The present disclosure provides a method for generating a 3D digital model used in hairpiece manufacturing is provided, which comprises: obtaining an initial 3D model of a head; identifying an outline of a target area to be covered by a hairpiece on the initial 3D model; and cutting the initial 3D model based at least partially on the target area to obtain a refined 3D model. A physical mold used in hairpiece manufacturing and a method for generating the same are also provided according to other aspects of the present disclosure.

A method for generating a 3D digital model used in hairpiece manufacturing is disclosed, which comprises: scanning a subject's head three-dimensionally by optical means, and obtaining 3D geometry and color information of the head, the 3D geometry and the color information having a positional correspondence therebetween; generating a 3D model of the head based on the 3D geometry and color information; identifying a target area to be covered by a hairpiece based on the color information; and obtaining position of the target area based on the positional correspondence between the 3D geometry and the color information. A system for generating a 3D digital model used in hairpiece manufacturing is also disclosed, which comprises a 3D optical scanner and an electronic device.

A method for generating a 3D digital model used for creating a hairpiece are disclosed. The method comprises: obtaining a 3D model of a head, the 3D model containing a 3D surface mesh having one single boundary and color information associated with the 3D mesh; mapping the 3D model into a 2D image in such a manner that any continuously connected line on the 3D model is mapped into a continuously connected line in the 2D image, the 2D image containing a 2D mesh with color information applied thereto; displaying the 2D image; identifying a feature in the 2D image based on the color information; and mapping the identified feature back onto the 3D model. A system for generating a 3D digital model used for creating a hairpiece is also provided in another aspect of the present disclosure.

A system for simultaneous real-time three-dimensional geometry and color texture acquisition. The system includes a system processor for generating at least three phase shifted black and white fringe patterns with a phase shift of 2 &#x3c0;/3, a light projector adapted to project the fringe patterns onto an object, the projector being electrically connected with the system processor, and a color camera for capturing the fringe patterns to generate at least three raw fringe images. The fringe images are used to calculate a black and white texture image which is further converted to a color image by employing a demosaicing algorithm. The fringe images are also used to calculate a wrapped phase map that is further processed to generate a continuous unwrapped phase map by employing a phase unwrapping algorithm and the unwrapped phase map is converted to co-ordinates using calibrated system parameters for point-by-point three-dimensional shape measurement.

A method and associated apparatus for capturing an image of a 3D object () which encodes the surface geometry of at least a portion of the object, comprising: 1. projecting () a plurality of fringe patterns (A,A) onto the object; 2. capturing () phase alterations in reflections of the fringe patterns (B,B) from the object; 3. projecting a uniform image (A) onto the object; 4. capturing a reflection of the uniform image (B) from the object; and 5. combining () captured phase alterations and captured uniform image reflection on a pixel-by-pixel basis, thereby forming a holoimage representation of the object.
