A navigation method for a ship which includes: a plurality of main generators that feed power to navigation equipment used in normal navigation and appliances for the living quarters provided within a ship body; and an emergency generator that feeds power to emergency equipment in case of fire or flood. The navigation method includes: an emergency power feeding step for feeding power to the emergency equipment using the emergency generator when at least one of the plurality of main generators is disabled due to fire or flood; and a return-to-port power feeding step for feeding power to return-to-port equipment, required for navigation for returning to port, using the main generators and the emergency generator after the fire or flood has subsided.

Navigation method for ship, and ship

This ship includes a ship body, a fuel tank chamber, a stern-side engine room, a bow-side engine room, a main fuel line and a sub-fuel line, and a pump mechanism. The main fuel line connects a fuel tank, a stern-side power generation unit, and a bow-side power generation unit through the bow-side engine room. The sub-fuel line connects at least the fuel tank and the stern-side power generation unit, and is disposed through a section different from the bow-side engine room through which the main fuel line passes. The pump mechanism selectively feeds fuel into the main fuel line or the sub-fuel line from the fuel tank.

A ship () includes a hull () having side shells (A,B) formed at both sides in athwart ship direction, a pair of watertight compartments (A,B) installed along the side shells (A,B) of both sides in the athwart ship direction in the hull () and portions of which are divided and formed by the side shells (A,B), a connection section () configured to bring the pair of watertight compartments (A,B) in connection with each other, an opening/closing valve () installed at the connection section (), and a control device () configured to control the opening and closing of the opening/closing valve (), wherein the control device () switches the opening/closing valve () in an open state into a closed state when a predetermined condition is satisfied after receiving a signal indicating damage to the side shell (A) has occurred.

A ship includes a main propeller; a pod propulsion unit; and a rudder plate. The main propeller, the pod propulsion unit and the rudder plate are arranged on a hull centerline in this order. The pod propulsion unit includes a pod propeller; and a strut. The main propeller and the pod propeller configure a contrarotating propeller. When rudder angles of the pod propulsion unit and the rudder plate are zero, at least a part of a front end of the rudder plate is in front of a rear end of the casing.
