An object of the invention is to provide a lid for storage battery comprising a terminal having a rectangular parallelepiped shape and a cavity portion, and a nut having a rectangular parallelepiped shape and being inserted into the cavity portion. The terminal has a first through-hole extending from an upper surface toward a lower surface of the terminal and a second through-hole extending from a front surface toward a rear plate portion of the terminal. The nut has a first screw hole extending from an upper surface toward a lower surface of the nut, and a second screw hole extending from a front surface toward a back surface of the nut, the first and second screw holes communicating with the first and second through-holes of the terminal, respectively. A direction in which the first screw hole extends does not intersect with a direction in which the second screw hole extends.

An object of the invention is to provide a lid for storage battery, an injection molding method of the lid, a storage battery with the lid, and a terminal section for storage battery, which can save trouble of inserting a nut into a cavity portion of a terminal, and can prevent falling of the nut at the time of connection of an external leading wire. In a lid for storage battery in which a terminal section for storage batterymade up of a terminalhaving a cavity portion, a bushing, and a conductive portionjoining both is insert-molded in a lid made of synthetic resin, and a storage battery with the lid for storage battery, an anchor portionT is projected at a location excluding at least a central portion of a bottom portionF of the terminal, and a nut is inserted into the cavity portion of the terminal to be fixed. Moreover, in the terminal section for storage battery, the anchor portionT is projected at the location excluding at least the central portion of the bottom portionF of the terminal(e.g., the U-shaped anchor portionT is projected with a U-shaped joining portionG interposed).

In a lead-acid storage battery including a container housing elements formed by alternately layering positive electrode plates and negative electrode plates with deformable separators interposed therebetween, the container includes a narrow portion having a small inside dimension in a width direction intersecting a layered direction of the elements, widths of the respective plates are smaller than the inside dimension in the width direction of the narrow portion of the container, and widths of the separators are greater than or equal to the inside dimension of the narrow portion of the container.

A lead-acid battery terminal member includes: a terminal portion which is arranged in a resin-made cover for closing a container; and a cylindrical bushing which is connected to the terminal portion through a conducting portion. The bushing is embedded in the cover, and has a plurality of annular projecting portions formed on an outer periphery thereof. Poles extending from an electrode group arranged in the container are inserted into and are welded to the bushing. Surface roughness of a surface of the annular projecting portion which faces a resin forming the cover in an opposed manner is lower than surface roughness of a surface of a portion other than the annular projecting portion.
