A vibrating gyrosensor includes a support substrate on which a wiring pattern having lands is formed. A vibrating element is mounted on a surface of the support substrate. The vibrating element includes a base part having a mounting surface on which a number of terminals connectable to the lands is formed. A vibrator part integrally projects from a side of the base part and has a substrate-facing surface coplanar with the mounting surface of the base part. The vibrator part has a first electrode layer, a piezoelectric layer, and a second electrode layer which are laminated on the substrate-facing surface. The vibrator part vibrates when an AC signal is applied between the first and second electrode layers. The central electric field strength of the AC signal is set at a position shifting to the positive direction from the center of a hysteresis loop of the piezoelectric layer.

A vibrating gyroscopic sensor element including a cantilever vibrator, at least one first depression on the cantilever vibrator, a pair of detection electrodes provided on the cantilever vibrator and at least one second depression on the cantilever vibrator. The cantilever vibrator projects from a base area of the vibrating gyroscopic sensor element and the first depression is effective to adjust the frequency difference between a vertical resonance frequency and a horizontal resonance frequency of the vibrator. Further, the second depression is effective to adjust the difference of signals output from the detection electrodes.

An image transmitter has: an encoder for receiving image data and outputting coded image data; a packet transmitter for receiving the coded image data from the encoder, buffering the coded image data while counting a data number, and when coded image data of one packet of a fixed length is buffered, packetizing the coded image data and transmitting the packetized coded image data; a first enable signal generator for generating a first enable signal which becomes enable at a start of transmission of each packet and disable at an end of transmission; and a second enable signal generator for generating a second enable signal which becomes enable at a start of transmission of a predetermined number of packets and disable at an end of transmission. The image transmitter and image transmitting method are provided which can transmit image data to an application chip fabricated on the assumption that it receives a packet of a fixed data number and a frame of a fixed packet number.

A vibrating gyroscopic sensor including a vibrating gyroscopic sensor element including a cantilever vibrator that includes a piezoelectric film, a driving electrode, and a pair of detection electrodes on a first surface, and a support substrate on which the vibrating gyroscopic sensor element is mounted. The vibrating gyroscopic sensor element is mounted on the support substrate so that the first surface of the cantilever vibrator faces the support substrate. An area other than the first surface of the cantilever vibrator is defined as a laser processing area where a depression for adjusting the vibration characteristics of the cantilever vibrator is to be provided.

A tape cassette having a lid pivotally supported at two side walls of the cassette housing so as to open or close a tape withdrawing mouth has a lid lock member for locking said lid at a closed position. Upon use, the tape cassette is loaded on a recording and/or reproducing apparatus having an optical tape end sensing device formed of a light emitting element and a light receiving element. The lid lock member includes a light leading cover or tunnel piece which coincides with a light path which extends from the light emitting element to the light receiving element. This tape cassette also has an opening formed through its side walls so as to communicate with the light path, wherein an outer end portion of the tunnel piece is inserted into the opening portion.

A reel flange for a tape reel in a tape recording system which has an annularly-shaped projecting portion which merges into a recessed annularly-shaped control portion. A plurality of inwardly-directed rib members extend inwardly from the projecting portion into the recessed central portion to aid in the alignment of the reel flanges when stacked during manufacture. Openings in the recessed control portion receive mating pins located on a cylindrical projecting portion intermediate the flanges of the reel to secure the flange to the projection portion. The flange further defines a stacking-pin receiving opening with an alignment lug. The thickness of the projecting portion of the reel flange may also decrease with increasing radial distance from its center.

In a video tape cassette having upper and define a substantially rectangular housing with an opening extending along a side thereof between end walls of the housing for containing reels having tape wound thereon and guided between the reels in a run extending across the opening, and a lid structure which is pivotally mounted on the housing for movement by a coil spring from an open position exposing the tape run to a closed position in which the lid structure covers the tape run; the assembling of the tape cassette is facilitated by providing anchors on the lid structure by which the coil spring is initially or tentatively located during the mounting of the lid structure on one the housing portions, whereupon the coil spring is transferred into engagement with an anchor on that one housing portion in preparation for assembling of the latter with the other housing portion. An improved coil spring has a leg portion which defines an area of contact with a latch element which is greater than that defined by the length of the leg portion, such as by binding the end of the leg portion.

