A thrust roller bearing cage () is a cage () provided to a thrust roller bearing and having a plurality of pockets () that house needle rollers (). The cage () includes projections () that are formed by bending a radially outer area of the cage () inwardly along the radius and that project inwardly along the radius toward a radially outer area of the pockets () to make contact with end faces () of the rollers (). The projections () have corners () that make contact with the end faces () of the rollers (). The corners () are press-flattened.

Thrust roller bearing cage and method for manufacturing the same

An oil pump comprises a rotation shaft having an eccentric part, a needle roller bearing supporting the eccentric part of the rotation shaft, a tappet abutting on the outer ring of the needle roller bearing and arranged in a radial manner, a plunger arranged on the tappet and reciprocated by the rotation of the rotation shaft, and a balancer arranged on both ends of the eccentric part. The balancer has a large diameter part and a small diameter part and when the large diameter part is arranged so as to face the direction opposite to an eccentric direction, the rolling space of a roller can be projected from an axial direction through the balancer.

A roller bearing utilizing a roller retainer, which has an excellent assemblability in the sense that the assembly line can be automated and which eliminates various problems inherent in the full complement roller bearing The roller bearing includes an outer race having a raceway, a plurality of rollers held in rolling contact with the raceway, and a ring-shaped roller retainer having a plurality of pockets, each rollingly receiving the respective roller, spacedly defined therein in a direction circumferentially thereof to form a ladder-like structure. The roller retainer has a plurality of slits that are spacedly defined in a direction circumferential thereof so as to extend from one axial end or the other axial end of the roller retainer to a position adjacent the other axial end or one axial end.

Roller bearing and method of assembling the same

To provide a roller bearing assembly that can provide a high load bearing capacity and in which the strength of roller retainers can be increased, the roller bearing assembly includes inner and outer roller retainers () each having a plurality of circumferentially arranged pockets (), and a circular row of rollers () received in part within the pockets in the inner roller () and in part within the pockets in the outer roller (). The inner roller retainer () has pillars () each left between the neighboring pockets to retain the circular row of the rollers from radially inwardly and having an outer diameter smaller than the diameter of the pitch circle PCD of the circular row of the rollers. The outer roller retainer () has pillars () each left between the neighboring pockets to retain the circular row of the rollers from radially outwardly and having an inner diameter greater than the pitch circle diameter PCD. One of the outer and inner roller retainers is made of a metallic material while the other thereof is made of a resinous material.

Roller bearing assembly

To provide a roller bearing assembly, which can be assembled with a minimized number of assembling steps and without any drop-off preventing sleeve being employed and which can provide a large load bearing capacity, the roller bearing assembly includes an inner racehaving a raceway surfacedefined therein, a plurality of rollers, and a ring-shaped roller retainerhaving a plurality of pocketsdefined therein in a direction circumferentially thereof for accommodating therein the respective rollersin a circular row. The roller retaineralso has pillarseach defined between the neighboring pockets. The roller retaineris positioned on the inner racewith each of the pillarsthereof intervening between the neighboring rollersto thereby retain the rollersin position within the respective pocketsfrom a direction radially outwardly of the row of the rollers. The diameter of the circle depicted by and in touch with the pillarsis chosen to be greater than the diameter of the pitch circle PCD depicted in the circular row of the rollers

Roller bearing

A shell type needle roller bearing for a universal joint is provided which can eliminate radial gaps. A plurality of needle rollers are mounted in an outer ring which has a cylindrical portion adapted to be fitted in a bearing ring formed in a bifurcated piece of a yoke and having a bottom at one end. The cylindrical portion is formed by three arcuate wall portions having equal circumferential lengths to each other. When a trunnion of a universal joint is inserted into the shell type needle roller bearing, the arcuate wall portions are resiliently deformed radially outwardly through the needle rollers, so that the needle rollers are pressed against the outer circumferential surface of the trunnion by the recovering resilience. This prevents formation of radial gaps.

Needle roller bearing

A steel connecting rod that is used mainly in a small-size internal combustion engine includes generally elongated first and second connecting rod forming plates (2) prepared from a steel plate by the use of a press work and having bearing holes (4, 5) defined in opposite ends of each of the first and second connecting rod forming plates (2) in the form of burrings (8, 9). The first and second connecting rod forming plates (2) are joined in face-to-face relation with each other. Bearings (10) are press-fitted into the bearing holes (4, 5) so as to straddle between the burrings (8, 9) at each end of the first and second connecting rod forming plates (2). The height (a) of a corner (11) formed at a radially inner base end of each burring (8, 9) is chosen to be smaller than the plate thickness (t) of each of the first and second connecting rod forming plates (2). Each of the first and second connecting rod forming plates (2) is made from a steel plate that is not heat-treated.

The annular contact surface (1b1) of the bottom portion of an outer ring is formed with an uneven pattern comprising a number of projections (A) (regions A1, A2, A3) and recesses (regions B1, B2). Each projection (A) is a substantially Y-shaped region having a given level above the bottom surface of the regions (B1, B2). The regions (A1) and (A2), forming the Y's heads of the projection (A), lead to the outer diameter of the annular contact surface (1b1), while the region (A3) forming the Y's leg leads to the inner diameter of the annular contact surface (1b1).
