An optical waveguide is provided and includes: a core forming layer with a high refractive index; and a first clad layer with a low refractive index, bonded to a first main surface of the core forming layer. The core forming layer is provided in its plane direction with a core portion, lateral clad portions each having one side adjacent to a corresponding side of the core portion, and high refractive index portions each adjacent to the other side of a corresponding one of the lateral clad portions. Steering control device

A control steered angle calculation unit includes: an end position determination unit that determines whether a rack shaft is located at either one of right and left rack end positions; a motor absolute angle calculation unit that detects a motor absolute angle; an end position-corresponding motor angle setting unit that, when the rack shaft is determined to be located at either one of the right and left rack end positions, sets the detected motor absolute angle as an end position-corresponding motor angle corresponding to the one of the right and left rack end positions; and a control steered angle origin setting unit that calculates an average value of right and left end position-corresponding motor angles as an offset angle, and sets an angle obtained by subtracting the offset angle from the detected motor absolute angle as an origin of the control steered angle represented by the motor ab solute angle.

Steering controller

When a steering angle reaches a first value close to a second value that defines a boundary of the maximum physical range of operation of a steering wheel, an ECU calculates a virtual end controlled variable that sharply increases a steering torque. The ECU calculates a second limit on the virtual end controlled variable and calculates a final limit (upper and lower limits) on an assist controlled variable by taking into account the second limit. When performing virtual end control, the ECU calculates the final limit on the assist controlled variable by using, as a first limit corresponding to the steering torque, a previous value held by upper and lower limit holders, instead of a present value calculated in accordance with the steering torque in a present calculation cycle.

An ECU includes a deviation calculating circuit an assist control circuit, an automatic steering control circuit including an intervention determination switching circuit, an adder, a current command value calculating circuit The intervention determination switching circuit includes a count amount calculating circuit, an adder, an immediately-preceding count amount output circuit, a switching determination circuit, and an output switching circuit. The count amount calculating circuit calculates a count amount having a positive value or a negative value based on a steering torque absolute value calculated by an absolute value switching circuit. Vehicle controller

The actuator control device includes an assist control circuit for calculating a first assist component and an automatic steering control circuit for calculating a second assist component. The automatic steering control circuit is allowed to calculate the second assist component while a steering torque is less than a first threshold value. The automatic steering control circuit calculates the second assist component by performing PID control that uses an integral term obtained on the basis of an angle deviation. When the steering torque is less than the first threshold value but not less than a second threshold value, the automatic steering control circuit limits the integral term in such a manner that it is harder for the integral term to increase while the steering torque is not less than the second threshold value than while the steering torque is less than the second threshold value.

Actuator control device

Provided is a steering control device that more appropriately performs a limiting function for a controlled variable having an abnormal value even if a plurality of kinds of state quantities that are used for steering control include a state quantity that does not meet a required level of reliability. The range of variation in first assist controlled variable calculated by using steering torque, a steering torque differential value, and a steering velocity, namely state quantities for which the required level of reliability is ensured, is limited by final limiting values calculated based on first to third limit maps. The range of variation in compensation amount calculated by using a steering angle, namely a state quantity for which the required level of reliability is not ensured, is limited by predetermined upper and lower limits. A variation in compensation amount per unit time is limited by a predetermined variation limiting value.

Restriction values (upper limit and lower limit) for an assist control amount are set individually for each of state amounts including steering torque &#x3c4; used to compute the assist control amount. A value obtained by summing such restriction values is set as a final restriction value for the assist control amount. Even though the assist control amount with an abnormal value is computed, the assist control amount is restricted to an appropriate value by the final restriction value. In addition, a transition is made from a primary assist control amount which is restricted to a secondary assist control amount computed separately from the primary assist control amount at the timing when a certain time elapses since the assist control amount is restricted. As the steering torque &#x3c4; is increased, the speed of transition from the primary assist control amount to the secondary assist control amount is increased.

An electric power steering system includes a control unit configured to: compute an assist control amount (current amount), based on multiple kinds of state quantities indicating a steering state; control a motor based on the assist control amount, the motor being a source of assist force to be applied to a steering system of a vehicle; individually set, for the respective state quantities, limiting values that limit a variation range of the assist control amount, based on the respective state quantities used to compute the assist control amount; limit a value of the assist control amount using the limiting values; acquire a command value generated by a host control unit to change the assist control amount; and take the command value into account in setting of at least one of the limiting values, when executing control of the motor based on the assist control amount that reflects the command value.

An electric power steering apparatus includes a control unit that calculates an assist controlled variable based on a plurality of types of state variables indicating steering statuses and controls a motor that serves as a generation source of an assist force applied to a steering mechanism of a vehicle based on the assist controlled variable. The control unit is configured to separately set limit values, which limit a change range of the assist controlled variable according to the respective state variables used to calculate the assist controlled variable, to the respective state variables, add up the limit values to generate ultimate limit value for the assist controlled variable, and perform limitation processing to limit the ultimate limit value for an assist controlled variable having a sign opposite to a sign of a steering torque that is one of the plurality of types of state variables.
