An impact energy absorbing member includes an energy absorbing portion and an attachment portion. The attachment portion is fastened to the bumper reinforcement using a fastener, the fastener extending through the attachment portion and a wall of the bumper reinforcement and including an axis that extends in a direction intersecting an axial direction of the energy absorbing portion. The attachment portion and the energy absorbing portion are in a positional relationship in which the energy absorbing portion does not overlap the fastener when the impact energy absorbing member is viewed in a direction from the bumper reinforcement toward the energy absorbing portion in a vehicle front-rear direction.

Impact energy absorbing member

A vehicular panel structure includes a panel, a reinforcement disposed inward of the panel in a vehicle, and mastic that bonds the panel and the reinforcement to each other. The reinforcement is provided with a body portion constituting a middle portion in a longitudinal direction and having a linear expansion coefficient smaller than the linear expansion coefficient of the panel, a connection portion constituting an end portion in the longitudinal direction, and a joining portion allowing the body portion and the connection portion to be joined to each other by a thermosetting adhesive and a fastener. A long hole portion is disposed in the reinforcement and is formed in either the connection portion or the body portion. The fastener is inserted into the long hole portion.

Vehicular panel structure

There is provided a vehicle body upper section structure including: a pair of roof side rails that are spaced apart in a vehicle width direction and that extend along a vehicle front-rear direction; a roof reinforcement that extends along the vehicle width direction between the pair of roof side rails; extensions that each join a vehicle vertical direction lower side of a respective one of the pair of roof side rails to a respective vehicle width direction inward side of the roof reinforcement; and a beaded section that is provided at each extension, the beaded section projecting toward a lower side in the vehicle vertical direction and extending in the vehicle width direction such that a projection depth of the beaded section toward the lower side becomes deeper on progression from an inner side toward an outer side in the vehicle width direction.

Vehicle body upper section structure

In a method of manufacturing a front pillar, a resin layer is formed by discharging a transparent resin from first nozzles of a 3D printer and discharging a supporting material from second nozzles of the 3D printer, while moving the first nozzles and the second nozzles in a direction corresponding to a length direction of a front pillar. Afterwards, the first nozzles and the second nozzles are moved relatively in a direction corresponding to a transverse direction of the front pillar and in a direction of moving away from the resin layer. By repeating the forming of the resin layer and the relative moving of the first nozzles and the second nozzles, the resin layers are layered in the direction corresponding to the transverse direction of the front pillar such that the front pillar is manufactured.

Method of manufacturing resin pillar

A vehicle pillar structure includes a pillar upper portion that extends along a vehicle height direction on a vehicle width direction outer side and is made of a transparent resin, and a pillar lower portion that is disposed on a the vehicle height direction lower side of the pillar upper portion, is made of metal, and is joined to the pillar upper portion at a joint portion. The joint portion between the pillar upper portion and the pillar lower portion includes an outer joint portion positioned on the vehicle width direction outer side, and an inner joint portion positioned on a vehicle width direction inner side. A height of the outer joint portion and a height of the inner joint portion are different.

Vehicle pillar structure

The present disclosure provides a vehicle pillar structure including: a pillar portion extending along a vehicle transverse direction outer side end portion of a windshield glass, the pillar portion including: a pair of side portions configuring a vehicle transverse direction inner side and outer side portion of the pillar portion and being configured by an opaque material, and transparent portions provided between the pair of side portions and being configured by a transparent material; reinforcing portions configured by an opaque material, spanning between the pair of side portions, formed integrally with the transparent portions, and reinforcing the pillar portion; and upper surfaces and lower surfaces of the reinforcing portions extending along a vehicle longitudinal direction, or inclining toward a vehicle lower side on progression towards a vehicle longitudinal direction outer side, as seen in a cross-section viewed from a vehicle transverse direction inner side.