A magnetic tape cassette includes a casing with a substantially straight side along which a peripheral wall has an opening for access to magnetic tape contained in the casing between its top and bottom walls which have edge portions projecting beyond the peripheral wall along the straight side, and a lid member having an elongated plate portion dimensioned to extend along the straight side of the casing and to fit closely between the projecting edge portions and ears projecting from opposite ends of the plate portion for disposition against respective end portions of the peripheral wall. Pivot pins are loosely received in respective, preferably triangular, apertures for connecting the ears of the lid member with the casing to permit pivoting of the lid member and its bodily displacement relative to the casing in directions at right angles to the pivoting axis. Thus, the lid member is movable, by a combination of the pivoting and bodily displacement thereof, between a closed position in which the plate portion is between the projecting edge portions at the straight side of the casing for closing the opening therein and an opened position in which the plate portion of the lid is disposed at the outside of the top or bottom wall of the casing adjacent the respective edge portion. Coil springs are connected between the casing and lid member of pivotally urging the latter to a neutral pivoted position in which the plate portion is centered between the projecting edge portions and bodily urging the lid member, in its neutral pivoted position, toward the straight side of the peripheral wall of the casing.

A tape cassette having a plug for preventing erasure by mistake which may be inserted to make engagement with a recess provided in a peripheral surface of a cassette. The plug has a pair of insertion legs which extend from the ends of a mistake inhibiting web, and engagement portions for engaging mating engagement portions in the engagement recess. The plug may be inserted into the engagement recess from the web side or from the ends of the insertion legs as selected by the user, and the insertion legs will slide along surfaces of the cassette to fill said engagement recess. Different indications may be provided in window openings contiguous to the engagement recess in the cassette proper, according to whether the plug has been inserted from the web side or from the insertion legs, so that the user may know whether the tape cassette is recording correctly or incorrectly.

In a tape cassette having a cassette casing constituted by upper and lower, substantially rectangular halves which are secured together in mating relation for enclosing a pair of reel hubs rotatably mounted in side-by-side relation and a magnetic tape wound on the hubs and being guided therebetween in a path extending along one side of the casing; each of the upper and lower casing halves includes an opaque frame having a substantially large window opening therein and a window member of transparent resin closing the window opening of the respective opaque frame and being secured to the latter adjacent the peripheries of the window opening and window member, respectively, and projections formed integrally with the window member of at least one of the casing halves and each extending therefrom in the direction toward the interior of the casing for resisting inward removal of the respective window member from the window opening of the respective frame, and thereby maintaining the strength and rigidity of the cassette casing while permitting the use of window members of increased size for improved viewing of the tape and reel hubs within the casing.

In a tape cassette with a housing including top and bottom walls having respective pairs of spaced apart openings aligned with each other, a pair of hubs disposed rotatably within the housing between the walls and being accessible through the respective aligned openings for selectively driving the hubs of the cassette, and a magnetic tape wound on a cylindrical circumferential surface of an outer peripheral portion of each of the hubs; each of the hubs includes an annular rib radially inward from the outer peripheral portion and projecting axially beyond opposite flanks of the outer peripheral portion of the hub so as to extend rotatably around annular flanges directed axially inward from the respective aligned openings of the housing walls, and a pair of lubricating sheets are disposed against the inner surfaces of the housing walls and each have a pair of ridges or beads projecting therefrom and a pair of holes located between the ridges and through which the annular flanges on the adjacent wall extend with the annular rib of each hub engaging flat surface portions located between the holes and ridges of the sheets while the ridges of the lubricating sheets are engageable with the flanks of the outer peripheral portions of the hubs for accurately guiding the wound tape in the axial direction of the hubs.
