by an urging member; a rotary member being rotatable around a central shaft located in a case receiving the pressure transmission member; a follower member supported to the case so as to be movable linearly; and a displacement conversion mechanism interposed among the pressure transmission member, the rotary member and the follower member. The displacement conversion mechanism has a first link arm pin-connected between one end portion of the rotary member and the pressure transmission member, and a second link arm pin-connected between the other end portion of the rotary member and the follower member.

Constant-pressure mechanism and constant-torque mechanism

A clamping assembly for attaching a probe device to an attachment arm of a measuring instrument which extends from the instrument along a first axis. The probe device has a base arm positioned adjacent to the attachment arm in an axially overlapping manner. The clamping assembly includes a first annular clamping member proximate the measuring instrument, a second annular clamping member positioned axially adjacent the first clamping member, a rotatable annular clamping ring encompassing the first and second clamping members, and an arrangement for offsetting a central bore of the second clamping member relative to a central bore of the first clamping member along an axis extending perpendicular to the first axis during a relative axial movement between the clamping ring and the first clamping member. The effect is to urge the base arm into abutment with the attachment arm in a direction along the second axis.

Clamping assembly for measuring instrument

A digital display measuring apparatus including a movable contact on the body of the measuring apparatus to engage with an object to be measured, an encoder for converting the displacement of the contact into an electrical output signal, a counting circuit for counting the output signal of the encoder, and a digital display for indicating the counted value from the counting circuit. The digital display further includes a measurement indicator unit for indicating the displacement of the contact and a preset indicator unit for indicating a preset value higher than those indicated in the measurement indicator unit. The preset indicator unit includes a presetting device for supplying a reference value to the preset input of the preset indicator unit. With this apparatus even if the object to be measured has a length exceeding the maximum displacement of the contact, the full length of the object may be measured and indicated.

This invention concerns a dimension measuring instrument comprising an encoder for converting a displacement of a spindle into an electric signal and an analogue indication device for electrically indicating a measured value, which has been obtained through processing of an output from the encoder, by a pattern including a scale or scales, a pointer and the like. The analogue indication device is provided with a scale indicating circuit for continuously indicating two or more scales different in scale interval from each other and a pointer indicating circuit for driving the pointer in accordance with the measured value and depending on the scale interval for the indication, and a range of dimension indication is expanded without deteriorating the reading accuracy within a predetermined range of dimension indication.

Dimension measuring instrument

A displacement measuring device wherein a measuring element slidably supported on a main frame is provided and the length or the like of a work to be measured is measured from a displacement value of said measuring element when the forward end of said measuring element is abutted against said work to be measured, characterized in that said device comprises: a feed member provided on said main frame in a manner to be able to reciprocate within a predetermined range; a vertically movable member interlocked with and driven by said feed member, to thereby vertically move said measuring element; and a load applying means for applying a load to said vertically movable member through the utilization of a relative movement between said feed member and said vertically movable member when said vertically movable member is braked after said measuring element has been abutted against said work to be measured.

Dial indicator

A measuring instrument in which a slider slidably attached to a main bar is urged in one sliding direction or in the opposite sliding direction by means of a spring, the urged direction of the slider being switchable, and a displacement between the jaw of the main bar and the jaw of the slider with respect to a preset reference position is displayed on a dial indicator, so that measurement of the internal dimensions as well as external dimensions can be performed under the action of a constant resilient force.

A test indicator comprising a holder to which is pivoted a measuring arm with a measuring tip; a casing equipped with a means for magnifying the displacement of said measuring tip; and an intermediate shaft which moves axially in response to pivoted displacement of the measuring tip, thereby transmitting pivotal displacement of the tip to the magnifying means, the holder being fitted to the casing for 360.degree. rotation around the intermediate shaft so that the plane of pivotal movement of the measuring tip can be changed.
