A support unit is provided at a downstream side of a tray surface tilted upward in a sheet discharge direction so as to be movable in the sheet discharge direction and a reverse direction of the sheet discharge direction. The support unit has a support plate that supports a discharge sheet from below. The support plate is tilted in a vertical direction by being supported at an upstream end of the support plate in as a fulcrum and is raised and downed with respect to the tray surface so as to change an angle.

Sheet discharge tray and image forming apparatus

A sheet ejecting device includes a sheet conveyance path, an exit port, at least one ejection roller pair, and a sheet detection portion. The sheet detection portion detects a sheet being ejected. The sheet detection portion includes an actuator and a sensor. The actuator moves by contact with a sheet passing along the sheet conveyance path. The sensor detects the actuator. The actuator moves between a detectable position where the actuator is detectable by the sensor and an undetectable position where the actuator is not detectable by the sensor. The actuator has a sheet guide portion. The sheet guide portion extends along a sheet conveyance direction. The sheet guide portion moves, in a direction transverse to the sheet conveyance direction such that the actuator moves to the detectable position, by contact with the sheet passing along the sheet conveyance path and guides the sheet in the sheet conveyance direction.

Sheet ejecting device and image forming apparatus

A recording medium feeding unit includes a recording medium loading plate, a main body, positioning members, racks, a pinion, a rotating shaft and an adjustment member. The main body holds the recording medium loading plate. The positioning members position the recording member in a widthwise direction. The racks are respectively provided on the positioning members, extend along the widthwise direction, and move in the widthwise direction integrally with the positioning members. The pinion is rotatably provided on the main body, is engaged with each of the racks, and is rotated in association with the movement of the racks. The rotating shaft rotatably supports the pinion. The adjustment member applies a rotation load to the pinion by allowing the pinion to be in contact therewith. The adjustment member is capable of adjusting the rotation load in a manner to move in the thickness direction of the recording medium loading plate.

Recording medium feeding unit and image forming apparatus including the same

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus main body with a main conveyance path, a first storage portion including a first conveyance path, a second conveyance path and a joint section. The joint section is a part where an upstream end of the main conveyance path and downstream ends of the first and second conveyance paths join. The first storage portion includes a movable guide at the position of the downstream end of the first conveyance path. The movable guide is displaced to a projecting position where the movable guide projects toward the joint section from the downstream end of the first conveyance path to guide the sheet in a state where the first storage portion is mounted in the apparatus main body and a retracted position substantially retracted from the joint section in a state where the first storage portion is withdrawn from the apparatus main body.

Image forming apparatus

A sheet feeding device includes a grounding member arranged to a housing and electrically grounded, a sheet loading part arranged to the housing and loading a sheet, a sheet conveying path extending from the sheet loading part and conveying the sheet in a conveying direction, a sheet feeding part and a swinging member. The sheet feeding part is arranged facing to the sheet loading part and conveys the sheet on the sheet loading part in the conveying direction. The electro-conductive swinging member is swingably supported to the housing and swung in a first direction by bring the sheet from the sheet loading part into contact with the swinging member. The swinging member includes a first contact part receiving the contact of the sheet and a second contact part coming into contact with the grounding member accompanying to the swing in the first direction of the swinging member.

Sheet feeding device, and image reading device and image forming apparatus including the sheet feeding device

A sheet feeding mechanism includes a separating member, a biasing member, a detectable portion and a detector. The separating member is mounted on a base portion to be movable between a first position to which the separating member is positioned when being pressed by a sheet feeding member and a second position at a distance from the first position. The biasing member biases the separating member so that the separating member moves from the first position toward the second position. The detectable portion is provided on the separating member. The detector detects the detectable portion at a detection position. The detectable portion is present at the detection position when the separating member is located at the first position and deviates from the detection position when the separating member is moved to the second position.

Sheet feeding mechanism and image forming apparatus provided with the same

A feed assembly including: feed roller; support element for supporting feed roller; separating mechanism for facilitating separation of first and second sheets; and base with guide surface for guiding sheets and positioning wall for positioning separating mechanism; wherein engaging portion for engaging with separating mechanism is formed in positioning wall; separating mechanism includes: separator for separating sheets; first biasing element including first and second ends; seat including first and second walls; positioning element installed on first wall to be moved between first and second positions; and shifter for shifting positioning element; first biasing element biases separator; shifter holds positioning element in first position; and when feed roller is removed from support element, shifter moves positioning element to second position.
