There is provided an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a program capable of displaying an effect image indicating a situation of tactile presentation caused by an object. The information processing apparatus according to one aspect of the present technology acquires information regarding a situation of tactile presentation to at least a part of a user's body, and generates an effect image indicating the situation of the tactile presentation. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a transmissive head-mounted display (HMD).

An information processing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present technology includes a hold determination unit. The hold determination unit determines, in a case where a rate of decrease of a distance between a first hold-side object and a second hold-side object that set a virtual object as a pinch-and-hold target becomes smaller than a predetermined threshold value, that the virtual object has been held by the first hold-side object and the second hold-side object. Accordingly, a high-quality virtual experience can be achieved.

An information processing apparatus includes a position processing unit, a correction unit, and a display control unit. The position processing unit estimates a head position of a user and estimates a position of a predetermined part of a body of the user based on the estimated head position. The first circuitry stores the plurality of content data to a storage medium, and provides a graphical user interface to receive an input identifying a list of the plurality of content data stored in said storage medium that are to be automatically transferred to the portable apparatus. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium is provided for storing computer program instructions that cause a computer to implement a method of exchanging content. An information processor such as a personal computer is provided. A terminal is operably linked to the information processor to check out or to check in content to/from the terminal.