The panel member molded from a fiber reinforced plastic material includes the waved plate section. In the waved plate section, lateral wall portions are connected to upright wall portions through bent portions. Each lateral wall portion includes a general portion extending along the wavelength direction of the waved plate section. A plate thickness of the general portions of the lateral wall portions is set thinner than a plate thickness of the upright wall portions. The general portion at least does not include bubbles with a larger diameter than reinforcing fibers. An array direction of the reinforcing fibers disposed in the general portion of the lateral wall portion is set in a direction running along the wavelength direction of the waved plate section.

Panel member, press mold, and manufacturing method of panel member

A vehicle pillar structure comprising a pillar portion extending in parallel with an outer end portion of a windshield and the pillar portion having a hollow structure, the pillar portion comprising an outer side wall at a vehicle exterior side of the pillar portion; an inner side wall at a vehicle cabin side of the pillar portion; and a pair of side walls linking the outer side wall and the inner side wall. At least a portion of the outer side wall is an outer side transparent portion, at least a portion of the inner side wall is an inner side transparent portion and, as viewed from a driver position, overlaps with the outer side transparent portion, and a tensile strength of the outer side wall is lower than that of the inner side wall.

A vehicle pillar structure comprising: a pillar member configuring a skeleton of a vehicle; a reinforcement member disposed inside the pillar member, bridging a pair of side portions of the pillar member, and reinforcing the pillar member; and an infrared transmission inhibition member, the infrared transmission inhibition member covering the reinforcement member at least from a design surface side of the pillar member and inhibiting transmission of infrared radiation.

A vehicle pillar structure comprises a pillar portion, the pillar portion extends in parallel with an outer side end portion in a vehicle transverse direction of a windshield glass and, as viewed from a longitudinal direction of the pillar portion, has a hollow structure. The pillar portion comprises an outer side wall forming a wall portion at a vehicle outer side of the pillar portion, an inner side wall forming a wall portion at a vehicle cabin side of the pillar portion, and a pair of side walls linking the outer side wall and the inner side wall together. At least a portion of the outer side wall is an outer side transparent portion, and at least a portion of the inner side wall is an inner side transparent portion that is disposed so as to face the outer side transparent portion as viewed by a driver.

In a battery frame, an upper panel is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic, and first reinforcements are made of sheet metal. Head portions of rivets are disposed at the upper panel side, and a diameter dimension of the head portions is set larger than that of caulking portions of the rivets. This enables a contact surface area between the rivets and the upper panel to be larger than in cases in which the caulking portions are disposed at the upper panel side. This enables peripheral edge portions of first joint holes in the upper panel to be supported by the head portions of the rivets over a large surface area. The peripheral edge portions of the first joint holes in the upper panel are thereby suppressed from breaking and the like.

A vehicle battery mounting structure has: a battery frame lower member that is made of resin, and that is disposed at vehicle transverse direction inner sides of energy absorbing members provided at a lower side of a floor panel, and that, together with a battery frame upper member, structures a battery frame that supports a battery; a lower ductile member having a lower main body portion that is joined to vehicle transverse direction outer side end portions of the battery frame lower member, and lower flange portions that are fixed to a bottom surface side of the floor panel; and inclined walls that are formed at vehicle transverse direction outer side end portions of the battery frame lower member, and that are inclined from vehicle transverse direction outer upper sides toward vehicle transverse direction inner lower sides.

Vehicle battery mounting structure

A vehicle body lower portion structure that may prevent or suppress an occurrence of cracks in a support plate even if a load from an obstacle on a road surface is inputted at an end portion of the support plate. Support portions are configured at a stack frame. Lower faces of flange portions of a metal plate member are fixed to the support portions via adhesive layers. Extended end portions are formed extending from the support portions at a front end portion and a rear end portion of the stack frame. At each extended end portion of the stack frame, an inclined portion is formed. The inclined portion is inflected toward a vehicle body upper side from a projected portion of the support portion, and is inclined to a side away from the flange portion of the metal plate member.
